We loved it here. We had an extended stay of about a month. They were gracious enough to allow our dogs to stay with us when we lost our home to a fire, but they are pet friendly, not just our dogs. Loved this little hotel for a family stay. We had a canal view room. It was cute, clean, and well set up, including dishes! 15 minute walk to the beach with kids. Our favourite part was the social lobby where we could gave dinner and hang out. Good price for laundry too! The only down side for us was that the room deck wasn't safe for our little one - she easily fit through the bars at 1.5 years old...

The pool is much bigger, it's an infinity, the bat is outside by the beach and the live music is in the center of the open courtyard. The inside is remodeled and it all just looks so new!

Nice pool area. Close to a couple of good restaurants and bars. Bring ear plugs if louder air conditioning units or chickens wake you up. I'm pretty sure they have complementary yoga classes by the beach. Staff is very friendly.

I must say I was quite disappointed as a Diamond member. The first room they gave me smelled like mildew and had a damp feeling to it. The room they moved me to was better but the previous person that had stayed there soap, strings of hair and shower gel was left in the shower and some of the shower corners were really dirty. My family just experienced our 10th trip to Kauai a week ago and we used my husband’s points to stay 8 nights. Each morning we had breakfast at the hotel and enjoyed the excellent service our waitress, Jay, gave us each morning at breakfast. She is wonderful at customer service. Nice hotel right in the middle of the island which makes getting to all locations on the island doable. Rooms are a bit dated. Lobby is updated though. Be ready to run the dehumidifier in the room 24/7 to avoid the damp and musty feeling of the rooms. Appreciate the refill water stations. My husband and I stayed in one of the cottages with our 11 month old. The separate living and sleeping areas let us stay up after the baby went to bed. The cottage was nicely decorated and has wood floors throughout. There's a short walk to the beach and a short drive to see beautiful views of valleys and waterfalls.

Nice hotel overall — clean and quiet. Check in and check out went very smooth. Housekeeping is very efficient and kind. Parking is very limited at nighttime, not as bad during the day. We didn’t have any problems finding parking, but we also didn’t stay out very late in the evening and had a sedan. We would definitely stay again if we came back to Kauai — good value for cost overall.

Great location. This particular facility has not been remodeled in a long time and the rooms definitely show that. It does not have very nice rooms. The facility is kind of old.The location is great. I was a little worried after reading some reviews but we were so impressed with this hotel, especially the grounds. So beautiful! The staff were amazing. The beach right out back was actually one of our favorite on the island, it was the perfect place to watch the sunrise everyday. The smoothies at the lava lava beach club were so good. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Islander. It has been quiet, peaceful, and friendly, and there are a lot of good places to eat within comfortable walking distance from the hotel. And the ocran view from our lanai is mesmerizing. Yeah, we'd stay here again!

Rooms could be updated. Ac didn’t work in the beach fronting room the first night. 2nd night we moved rooms but then was upstairs when we specifically wanted to walkout to the beach. I actually have not yet stayed here because sadly we had to delay our trip due to illness and a household emergency. I'm rating Plantation Hale Suites on excellent customer service dealing with us having to make our last-minute changes. Very appreciative, and looking forward to our stay when we can finally make it!

Easy to find from airport and was our first night stay after a late afternoon arrival. Stayed one night only. Poor beds and they didn't have a two queen bed room as we had reserved and ended up on a bad pull out and a cot for three tall teen boys. Be advised the market next door was way overpriced but had something to eat for our arrival.

Lovely facility with a wonderful location. Easy to access both ends of the island from here. There are many places to shop and eat close by too. If you don't have a car the coconut market place is only a short stroll away as is the beach ?. This hotel is good value for money. We liked that it was self contained and we could cater for our meals as we pleased.

The Lae Nani Resort couldn't have been more beautiful. The grounds were breathtaking, the beach was amazing, the proximity (easy walk) to the Coconut Marketplace, restaurants, Lava Lava, etc made it so easy to relax and get around. Had a taste of "Old Hawaii" to it. Absolutely loved the resort!

Great place to stay. The restaurant at the resort had great food. The rooms were clean and spacious with the sound of the waves contributing to a beautiful morning. Located conveniently from restaurants, shops and bike rentals/ trails. The staff was amazing and very helpful. The only down side was there were no elevators. Overall, I had a great experience!

Excellent location, right on the beach! Kauai isn't that big of an island and this is centrally located on the east coastline. This place is amazing even though the amenities and facility may be slightly outdated. The restaurant is amazing and it close to a variety of shops within walking distance! Beautiful small hotel right on the water. Hands down the MOST comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept on. Rooms are right on the water with beautiful sunrise views. Would have given 5 stars but the rooms need some updating and minor repairs in the restroom. The staff was incredible and the pool is amazing. I would definitely stay here again. We stayed in the Ohana house and loved it ! The house and kitchen were well stocked with everything we could need, and we really enjoyed having access to the kayaks and bikes.

It was beautiful there, the start of our Hawaii trip. To welcome us there were small treats, flowers and a fully equipped cottage. In addition, there was everything you needed for kayak ing, biking, for the kitchen or the beach incl. coolers. We had a view of the river and would like to come back anytime.

Had the most amazing stay at Fern Grotto Inn. It's a very cozy property with different sized guest houses and cottages. I stayed in CANAL A (Perfect for one person or 2 max). I was welcomed / greeted with a beautiful tropical floral arrangement. There were hibiscus flowers all over the room. I asked for the best ocean view room for my birthday and really got the first room ocean front. To my suprise there were sunrise yoga for free which was the best yoga practice I ever had. We received water bottles and a good water and ice was at lobby for free. Bath products were good quality. My new husband and I recently honeymooned here and we would go back again! Right on the beach, this location is scenic and beautiful! Daily morning yoga, quick grab and go breakfast and bikes to rent. The staff was super helpful and gave us anything we needed. Very nice hotel in a comfortable location, easily accessible with the car and with some options within a walking distance or by bike (available in the hotel to rent). The location and price makes this hotel, as does the amazing free morning yoga. Service wise, it's pretty basic (small coffee, room clean on request, no microwaves, very little sounds proofing on the rooms, etc), but definitely worth it for the ocean front views and easy bus and grocery access. Since their remodel the hotel isn't a great deal anymore. The remodel is nice but only surface. We are retired now, so the new rooms are NOT within our price range anymore. No table and chairs anymore in the room, to eat at or write at. We used to stay for a month; not anymore. We can rent a house for cheaper!

This place was amazing! The beds were super comfortable, felt like home away from home. The sunrise from our porch was absolutely beautiful every morning, there's hammocks, loungers, etc. Pool and hot tub both short walk from each building with snack machine available. Solid location, right next to the beach. The pool was wonderful and they have many activities to do. They just refurbished their tennis court. The rooms are well equipped with amenities. Highly recommend, especially if you’re part of the timeshare. We had a party of 12 in four rooms and no complaints. Located in a god distance from all the island has to offer. Pono Kai was an amazing resort right near town with amazing views and fun amenities. The staff here is incredible. The wonderful people at the front office were exceptional and made you feel like family. We met Arnold Pablo who works with maintenance and he embodied the spirit of aloha and treated us like family on a visit to his house. He helped make our visit very memorable. My husband and I will check out in the morning. Wonderful 6 night stay. Les and Carol are great hosts and full of local knowledge and history. The fresh fruits, local coffees, coconut cookies, and FRESH banana bread with macadamia nuts was great. We were here during historical storms and widespread flooding, but drove to southern beaches and the canyon to find sunshine!! You won't be disappointed....

5 star place room was was very clean had everything a person would need. The room is attached to Carol and Les' house but still very private. The garden is beautiful, peaceful and relaxing plus you have it all to yourself. The room is located in the central part of the island which was perfectly located. It took no longer then an hour to reach either end of the island.

Best Airbnb we stayed by far. Great location and clean place with parking spot and nice little area available in front of the cottage only for you. And inside you have everything you will ever need,even stuff you don't think you need ,haha! Definitely recommended!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 17 Palms in February! Cottages were clean, comfortable, private, and well stocked. Location was ideal- walking distance to beach path, bars and restaurants, farmers market, and shops.
