Overall, the hotel charges luxury prices but delivers a budget-level experience. The overall vibe was very strange — untrained, lacklustre staff, a feeling of abandonment, and none of the professionalism you would expect at this price point. Rooms weren’t properly serviced: we found food left behind by previous guests, the bathroom wasn’t cleaned during our stay, and towels weren’t refreshed. Access to the lake from the so-called “private beach” was unsafe and hardly usable, to which the staff told us to just go to a private beach instead. The restaurant fell far below the promised standard (looked like it was run by a local pizzeria based on the car the chef was driving). Breakfast was also disappointing — charged as “included,” but only available for very limited hours. The front desk, while friendly, was extremely incompetent and unable to cover even basic functions such as operating the payment terminal. Check-out times were also a mess, making us rush back to the hotel to check out the night before leaving, because we wanted to catch a 7am train. On top of that, our room was directly above the parking lot. With no air conditioning or even a fan, leaving the windows open in summer meant late-night noise and light from the cars on the parking lot right outside the window. Looking at most of the 5 star reviews here, I have a strong suspicion that they are fake. I contacted the hotel about these issues but never received a reply. The information about ownership on the website is outdated. Based on this, I cannot recommend booking here.

Fantastic location being right on the lake and the restaurant has Fantastic views and great to catch the sunset with a glass of wine. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and well kept. The sauna is a good addition. In fact I had a back problem and the staff at the desk happily carried my bags which I am so grateful for! Would definitely recommend this place.

This trip was a father and son trip through the southern part of Germany. Wanting to make my father's stay in the Black Forest memorable, I selected the Seehotel Hubertus and was very pleased. After traveling the Schwarzwald-Hochstrasse (high Black Forest highway) for the better part of the day, we arrived at the “little castle” on Lake Schluchsee. Felix our host met us in the parking lot (by name I might add) and quickly hustled our bags to the room. He then showed us the room and allowed us to settle in before dinner. Our room was a Superior room with balcony and lakeview. The accomodations were clean and very comfortable and the views across the water were beautiful. We had an excellent dinner in the hotel restaurant, with wonderful service provided by Monique. The breakfast the following morning was very good, with plenty of selection to please most any taste. In my travels, the people that you encounter can influence the experience. Monique and Felix truly made us feel welcome and I couldn't have asked for a better experience for this father and son trip. The only regret is that I didn't book more than one night.

We stayed in the hotel for two nights between Christmas and New Year and had a wonderful experience. The hotel itself is in a lovely scenic location and is right next to the train station. We were given a card which gives free rail travel in the Black Forest area. The staff couldn't have been more helpful- they were all friendly and have some good tips on things to see and do in the area. The room was amazing- we were upgraded to a suite at no extra cost with a jacuzzi bath and seperate lounge upstairs. The hosts also provided lots of little treats (wine, beer, juice, cakes) all free of charge in the room. Breakfast and dinner were lovely in a nice setting overlooking the lake. The hotel also has a nice spa area with a steam room and sauna which was a real treat after a walk in the snow. The hotel staff have been extra helpful after our stay and are sending my lost kindle all the way to the UK after I left it behind. I would recommend this hotel and hope to return in the future.

The views from our beautifully furnished, spacious room were lovely, especially with fall foliage. At the owner's suggestion, we walked into town through the woods and back along the lake. We relaxed in the spotless spa facilities and ate delicious meals in the restaurant. (Another bonus of fall was venison season.) What a truly relaxing and memorable experience.

Location - Blew me away, utterly beautiful watching the sun set behind the lake and the forest surrounding you on the other side. Architecture and Decor - Incredible building with great history. Tasteful, clean and luxurious decor that made me feel very comfortable. Of all the 5 places we stayed on this trip the Seehotel made me feel the most relaxed. Service - Attentive, polite and interested from the outset. Food - The best steak I had during two weeks in Belgium, Germany and Austria. The food was refined, perfectly seasoned and made with great tasting fresh ingredients. A great stay and all too brief - this was a business trip but my girlfriend is already on my back to return.

We only stayed here one night and wished it had been longer. This hotel is standing alone at the side of the lake and we had a lovely view of the lake from our room. The room itself was spotlessly clean and a very high standard. The restaurant is excellent and our waiter was extremely knowledgeable when we needed help with the menu and he made excellent suggestions with the wine. Breakfast was a comprehensive buffet with views to the lake.

We stayed at the Seehotel Hubertus for 3 nights in the suite. The room was extremely spacious with an addition floor above for a third person. The view from the room over looked the lake however there was no balcony for our room. The hotel is on the banks of the large Schluchsee lake and view is stunning. The hotel is accessible by train too. Their restaurant is excellent too and also has a panoramic view of the lake. However, last order for the restaurant must take place by 7:30. The owner, Felix, gave us several tips to have an excellent stay in Black Forest.
