Our room had no windows or balcony , it felt like a jail room .
Beds were uncomfortable, pillows and mattress not good either , bed squeaky .
Phone was out of order
Lift not practical
Tv was an old and small hidden in an old style cupboard.
Not enough power points in the room .
Location is exceptional though staff were very nice and helpful .
Bathroom was very good 👍🏾

Good hotel, good location. Street parking is available and not too busy.

The hotel itself if fantastic heritage building, I liked the location and historic atmosphere. Be prepared to check-in at the bar, if there is nobody at the reception and to pay for street parking, as hotel parking may be full. The room is nice, a but outdated, but clean, and that is not that bad for heritage hotel

The hotel is located in the center of Ballarat. It was founded in 1853 and still retains the 19th century decoration style. As a historic hotel, the overall environment of the room is clean and tidy, and the facilities are well maintained.
The hotel staff is very enthusiastic and will introduce the various facilities of the hotel in detail when checking in.
Parking is available at the door of the hotel, and you need to pay for more than one hour during the day. The hotel also has an old-fashioned elevator that makes people feel like traveling through history.

I paid a high price for the retro style after seeing the pictures and checked in that night, but I was very disappointed!
First of all, the front desk on the first floor is not as big as the bar counter, and there is no one. We waited for more than ten minutes and finally the bar aunt helped us check in. The lobby is connected to a cheap **, and there are groups of drunkards at night...
The room cost nearly 2,000 RMB, the walls were moldy everywhere, the curtains were covered with dust, there was no hair dryer, no toothbrush or toothpaste... The bed was so old that it creaked... In addition, there was actually an attic! ! There were spider webs on it. No kidding, I thought I was here to play an escape room. It was too gloomy and I didn't dare to turn off the lights

I would say I have some mixed feelings about this hotel. I like the building; it is truly a historical building. However, there is a lack of staff. I sometimes have to wait for the staff. Other than that, I loved the room. The hardware is great, but the software issue caused an overall error.

Best boutique hotel ever. Stay at craig's royal hotel Feels like you fall in into history. Every inches of the hotel is so exquisite.

Shared high tea with my daughter very disappointed with it. I have been to several in other places never been let down but I opted for orange juice but it appeared to be a powder mixed with water certainly wasn't juice, sandwiches bread far too thick fillings boring, crusts should be cut off. Sausage rolls too peppery and no sauce offered. Scones were nice would have liked strawberries in the jam. High tea is a classy, elegant occasion. The room and china were lovely as to be expected. I will give you a quote from Dame Nellie Melba when asked what she sang to the public. "Sing them muck ". And sadly this is the attitude of the high tea. For the price people deserve better.
