Well-placed for old Bayreuth and offers a well-priced shuttle bus service to and from the Opera, with a complimentary glass of Sekt beforehand. Lovely staff and indoor (and limited outdoor) parking. Gym, sauna and restaurant. V good breakfast.

Room and bathroom clean but rather dated. Woodchip wallpaper painted yellow. Crack in one wall. Furniture a bit dated. A bit like staying in student accommodation from 30 years ago. Bar and reception staff very helpful and efficient. Didn’t eat breakfast in the hotel because it was fairly pricey and alternatives within walking distance. Hotel was in a good location.

Room was very outdated, pillows felt as if they had been there since the hotel opened its doors 30 odd years ago and didn’t offer any support, my head was on the mattress most of the night.. Apart from that the staff was friendly and location was good.

Was looking for hotel with 2 beds and air conditioning and landed on this one. Last minute trip changes so we were left with limited options. It is an old hotel but the room was clean and the air worked well. Parking was easy with free parking as well as parking deck if free area is full.

Ok but silverfish in the room. One night stopover. Squeky bed and several silverfish spotted in the room getting up at 5AM. Room 207 for reference.

We spend a night at this hotel when we had opera tickets in August. The hotel is well geared up for the festival, with shuttle buses for guests to and from performances (€5 pp fee for return) and a light buffet laid on for departing opera goers. Nothing exceptional about the room, but the staff are superb. Breakfast is good. Reception always helpful. More, the bar steward is on it and quick. The rinderroulade was the best food I've had in Bayreuth over the years. And the beer is toll! Total fantastisch...und meine Deutsch ist schlecht.

Overall this is a decent hotel, maybe a bit outdated with the decor and furniture, but clean and suitable for trips to the city. The rooms are sufficient in size and equipment. Hotel is used for a lot of conferences, and bus tours, so is big, and has lots of rooms. Having said that, the facilities are all fine and well maintained, and our room was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Breakfast and dinner in the hotel was ecellent too. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable, great location at train station and easy walk to all attractions including the brilliant Oskar restaurant. Easy bus 303 to hermitage from station. An excellent breakfast continually topped up with extra fresh delights.

Great old hotel, come experience a unique 300 year old structure, fully modernized with all the comforts. Restaurant was closed for dinner but breakfast wonderful, fresh cooked eggs, bread local jams and honey.

We had a short stay at the hotel. The location is ok , close the city center , staffs are friendly , room is small but cozy ,good window view . Parking is 8 euros per night , kettle is free with 20 euros as a deposit.

Small, modern and clean room. Good breakfast. Hotel is close to railway station but quiet when windows are closed.

The service is poor, the air conditioner in the room does not heat the room, and you have to go to the front desk to get a hair dryer. This brand has no user-friendly thinking at all, and they only make things difficult for customers to make things convenient for themselves.

The environment, service and location are impeccable. It's very convenient to go to the theater on foot.

Cosy place to stay. In summertime it is great to have breakfast on the terrace above the small river.

This is a nice quaint hotel. the rooms are small and a little too cozy but the charm aort of makea up for it. The wifi ia awful. Don't exect to be able to use it. Location is nice right near old city. The best thing about thia place though is the restaurant. The food is AMAZING!

My wife and I recently stayed at Goldener Hirsch for three nights during the Festival. The facility was spotless, the staff was warm and inviting, and we have already booked again for next year. If you will be staying in Bayreuth, look nowhere else.

We had chosen the hotel because dogs are allowed and I must say that I was positively surprised by the friendly welcome that both we and the dogs had when we arrived. Room was spacious and comfortable. The main road can be rather busy, so the night wasn't too quiet, but nonetheless we slept well. Breakfast was excellent!

We loved the location of the Hocher Hotel. Checkin is 1:00 and since it is an automated machine it is helpful to wait to arrive at this time or after and checkin would be easy. Hands down one of the best breakfast places I have been to in the whole of Germany! Large outdoors and indoors seating area, very atmospheric, delicious concoctions like the croissant breakfast burger, and I had the egg and avocado eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs done to perfection.

Pastries for breakfast were nice but the coffee - sorry, not good. But there is a nice coffee shop nearby, I wish hotel was using their beans :) Room are nice, modern and big ! We had a dog with us and there was even a nice bowl for him already placed in the room.

Great value for money. The hotel is new and modern. They even have a little breakfast buffet with baked goods, fruit, coffee and tee. The check-in is automated so even though we arrived later we got into the hotel by opening the doors with our phones. Gym is tiny, but perfectly enough.

This youth hostel is more expensive than others, but it also offers a lot more. There is a lot of areas where you can spend time as a group, and at breakfast there are uncommon options like dried banana and - at select days, possibly on weekends? - smoothies. The thing we disliked most is having only one key card per room. If you don't mind this, I can fully recommend this hostel.

The architecture of the hostel was very nice and modern. Also, it had enough room for other activities like sports etc. I’ve also liked the outdoor balconies. Unfortunately, they didn’t have vegan options for food, only vegetarian. Hopefully, this can be improved.

This house provides an outstanding experience for families. A modern and most inviting architecture aligns itself nicely to a most professional service by a uniquely friendly staff. The house is clean, the common areas, and rooms are welcoming and warm. There is a sport field in the backyard, and you may enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner on the terrasse.

Hostel, mostly for children (lots of children approx.12 yrs). Nice and a little bit futuristic indoors - lots of wood and colour. Hostel rules: eating in rooms is prohibited (but comfy eating room you can use any time), no everyday change of bed lining and towel, only one towel provided, no free soap in the bathroom, no hairdryer. It's a very ordinary hotel. Because it's Sunday, you have to operate the machine yourself, but the location is very good. As soon as you go out, you will find the old town of Bayreuth. It is very convenient to various attractions.

I couldn't find a campsite in Bayreuth, so I stayed at Poseidon. It was great because it accommodated four people. The location was right next to the central square, so it was perfect for a walk and a beer. I highly recommend coming with friends... But please be patient if you're coming with a partner.

It was an old hotel. Every equipment in the room was very old. TV in my room had no signal and didn't work. It was cleaned up in the room. When I checked in, a reception lady said only two times, "your name?" and "room number 17".

Old-fashioned villa and bungalow, very close to the city center, about half an hour's walk to the Festival Theater of the Bayreuth Festival. The breakfast is okay. There is usually no one at the front desk. The staff can only be seen during breakfast. It is a loose management.

Great location about five minutes walk to old city center, also conveniently located near the final resting place of Franz Liszt and the Wagner extended family if that interests you. Checked in an hour early, the front desk reception was warm! The location is very central and convenient to everywhere! Parking 🅿️ is in the nearby P7 parking lot, very close!

My room was supposed to have a double bed, instead it was 2 single bed joined together which was very incovenient for us as it was moving.

Good stay… except the crevice! We enjoyed staying at the ApartHotel. It actually did feel like staying in an apartment. The room was spacious and clean. Our only complaint is that “queen bed” meant sleeping on two twin beds pushed together. Every time I wanted to spoon my spouse I ended up sinking into the crevice between the beds; no good.
