aircon fan on the balcony blowing like a desert wind, and at lunchtime in Mackay it is the desert, with ocean views. Turned it off at the wall and all good. Just don’t forget to turn it back on!

We've stayed here 3 times in the last 6ish months. Level 3, level 4 and level 6. We do love the views. The corner rooms are the best facing the river and ocean. Was ok, for a modern 2 bedroom apartment I expected more. The fly screens were covered in dust. The bathrooms looking a bit dated for a fairly modern place. Swollen doors, not closing well etc. Arranged twice prior to arrival to have the kids room with 2 single beds but despite this housekeeping forgot and we eventually were given a stack of bedding. We were going to do it ourselves but didn't do it...

Enjoyed our stay at the Pacific Sands in Mackay. The staff were great and flexible as we had an after hours arrival and arranged for the keys to be in a secure location for us to pick up. This motel is a great stopover. Well appointed, clean, fresh aroma, crisp sheets on comfortable beds. Meals are tasty and generous. Owners friendly and helpful. Lovely to have our toy poodle allowed in the room.

Stayed in a pet friendly room with the doggo. Older building but with very neatly refurbished rooms - including a charming quartz feature wall in the bathroom! Hosts were wonderful and very accommodating, and their meals from the kitchen exquisite. All at very reasonable rates. Would not go past this place if stopping in Mackay.

Booked in for 1 night and arrived just as they were closing the kitchen, they kept it open for us an even brought our meals to our room. Awsome meals and affordable too. Excellent service, great size bed and shower pressure was amazing. Would definitely recommend staying here.

After a long drive, a cup of coffee was needed. Lisa was very friendly and nothing a problem. The room was good, very clean. Our meals were good. Only thing would have been nice to have walked in to a cool room. I recommend this motel to anyone.

The staff made you feel so welcome. We loved the fact that we were able to have our 12 year old dog in the room with us. I found the room quite lovely. The room was clean, spacious and the bathroom was great. The TV had Netflix, the pillows were comfortable. The complimentary breakfast is nice to have on the go and the service was really helpful.

Ideal location. There's a walking track next to the motel. Restaurants & night-life is within a short walking distance. Unusually quiet given its central location.

The staff, Bella & Belinda, communicated well with us and gave the right amount of information at the right time for us. This is a very important detail for me. Staff are friendly and helpful. I've stayed here a couple of times while my mum has been recovering from surgery and it's a great location. Walking distance to the shopping centre, blue lagoon & park. Room was clean & house keeping were great. Beds are comfortable. All in all its definitely great for the price.

Good parking, very close to the shops, very good internet. The only downside is the mosquitoes in the afternoon being next to a river it's going l to happen but if you're inside it's not a worry.

Overnight stay at Mid City Inn and it was great. Loved that the Inn provided moisturizer😊 already to go. Location was perfect and central to the shops and town centre. Shopping ventre was literally less than 5minutes.

The food came out too late. Instant potato was slapped on the plate vegetables cold the rump steak was sliced too thin was not well done and very bloody. The salad was half a place of lettuce and 2 small pieces of cucumber and half a Cherry tomato. Poor service then we were asked to pay for the tomato sauce. We showed staff the meat but nothing was done very upset customer

We loved it. So spacious for our 4 kids. It was felt really homie. 1 Min walk to beautiful beach. Kids loved hop scotch. Downside is we never had enough time to enjoy it more. But we will be back. Thank you for pleasurable stay. You will see us again.

All the ammenaties that one could possibly need. Spa, 2 pools, tennis courts and a 500 meter walk to the beach. Neat and tidy units with lots of space and very affordable. Highly recommend and a great place to stay

We had a family room with 1 double and 3 single. The double was seperated by a divider so the aircon didn't reach there because it was over the singles area. Room was clean. Pool looked nice. We stayed overnight in a family room and we arrived outside business hours. The room was nice and the beds were very comfortable. The pool is nice, the kids loved it. Nebo Rd is a very handy location to stay (that's why there's so many motels in the area). Everything was tidy and well presented. We were really happy with the accommodation and we would definitely stay there again.

Basic but clean and comfortable room. Good option for any road trip stop. On-site restaurant was handy and the service was very good. Shower recess in our room (110) showing signs of age with rust evident where it meets the floor. Couldn't pick up the FTA TV channels with error message "No signal available" on every channel.

The room was serviceable, clean and the beds were extremely comfy...there are beverages in fridge that you can purchase. The bathroom was a bonus for someone who needs room to navigate a shower. Air con was good but no fans to circulate air...has a pool and a restaurant...all in all .. a good place to rest your head and stay for a while.

Well worth staying at Mackay Rose Hotel. Great country hospitality from Lynda and John with nothing too much trouble. The food at the in venue restaurant was spectacular and exceptional value. booked four large family rooms, rooms were clean and bathrooms are renovated and nice. late check-in was easy and convenient. Covered parking is 2.4 m only so had to park my van on street. linen and towels were clean. Great price and good place to stay.

Comfortable beds, close to shops & only 5 minutes drive to Canelands Shopping Centre.

The front desk was super friendly gave me a tip on local food! The room is much better then other places I've stayed in mackay and it's a much smaller walk to the pub. Very happy with the room and the service provided 👍

Just completed an extended stay at Lantern Motor Inn with our son having stayed in hospital. Phil and Sandi were brilliant hosts, tending to everything we requested outside of a standard motel stay at a sensitive time. Will stay here every time we go to Mackay now. Highly recommend to anyone.

One of the best accommodation we've had during our road trip. Rooms were very clean, quite spacious, a large bathroom sink table area. Loved the tiles and wooden look of the cupboards. Parking was available. Had a good sleep here. Price was reasonable. We will return, and can highly recommend to anyone passing or staying in Mackay.

We then found Cool Palms, heaven sent Wayan answered out call 8ish that night. We got a family room for a good price, warmly welcomed by both Anne and Wayan. It does the job for a motel. We only stopped in the one night on our way through to Cairns on a family trip. Staff were friendly and accommodating. It's in a very central location which makes it great for an overnight stop, though can get a little noisy at night. Overall, a decent place to crash for the night, and even has a pool!

Although it's not a flash, modern motel it was very clean and had nice decor- we would definitely stay again. We loved our stay in our caravan at Blacks Beach caravan park. The staff were so friendly , everything was clean and well looked after. Location was great being right on the beach ,small shops within walking distance and larger shops a short drive away. Look forward to staying here again.

Fantastic park, good tidy amenities, nice pool area, well kept grounds, great staff and great location right on the beach, great views. We were lucky enough to see two dolphins swim by and put on a show. I would definitely stay again.

Loved this park. Amenities were very clean and modern. Laundry was fantastic. Great friendly staff and Jac's Coffee and Taco van at the gate all make this a great place to stay. Plenty for kids to do with a beautiful pool, water park, peddle carts etc.
