Amazing hosts, very welcoming and kind. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast buffet is delicious. The area around is quiet and allows for a relaxed time. Highly recommended for your stay in Schwarzwald!

The hotel is situated in a beautiful location, the lake Schlüchtsee is only a few Minutes walking distance, as is the Rothaus brewery, both places are definitely worth a visit. The hotel is spotless, the rooms/suites are very spacious and the breakfast is excellent. The staff are also exceptional and made sure our stay was perfect. Highly recommend this hotel.

We loved the 'bottomless coffee', delicious marmalades, and hearty breakfast buffet. The rooms were very comfortable with modern facilities. The staff were very friendly and communicated perfectly with me in English when my limited German speaking wasn't quite enough. There is even a fun hiking trail directly from the hotel itself. I researched many places to stay in the southern Schwarzwalds and this turned out to be ideal for us.

We stayed for 3 Nights and everything was perfect, Nice quiet Room friendly staf and great breakfast! Also good location many things to see and do in the area.

Stayed for 6 nights. great hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very big for the kids (we took a family room). The hotel location is close to many attractions and places to visit. good breakfast. I am sure we will stay again when visiting at the area

Nice hotel in a nice location with lots to do in 500m walking distance. Price value was very good, I also find the breakfast buffet amazing. The rooms are very clean and nicely furnished. The stuff is friendly and very nice. What was missing a bit was the love for the details. For example in the rooms I was missing a wardrobe, information about the hotel (a folder or something) and some hangers for towels in the bathroom. There is an indoor children play room but unfortunately no outdoor playground.

Don´t book a room there. We had booked a "standard suite" for 176,- USD per night (weekend rate). The rooms are lousily furnished and uncomfortable. Worst part is the bed and pillows.The pillows were the cheapest I have ever encountered. The bathroom ist equipped with a shower curtain (sixties retro style). Common extras if you are booking a suite (bathing shoes, bathrobe, coffee maker, aso.) are totally missing. The wellness area is a bad joke. Service is horrible or did simply not exist (expect the breakfast service and the service of the cleaning lady). We never felt welcome. The hotel restaurant is not recommendable and there is just one mediocre restaurant within walking distance.Don´t trust the pictures on the hotel website the reality is different. If you are interested to enjoy an excellent lunch or dinner book a table at the restaurant "Gasthaus zum Hirschen" in Grafenhausen-Staufen (see my review).
