Worst hospitality in town!

I went there to have lunch with a few friends who came to visit (I have a place for my own). Manager came and said I had to go right now. Potatoes were boiling already.

I kindly said I was sorry, I didn’t know about that policy. So I went to reception to present myself and clarify that I was going to be there for a few hours to have lunch. The manager said that it’s no business for them to have people from outside using the kitchen.

I get it, it won’t give you any money, but your guests will feel at home if they bring friends to share a meal mate. I understand but I don’t agree.

Then I said I was going to grab my stuff and leave, he came straight away and kicked me out in a bad way, even though I was already leaving with my stuff in my hands.

You gotta learn how to treat your guests mate, that’s no good hospitality service.

There is plenty of witnesses able to prove what I stated, so please don’t lie, this is an honest review.

As I didn’t know about the policy, when I was informed that I had to leave I went to reception to identify myself. It is a normal practice in the Hostel Industry that non-guests identify themselves in reception to stay for a few hours with the guests in the premises. I worked as a receptionist for over a year.

When I was told that this was not possible, I agreed to leave but I said I was going to leave a bad review. In this moment the receptionist got mad at me and words were exchanged between us. He literally followed me out menacing me, even though I was walking outside through the carpark.

Reviews are the only way to let you guys know you’re doing things wrong. Sorry about that.

What can I say. When we arrived the bathroom was completely dirty and disgusting. The mattresses are uncomfortable and you feel like you are laying on wood. In the kitchen are maggots on the ceiling. They are crawling everywhere to get some food and you have to be scared that they fall on your head. The pictures from online are not like the real life. Even after two times cleaning a day, the bathroom is still dirty and you don’t want to go in there. All in all I can’t recommend this hostel we have been in quite a few and it was way better than here.

Rooms are gross. There were ants all over my room. The bathroom is terrible. The main problem being that there's only one bathroom for 10 people. The airconditioning wasn't working. The kitchen was disgusting, especially the tables. The only positives are the location & the vibe. It's right in the centre, close to everything. The café next door is also nice. It's a very social hostel. The free dinners and activities are a great way to meet people.

I would have thought it reasonable to be informed when booking or at the latest when checking in that a private party was being held in the courtyard of the night of our booking. Very loud techno babble being played until 11.20pm impossible to sleep.or even relax. Bar area very crowded with queues at the bar, so gave up trying to get a beer. Very disappointed, will not stay there again. Also no hot water!

Despite clean rooms with towels etc. Poor value for money ie. Expensive
