Super 8 by Wyndham Winnipeg East MB

I had a great stay at this Super 8 location during my time in Winnipeg while visiting a friend. My room was super clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The amenities the hotel offered were superb, and I truly appreciated the free breakfast, the options were truly great and I enjoyed making my own giant waffle. The breakfast kitchen did get rather crowded at times as well! The only minor problem I had when I stayed was that there were flies in the breakfast kitchen, and I had to keep swatting them away which got to be a bit frustrating. Thankfully, it seems as though the problem was handled towards the latter half of my stay. This location seems to be in an area surrounded by highway, and the airport is pretty far away so it's not exactly easy to get to tourist locations or popular shopping areas without the aid of a vehicle, and in my case I simply utilized Uber. The view from my room was also great, I enjoyed watching the sun rise. When I return to Winnipeg I will most definitely seek out this location once again. I had a great time, and wish I could have stayed longer. But we all have to return home eventually! Thanks for making stay abroad a great one.

This is a great place to stay for anyone! Seniors, families with children/pets or young adults looking for economy & location! Great hot buffet breakfast served every morning from 0600-1000, comfortable beds with efficiency suite style amenities…fridge, stove-top and microwaves. We’ll definitely be back again! What an AMAZING facility and stay. The hotel was CLEAN. I think his name was Blaine that checked us in- he was so friendly & polite. We got little goodie bags for the pets upon check in which is such a nice touch. I’ve been so anxious about having to move across the country with my pets & my family so it was so nice to feel my animals were so welcomed. Breakfast was included & hot which was also nice. Our room was sparkling clean. Also lots of green space to walk the animals for bathroom breaks. Would definitely be back to stay here!

Stayed here recently with my family for 6 nights while visiting relatives in Winnipeg.

Location: great location, on the outskirts of Wpg, quiet for traffic, no construction in that area (unlike most major streets in Wpg). Beside a train yard so there are sounds of trains but we like that sound so didn't bother us. The parking lot and building is lit up very well at night.

Hotel: a newer hotel, so not run down, and clean inside. Friendly staff. Some complain that there is no housekeeping offered everyday. I don't see an issue with that. We didn't require housekeeping for our suite during our stay, we are not messy people. When we required new towels they provided that. Our suite had flooring and not carpet which is great and seems cleaner vs carpet. Also, as this hotel accepts pets we wouldn't want a room with carpet that houses pets as well due to allergies.

Great pool for kids, but can fill up quickly so we preferred to use it when fewer people present.

Breakfast: the daily breakfast is a great perk. Good selection of choices. We enjoyed the waffle maker and berries. Usual choices such a cereal, toast, yoghurt. Eggs and ham or bacon or sausages depending on the day.

Daughter really enjoyed the slushie maker left out in the afternoon/evening left out for guests to use for free.

While we there the hotel was busy enough and the first floor seemed to have been occupied by evacuees from up north fires. There was also security present on the first floor. Regular groupings of people hanging out in the foyer and outside in the front to smoke but didn't really concern us as we didn't hang out in the hotel for long as we had busy days.

Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel. We would stay here again.

I stayed three nights in a pet-friendly room with my dog. I was pleased with how sparkling clean the entire facility was. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and quiet and nicely decorated. There was a set of dog dishes and a dog bed to make my pet feel at home as well. There is a pet walking station at the edge of the parking lot with a poo bag dispenser and garbage can. We didn't hear any road or railroad noise inside the room. I can't speak to the breakfast because I didn't partake in it, but it smelled delicious when walking by. I will definitely stay again next time I'm in Winnipeg.

This place perfectly suited our family of 6. While our kids are older (21,19,17 and 12) they still loved the jungle theme room! The air conditioning was fabulous. The room was clean and spacious. The front staff were super friendly and breakfast was 👍. This is a great stop on the way across Canada and a great price! We would totally stay here again and would recommend it!

Our only concern was the shower “stall”. The design (half door style) allows a lot of water splashing all over the bathroom floor so we had to use towels effectively. A sliding door style would be more effective.

The people here are so nice. The room is way more than I expected... it is very clean and up to date. Love the fact that they have floors and not carpet. It is right on the Trans Canada so it is very convenient. The hot tub is large. And if you forget something, they GIVE it to you!!! Like deodorant.

Pros...
Front staff was friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was decent.
Pool was nice.
It's within a 10 min drive of a large variety of restaurants

Cons...Hot tub jets were very weak, could hardly tell they were on.
When we checked in we were informed that our room was a pet friendly room, even though we didn't have a pet with us. Not a big deal, we don't have allergies.... the issue is that the room smelled like dog.
It's right next to a train yard and you could hear the squealing and banging all night

However, the cons weren't that big of a deal. I would stay here again.

Love this place. The rooms are immaculate, clean, modern and very spacious. Free breakfast is also the best. The rel hero those is the management and staff. Had an issue with my credit card, allowed me to give a cash damage deposit instead even tho that's no longer a thing for them. Drove two solid days to get back to the city due to some family issues and I can't say enough how understanding and accommodating they were for me.
