Pleasant accommodations. Friendly staff. Clerk speaks English well. Only odd thing is that reservations for dinner must be made by 10am and there are only two choices. However, the dinner I had was very good.

Very pleasant and well maintained. The room was excellent and the bathroom made to a very high standard. The hotel was very good value for money. A leisurely ten minute walk from the town centre.

Nice and quiet hotel, tasty breakfast and from some rooms you can see the Alps. Too bad the Wi-Fi is very unreliable, making it impossible for me to work.

Everything was good. Thr menu is not really my style but apart from that it was excellent.

It was a relaxing day. Friendly and helpful hosts. Nice garden, nice ambience, clean rooms. Delicious breakfast, the only drawback from our point of view, the coffee was a bit too thin, but the cappuccino tasted good.

This is basically an old people's home. Which made it very, very quiet at night. Pleasant welcoming staff though. The wifi in public areas is only 4 mb/s.

The location, the friendliness of the owners and staff, the whirlpool outside. Everything is always perfect for us.

The innkeepers are extremely friendly, the rooms are beautifully designed in a modern country house style and you have a super well-kept dreamlike garden with a swimming pond, loungers and an open garden fireplace for long evenings in summer

We spent a weekend here and were very pleasantly surprised - the hotel is really lovingly run. In particular, the garden is a dream, the breakfast was delicious and the owner gave us a really warm welcome

It is clearly one of the most beautiful guesthouses I've ever stayed in, and I don't think the other highly praised descriptions of others do it justice

With regard to the location, we recommend arriving by car, as it is somewhat more difficult to get to the nearby hiking areas by public transport

Quite superb . Spotlessly clean . Rooms very well appointed . Sauna and swimming pool , which I didn't get to use . A very good breakfast. 10-15 minutes walk to the centre. I will return !

George, his wife and staff did everything to make our stay comfortable and fulfilling - the breakfast buffet is especially noteworthy for it's quality and selection

Just remodeled, great rooms, most with balconies, good rates, breakfast in morning, spa, walking distance to downtown Bad Tolz, highly recommend!

I had the white asparagus and Weiner Schnitzel while Grant enjoyed the home made ravioli. For dessert I devoured the chocolate mousse and Grant had the homemade parfait. The rooms are spacious with a modern bathroom

Reception happily helped us with information about day trips and also provided 'guest cards' which enabled us to travel on the bus, visit some museums for free and get a discount on the Blomberg mountain chair lift

Stayed there overnight with my bicycle (May 2024). Could store my bicycle in a safe place. Nice restaurant with friendly service. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Many thanks & I definitely would come back.

Hotel am Wald was a delightful end to our chilly cycle from Munich. The pool/sauna was a pleasant surprise but the true treat was meeting co-owner Elizabeth and her husband Peter

We had a nice apartment in the next house. Everything is very clean and well-kept. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good and if the weather is right, you can have breakfast outside on the terrace

Clean, comfortable hotel in the countryside, but near to many trails and lakes. Good location for hiking, but a few km to restaurants in Lenggries (3km) or Bad Tolz (6km). Helpful & friendly owner
