Stayed 3 nights here and I can you it's very clean with the hard flooring and I also saw the cleaning lady mop the floor and sprayed soap as I was walking passed another room. It is in a very great location with a mall and tons of restaurants close by. Also has a pool but the water is pretty cold as it is not heated.

This is a motel type of stay. The rooms are very small and tight. If you open a suite case, there is not enough space to use the table and chairs.
Car parking fee is $10 per night that is not mentioned during booking. Also not mentioned is room cleaning is only done on the 3rd night.
The room keys did not work correctly and we had to reprogram them several times, still only one key would work, mine or my wife’s, but not both. For the nightly rate expected a bit more.
However the location is good. Close to good restaurants, shops and Arts Square.

- Location is fantastic as it is in the midst of shopping areas, food, and in close proximity to leisure attractions
- Open and roomy parking area
- Front desk is helpful and friendly
NEGATIVES
- Old building with a worn-out impression
- High on price given the facility and lack of renovations
- No breakfast included within the expensive rate
- Parking fee charged at USD 10 per night (not mentioned at the time of booking)
- Staircase is old and difficult to use due to small, injury prone steps
The elevator is very old and slow.. takes ages to transport you from one floor to the other.
- Room service isn't done on a daily basis. Rather, every 3 days, which was forgotten in my case, and I had to remind the front desk for it
- Room space is tight with barely enough area to walk if you've got 4 people and 3 large luggage

Great location. Plenty of dining options within walking distance. We had no issue with noise. Room seemed clean and updated upon entry, although the floor could have used some extra attention. We did see hair in the bathroom. Room had a stale, musty smell. Staff were helpful and friendly. Would stay here again.

An updated Vagabond Inn. Motel style between two bigger hotels. First impressions mixed - slight wait on arrival for receptionist to return from break, but the rooms are great. Our room was on the top floor and fully refurbished. New floors, new bathroom, great bed, fridge, safe, ironing board, coffee machine, soaps, shower gels, large tv. Ideally located within 5 minutes of a wide selection of fancy shopping, food court and many choices of dining from fast food to expensive restaurants. Parking is $10 per night but well lit, with cameras everywhere. Easy drive to Universal, Griffith Park, Hollywood, Beverly Hills. Little road noise and a quiet room. First 3 days of our holiday in California and very happy with our choice. You won't get better at this price point.

Decent prices, right next door to the American at Brand which was kinda cool. We actually were turned away from a much less cool hotel, we assumed they were dog friendly but were not. We were so relieved to find the Vagabond Inn, which was a way better location, and was dog friendly!
We walked over to the Americana in the evening, close to tons of shopping and restaurants.
Clean rooms, nice front desk. Rooms felt new and modern. Only dig, getting into the parking lot from the main road can be a little hectic to due being right next to the shopping center. There is a back road through a little alley to get in, make sure to take note of that and try to avoid the crazy main road. Overall, nice spot.

Unfortunately the room smelled like smoke. We stayed for less than an hour, can not stand it, had to leave, and the property management would not give us a refund.

Make sure your room key doesn't demagnetize after 6pm. Office staff leaves till 8. Yesterday from 11pm till 1 pm I was locked out. Evening Management sucks

A gem in a super expensive area. Well located for touring all kinds of LA attractions. The charge for parking onsite was unexpected, however. A security deposit of $100 is also charged but returned if no damage...also unexpected, but understood. There is a safe inside rooms and no carpet which is a plus in terms of overall clean! Despite being right next to busy street and on first floor it was super quiet and bed was comfy...good and not too noisy AC as well. Didn't use the pool but is large enough, so kudos to Vagabond Inn Management and company
