Hotel room was very clean. Wifi was quick. Service was friendly and fast. The restaurant was also nice since we were pretty wearing from traveling. The venison Gulasch with Knödel is great!!! You should definitely try it. The restaurant is cozy and the menu prices are pretty good value, not too expensive not too cheap either.

The room was brand new, perfect, clean, quiet, modern and had a great TV screen. (we stayed in the coach house) Enough parking spaces. The breakfast was the best we ever had; all you can think off and more all fresh and tasty; even several vegan options! Specific needs will be fulfilled no questions asked. We also had dinner twice this was Michelin star worthy!!

Anyone looking for a place of rest and relaxation has come to the right place at FreiWerk. The house is beautifully located on the edge of Stolberg, right in the middle of nature. The very attentive service and the extremely good kitchen made us feel completely at home. Absolutely deserved 5 *!

We have been to Freiwerk many times now. It is always characterized by its consistently excellent service and the quality of the food is consistently excellent. What is particularly great is that the card is constantly being renewed, which means that it doesn’t take a long time to come up. The barbecue brunch on Sundays in summer was also great and super relaxed in this great location.

Stolberg is a nice little town to visit and location of hotel is almost at mid-point of town. The room was good and clean. The staff at reception were really nice, welcoming, and helpful.

If you're looking for a old fashioned hotel, this is the place. So everything is old, except the wellness section which is the only reason we choose this hotel.

One of the beat hotels I stayed at on my 3 week journey through Germany. The restraunt has great food and a wonderful breakfast. The town is as good as Rothenburg ,but not as busy. The crown jewel of this hotel I would say is THE POOL. look for the buttons on the wall below the water surface. There are 6 of them. 6 different things happen. Be amazed. We didnt want to leave the pool.

The place itself is a dream. In October / November there is nothing as relaxing and quieter than Stolberg. We were now already 5 times over there and in the Chancellor. Says it all really. Nice little hotel. Rooms are newly designed and furnished. The breakfast buffet and the menu selection in the evenings as part of half-board are plentiful, varied and very good. In addition, drinks are included during mealtimes. The staff are very careful and courteous. Well suited for children, as there is a playground, a game reserve and soon a pool. We would come back.

This is a typical tourist hotel with the facilities you would expect for families with children. We took advantage of the sauna area and enjoyed the four types of sauna. Breakfast was served in the restaurant. However, there weren't enough places to sit in the restaurant area, so a few tables had been placed in the hallway outside. This would have been okay, if only there had also been put some brighter...

We stayed one night at the Hotel Harzresidenz in December 2025. The room was clean, but unfortunately, there was some mold in the shower. The sauna was closed, which surprised us, as there were very few guests at the hotel overall, and it wouldn't have been profitable for the hotel to have it open. Breakfast was very good. The staff member was very attentive and friendly. The surroundings are beautiful...

The hotel is idyllically situated in the middle of the forest, and the conservatory, where breakfast is served, offers a lovely view. The sauna is also very nice. Unfortunately, everything seems a bit neglected, and the owners appear to be newcomers to the industry. They are very friendly and accommodating but need to pay more attention to the details.

We had booked the apartment/holiday apartment with two bedrooms. We didn't realize that this wasn't directly in the hotel, but 1km further away in Haus Tannengrün. When we arrived, the bed in the second bedroom was unmade. But it was done quickly after calling. The second bedroom is not directly in the apartment, but on the ground floor and you have to go through the hallway. May be difficult for families...

A wonderful hotel.. Not only do the rooms and the atmosphere score points, the surroundings are fantastically beautiful.. I can definitely recommend.... The room was very spacious with 2 double beds (we were 3 people), with enough space for luggage and belongings. The breakfast was great and the staff thoughtful. They offered free parking at the place and it"s really close to all touristic places of the city. Recommend.

The Hotel has good transport links. For cars, Parking spaces are enough available, which are located behind the Hotel. It is these Parking directly input to visit because the main Parking is scarce.
