Absolutely lovingly run hotel in the outskirts. Excellent breakfast that leaves nothing to be desired

Actually, the landlady doesn't know anything about vegan eating habits. Nevertheless, she let us explain everything to her, went shopping and conjured up a vegan breakfast for us. Very great! We only got the room because the pension we first asked about didn't have any more vacancies. In order to help us, the landlady of the Birken house was called and helped us. We got to know the people in Bad Steben...

Small but great hotel above average ir you are in a budget plan. The locación is ok as is not as near to the therme which is the Main atraction Of the place but 6 blocks away cant be so bad. The hotel also have antes in Dior pool, a whirpool, and sauna free of Charge. What else? A Nice breakfast. The facilities are clean and the staff is si Nice and helpful. Im leaving more than satisfied.

To be a pension and to be in Germany, I honestly think that staying here is a great option for rooms would be cool in the style but for the cleanliness, the breakfast and the comfort nothing to say, the kindest hosts I have found it just fine

Hotel to feel good with a lot of beautifully decorated interior. Hotel was visited out of season, but nothing was missing. The breakfast buffet was rich and varied. Owners catered to personal requests. The evening menu with small dishes was well sorted. Overall conclusion: highly recommended

Beautiful little hotel. Nice staff and great food, not the largest selection, but what there is is great. Scenic and quiet location with parking spaces at the house. For hiking and everyday forget great. We would come again in a heartbeat, if time permits.

The Landhotel Café Mortlau is located just outside Bad Steben on the edge of the forest. Here you can enjoy the peace and quiet and the closeness to nature. There are many hiking trails. And sights if you like to travel by car. There is something for everyone at the Bad Steben thermal baths. After swimming we relax in the very nice sauna area Pure relaxation. We are here for the 6th time. 👍😊

An insider tip I actually didn't want to write a recession so that it wouldn't overflow. The food 4.5 stars. The room was always very clean and the mattress can also be rated as good. It is a journey back in time to the 80s but with charm. The boss on site is a very competent lady who shows a lot of love for the customers. I think the hotel is exceptionally good.

Nice little hotel, nice spacious rooms and a very nice hostess who also cooks well We were there with the motorcycles. After the tour you can sit comfortably in the restaurant. We'll definitely be back sometime. Greetings to Ms. Weiss

Located directly at the spa park - so the sounds of the spa concert may also be audible. Otherwise, however, very quiet area (traffic-calmed). At the moment the hotel prices are a bit out of the norm, so not necessarily the cheapest room. Good breakfast buffet and good modern room facilities.

Descent room with coffee/tea making facilities which is rare these days, so that was a nice surprise. The restaurant had a good menu with a nice selection of local dishes. The breakfast was boring, and not a lot to choose from fx no fresh fruit or vegetables, but the bread was nice. Quality hotel is my favourite hotel when I arrive to Hof. I visit Hof every year at Christmas time and always sleep here.

My husband and i were given a single room on the first floor overlooking the bar next door. It was noisy but we couldn't even close the window because the room (and i think the hotel in general) doesn't have A/C. For 4 star they advertised it's not acceptable However i assume it's common for the small town in Europe. The room had a standind fan. The hotel is old and outdated - need a serious refurbish...

The hotel is quite good. The staff is kind and helpful. The only issue to consider is the hotel has no air conditioning. So when it is above 30 degrees, only vans can cool you down.

Hotel located directly opposite the theater, with its own parking spaces. Room with comfortable bed, armchair a bit low, bathroom with bathtub. Small, beautifully designed wellness area on the upper floor. Good breakfast selection. Very friendly service.

Yesterday we had our summer party (company) with Josha, Edi and his team. Great great great. Delicious food, full attention in service and a great location. Can only recommend. Every Thursday there is a barbecue evening and on Sunday there is lunch. Stop by, it's worth it 😊

Sehr freundliches Personal, wir wurden herzlich empfangen. Zimmer waren sauber, sehr bequemes Bett. Frühstück war auch sehr gut, man hat zusätzlich auf Wunsch noch Brötchen erhalten. Die Lage ist wunderbar. Man kann sich sehr erholen, entweder läuft man um den See, für die Kinder ist ein toller Spielplatz und ein Fussballfeld. Wir können es sehr empfehlen! Kommen gerne wieder .

I like it here because I am Lorry driver and here with truck you can park (If you are quest in hotel) 10 min walking to the a stores and city not big but it is beautiful and calm😊. The property was very clean. The breakfast was tasty and well presented. Even though the water in the room was not hot, I would reccomend this hotel to other solo travelers.

The stay was excellent and breakfast plentiful and enjoyable It is a short 20 minutes walk into town which is just as well because in the heat or rain it is all but impossible to order a taxi even though the hotel staff tried their best. The only criticism of the hotel is that although I did not want my sheets changed daily, I would have at least wanted the bed made each day.

I wouldn't stay here in summer again, the room is unbearable and there's no Aircon. Woke up in a boiling room at 6am, great fun

Gotta say..I am pretty luck to live near this place. Siebenquell is my go to place for the winter. Enjoy the hot spring pool when the weather is below 0 degrees is amazing!! This place has it all!! 😉🤙🌟⚜

Great rooms, all clean, nice fun areas for swimming, very nice staff. The dinner we booked, probably because of Corona, was not that great, we knew better from previous visits! Commendable, steak restaurant. We would still love to go back!!!!

Very nice modern rooms and a great bar with a cozy atmosphere. The food in the hotel restaurant was also very good and the service was very polite. Be sure to visit the thermal baths. The sauna area is beautiful, quiet and beautifully decorated. We were delighted and would like to return.

Great place, good food, high quality and helpfully staff. However, on weekends there is no public transportation to the place. And the hotel does not offer a shuttle service to the next train station (abt. 24km).

A spotlessly clean hotel with lovely spacious rooms in the the main building. The staff were all fantastic and very friendly. Our only problem was the weird room perfume in our room. We removed it as quickly as possible, but the room still stank of it so much that we had to leave the window open the whole night.

We love this hotel. it was the second time we went to Bayreuth Festspiele and stayed here. It is very peaceful, great scenery, comfortable beds, great breakfast. You get snacks and drinks before opera and can have the transfer to the opera and back. Late-night dinner is specially organized for guests. Very much looking towards staying here again next year!

We were tucked away in the dependence where we had no view and a tiny room. But the swimming pool in the main building made up for it. The pool area was unconsciably overheated and the water measured 35 degrees Celsius.Man you could almost cook a lobster in that.Seriously, we had the pool all to ourselves and it was a godsend for my aching bursitis. Beautiful location which is very quiet to relax and destress 🙏🏾. The stuff is super friendly and speaks English for English speaking visitors.

We spent a week at the Heissinger Hotel for the festival. A very well maintained hotel. Spacious room (suite) with a terrace and river views. Very comfortable beds and impeccable morning service. The breakfast is excellent: quality products and plentiful. We also had a closed garage. We will definitely come back.

Very nice hotel with exceptionally friendly service and personal care from the owners and staff. The room was a good size and furnished. The balcony offered a beautiful view of the city and the Ölschnitz River. The very good breakfast with fresh fruit and plenty of coffee is an additional recommendation. The parking lot at no additional cost was also great. We would definitely like to come back.

We had a suite in the castle. The ambience was something special. We liked it very much. If you don't like something like that, you should book a room in the guesthouse. The breakfast was varied. There was enough parking space.

Lovely castle hotel with very friendly and warm service. The rooms and bathrooms are large. In the bathroom they have nice amenities: cotton balls, cotton swabs, hair dryer etc. the castle grounds have a playground for children, archery, and volleyball. I think the website does not do the place justice. Very nice and highly recommend.

Very nice restaurant above Saalfeld. Tasteful ambience. Beautifully arranged plates and while eating you can taste the love and skill of the kitchen. Guaranteed taste explosion on the tongue. Very warm service makes you feel good. If you want to eat well, you have to come here.

Cute hotel in a good location. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped, and clean. The parking garage is quite small and cramped, not really suitable for SUVs. Street parking is free from 6:00 PM to 8:00 AM. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our four-night stay was very relaxing and flawless. Many thanks again to the hotel!

Very nice location and friendly staff. The room was ok but already worn out. The bathroom is very, very small and there is no shower for wide or handicapped people. And I think the price is very expensive and that without breakfast.

Had a lovely stay there for 2 nights. Very friendly staff. I had a double room facing the inner courtyard with blinds. The bed was a bit soft for me personally. And the bathroom, especially the shower cubicle, was very small. But there are worse things. The breakfast is rich and fresh. Every guest gets fresh scrambled eggs (if they want). You can reach everything you need on foot.

We have been there for four days for personal reasons and the hotel is quite old and not ready for disabled people. The hotel service is terrible. They didn't make the rooms and we found the bed to be made and the towels on the floor, we said so and they told us to put a sign on the door. The next day we put the sign on the door and they didn't do our room either. We had to be angry. Disaster

Great location in the center of Saalfeld, decent albeit outdated rooms. I was almost too tall to stand in the shower/toilet box which was also a bit smelly. First time I’d ever seen a bathroom in a box. Bicycles can be securely stored in the basement/garage with limited access. Very friendly reception. Overall good value.

On the first view you feel like the hotel is too old but its just looks like. Reception is very dark and I belive if you change reception (as a place ) that can bring better first impression. The location is the big plus and the price was alright too, but the hotel itself, well. As many others have said, it's in need for a renovation. I had a room with the depressing view of the backyard. Rooms only get cleaned on request, despite staying there for a week. The locks are flimsy and the walls thin.

The hotel manager was so gracious. He tried to do everything for us. Put our sagging flowers in a vase with fresh water. Room was spacious and lots of light. Bathroom in the small side but good enough. Shower was hot and good flow. Room clean. Priced very well and you cannot beat the location. Walk up stairs.

As everyone else has said, great location, fair price, very nice room, but the biggest highlight for us was the excellent service and the lovely breakfast! Breakfast is a small extra fee but absolutely worth it, you should do it.

The restaurant is either understaffed or the staff in place is really inefficient... Started when we arrived, we waited for about 10 minutes standing in the doorway. It seems that to make a 90s show of a flamed meat was more important than taking 15 seconds to send us to a table... Each time some new customer arrived it was a drama, with waiter rolling their eyes and acting like it would be impossible...
