Margarets Beach Resort

Stayed at Margaret's Beach Resort for the fourth time. Previous stays have been enjoyable however we chose to leave a day earlier than planned due to disappointing standard of cleanliness (stained carpet, cobwebs, dust, yellow stains around spa vents), state of fixtures (completely broken toilet and cracked power point) and room layout (bathrooms in bedrooms with no door for privacy - rooms smelled of mould and one bed sprayed with water every time shower was on). Not to mention no view and right beside cleaning station. If all of the two bedroom townhouses are like this I have no idea how this place could be getting five star reviews. We did get a phone call from the manager after we left enquiring as to why we had left early. After I provided our reasons, he said it all could have been fixed if I'd let him know earlier, as he would have just "swapped someone else from another room into our room".. so some other poor family would be put into a sub-standard room?? This was his solution. Oh, we did get offered a credit for a nights stay (which I explained to him we'll never use so no point). Way over priced, this is a 3 star hotel at best. We won't be back.
