Nice surprise vacation from the hubbs. Sapphire is where we stayed, a few mosquitoes were nibbling, time of year I think, locals says because of the rain that has had occurred. Over all peaceful and a nice getaway

Always a blast going to this iconic Texas beach. Always beautiful. The water was extra blue before the front blew through and made the water all sandy. Tar on the beach was a hassle, but dawn power sprayer works like a charm. Better than stepping on blue man-o-wars. We went and saw the sea turtles which was so much fun. Set your watch to 9:15pm on Friday and Saturday to catch the fireworks.

My wife and I came down here for our honeymoon. It has been nothing but amazing! First time here and we will definitely be back! Great weather, awesome food!

Nice and generally affordable place to enjoy beautiful beaches and rocket launches. Visit Spacex while you're there... absolutely worthwhile to see the future up close for free.

We loved visiting South Padre Island. The island greets us with its own welcome sign. It is located just right after the Queen Isabel Causeway bridge where the City of Port Isabel is connected to the island. The island's warm tropical climate and white sandy beaches with emerald waters are just mesmerizing. Ample parking is available at every stop. Highly recommend visiting here.

Sad cause view from room couldn't see sun rise. First time at beach had to go down stairs to see or rent a condo $$$$$$ beds and room is small but staff is nice and friendly

This is a great hotel if you have a family and want to enjoy the beach. Not so great if you just want quiet. With that said things were clean, however the hotel was unable to meet my sensory needs. I loved the ocean view. The room was clean, and I, unlike others like that the beds are firm, good for my back. The sofa bed on the contrary was very uncomfortable, you could feel the bed springs. Great location and staff is nice. Free breakfast. 100 yards from the Gulf. Old building. We saw a rat at night run through the pool area. The maid staff didn't change out sheets in four days. We had to get fresh wash clothes from desk every night. Booked 5 days but left one day early. Jacuzzi wasn't working properly.

This was our first time staying at the Isla Grand. We loved our Garden View Cabana. It's a great room when staying with pets! The pool and jacuzzi area is awesome, and the beach is only a few steps away. If there were a microwave in the room, the stay would be even better! The Quarterdeck Lounge has great music, and sports. Upon arrival I thought I had reserved a beach view room. Apparently I didn't I was with 3 of my family members. My cousin mentioned that I have cancer. The ocean view room we stayed in had a damp carpet and smelled stuffy. The bathroom door didn't close properly as well. The hot water went out and I had enough. My wife and I stayed here in 4101. Let me tell you, it was a wonderful experience!! Clean rooms, well furnished and the most beautiful view of the ocean!! Nice place. Rental service takes pretty good care of the location. Not all rooms can see the sunrise and/or sunset but stii a great view of the beach from pretty much ever room. 3 pools, 1 for adults only, which is nice. Multiple tennis courts and 2 small cabana bar and grills in the large pool area. I will most likely stay here again in the future.

This complex is beginning to show its age. One of the pools was completely shut down for renovation. The elevator broke several times during our stay. It would be nice if the pool bar was open year round but it is not. I will try a confo further up the beach next time

Nice and cozy condo that we got for a family of 8. Rooms are spacious, beautiful views from the 6th floor. Easy beach access and two nice heated pools and a larger one that isn't heated. We stayed for a weekend and everything was great, no complaints.

Stayed in room 9143 in Saida II for a long weekend and everything was perfect! Easy 1 minute walk to the beach on the gulf side, with beach chairs and umbrellas available for rent and two showers for cleaning off. Spent five nights April 23-28(off season) not overly crowded, the beach bar next door was quiet, and even though a huge storm went through just as we were getting there and 1/3 of the island lost power, this hotel had power and took great care of everyone. Major benefit is location of the hotel. Amazing beach and great South Parde Island national park. Clean and comfortable rooms with the beach just a good walk away. The rooms are spacious and look very nice. I've stayed several times and the Holiday Inn has never disappointed me. However, as a minor nitpick, the room we got had two beds, when as a couple one would have sufficed. The electrical socket was too close together for both of our phone chargers.

Overall, this place is a good hotel to spend the night after a long day at the beach. But the gentleman in the front desk had zero customer service, not very nice. Breakfast was alright with reasonable selection in the trays. However; our room was very clean and it has a great location.

holiday inn express is a hidden gem away from the busy part of the island. Front desk staff along with the housekeeping is friendly and informative. An older site that looks like it has been kept up with maintenance and painting routinely. Since we visited in December we almost had the place to ourselves. Mellow 75 degree weather. The hot tub was on all of the time and a daily thing along with long walks on the beach right off the property. The kitchen is small but functional. First and foremost, the staff was always willing to help and very friendly. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. The beach is just a small walk away which made it very convenient. I stayed here for two nights with my family and my 2 year old son had the best time playing on the beach. We stayed 5 families. Center place to all the events, foods, rentals etc. Very Large rooms, Large size beds, easily sleeps 3 each queen bed. Nice views, Ample Car parking in second Floor. Manager Mr Bobby very nice and kind. Seems New Management resolved all the existing issues and still offering the same price.

The entrance was not great and a little weird but the room was very spacious and clean. No cockroaches as most people mention. We stayed on the 4th floor. Windows were really dirty so you can’t really see anything outside.

We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. We had a little trouble getting hot water but finally kicked in the 2nd day. Security staff was extremely friendly and very helpfull. The room was clean and was a good size room with small seating area and large bathroom. The bed was super comfortable and the AC worked without any issues. It was only a short walk to the beach and the pool area was nice (and the hot tub was actually hot!). The breakfast had everything needed to get the day started.

Good place to stay, close enough to almost everything to walk to and easy access to the beach, the house keeping is wonderful and very kind, the front desk was rude. Wrist bands were a good idea but they kept falling off and staff would come by and be almost upset if we didn’t have them, quite an annoyance they could have been kinder.

We reserved a 2 bedroom room for our family. This is an older hotel but it's well taken care of and really nice for the age and price. Some minor issues but easily remedied. I had a family trip here last weekend and we stayed in the 2 bedroom 1 bath room. It was much nicer than expected and very reasonably priced. It's under new management so the room was really up to date, clean, and that was very refreshing. Totally recommend!

It's an adult only hotel, with big heated pool and hot tub. Outdoor tiki bar, indoor bar and restaurant with a good menu. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

Amazing quaint hotel less than a block from the beach. The staff are fabulous and help any way they can. The hotel is under new ownership and is being updated. They made sure no one was staying near the rooms being worked on. If you didn't know you wouldn't realize there was work going on. The retro fridge, microwave and coffee pot are amazing. Couldn't understand the $5 Hotel fee was all about. Parking is real tight, pool wasn't heated and hot tub wasn't working. But the room was comfortable,a good nights sleep.

Booked the king suite with bay view with my boyfriend. Great room for the two of us. Clean and close to the beach. Great price. Brought our own soap and towels. The only issue was the tight parking spaces. Otherwise had a great stay and no additional deposits or fees were charged at all! Would definitely recommend for young couples or single people. No complaints!

This was our first stay. We read other reviews and went prepared. Yes, take blankets or a comforter and an extra pillow. The room was fine. There weren't any issues in our stay and the front desk was very accommodating and helpful when we needed a late checkout. That's a nice feature for a small additional fee.
