Hotel am Wald

Stayed there overnight with my bicycle (May 2024). Could store my bicycle in a safe place. Nice restaurant with friendly service. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Many thanks & I definitely would come back.

Hotel am Wald was a delightful end to our chilly cycle from Munich. The pool/sauna was a pleasant surprise but the true treat was meeting co-owner Elizabeth and her husband Peter. We enjoyed a delicious meal. I had the white asparagus and Weiner Schnitzel while Grant enjoyed the home made ravioli. For dessert I devoured the chocolate mousse and Grant had the homemade parfait. The rooms are spacious with a modern bathroom. Our balcony overlooks a local ski hill that still has snow in April. Let's hope we don't have too much snow on our cycle to Salzburg. It was overall a good stay, nice and quiet hotel with a good vibe, great food. There was also a sauna and pool for use. Only thing that could have improved my stay any further would be air conditioning in the room, it got pretty hot during the night.

Comfortable rooms, very clean. But the most imressive was the hotel staff. Great, friendly, and very accomodating. I would absolutly stay here again.

A family friend recommended this hotel and it more than lived up to its excellent reviews. My sister and I were greeted warmly and everything including the facilities offered (pool and sauna) was explained to us clearly in English. The room with terrace was lovely, the beds very comfortable and the bathroom with powerful shower extremely efficient with a lovely line of complimentary spa products to use. The breakfast buffet menu catered for a wide range of tastes and the friendly staff made every effort to ensure guests were happy. We had three dinners at the hotel and all of the meals exceeded our expectations. Elizabeth Fritz came and explained the menu choices and every dish was truly delicious. Our Easyjet return flight to London was cancelled 3 hours before departure and Peter Fritz assisted us in extending our stay for another 3 nights as we were unable to book any other flight before then. Reception happily helped us with information about day trips and also provided 'guest cards' which enabled us to travel on the bus, visit some museums for free and get a discount on the Blomberg mountain chair lift. The hotel was within walking distance of the Marketstrasse and we discovered different ways of walking there and back to the hotel. We highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate booking again for future trips to Bad Tolz.

This is a lovely hotel. Absolutely spotless with fantastic food at reasonable prices. Very friendly and helpful staff who speak English . Set in a great location near the centre - but far enough away to be quiet and neat incredible scenery. Would highly recommended.

Our stay at Hotel Am Wald was wonderful! The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent. We enjoyed two dinners and a breakfast. The owner even baked my husband some gluten free bread, she remembered him being gluten free from our previous dinner conversation. We highly recommend a stay at this charming hotel.

Nice hotel with a excellent sauna and pool area. The pool was 31C. The staff were excellent and tried to assist with any questions. They also had a excellent breakfast buffet and dinner menu.

The Hotel am Wald is another hotel that we've stayed in a few times this year on cycling trips. Lots of great things to say about this hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff, it's a family run hotel so you'll almost certainly meet the owners. Rooms are very nice and comfortable, and there's a great sauna/spa area downstairs. Caters exceptionally well for cyclists with a secure shed and garage available. We turned up completely soaked, on possibly the wettest day I've ever cycled in, and they were fantastic, letting us use their boiler room to dry out all our wet clothes. Nice restaurant downstairs, and good breakfast in the morning.
