The staff is friendly and customer oriented. In the same building you can find a SPA and sauna, as well a very complete GYM. The breakfast is buffet with all basic to get charge of energy for the day. From my point of view the bed, at least the one I got is small and since is an old building the isolation against noise is not good.

Rather okay value for the money, the hotel could need a bit of remake, but I guess it is charming the way it is. The beds were alright and that is what really matters when you decide to stay at a place like this. Oh and yeah, showering was quite hard, we only had a bathtub and the shower hose is really down so that you need to be very short to get all wet. And oh, the minibar didn't work, so the beer...

Yesterday 2.4. , we were at a very nice birthday party in the Guldenhof. What can I tell you, the celebration was very successful. The staff made a huge contribution to this. The boss was always trying to discuss each passage beforehand. He always tried to get in touch with the guests. I think you can recommend this hotel with a clear conscience. Solid. Rooms were no frills but clean and sensible. In the price range usually you have a bit bigger rooms though. The bathroom was quite nice. Front desk is open 24/7; convenient. When I checked in, around 8pm, there was only one desk open though, so it took a while. The cleanliness of the comfortably furnished room was exceptionally good. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. The dishes from the menu tasted very good and were wholesome. You didn't have to wait long for elevators. The hotel was in a pleasant central location. The selection at the far too expensive breakfast was at least varied.

Nice room at a nice price in a nice location. One issue was that the email they sent had the wrong booking number so we couldn’t use the kiosk to check in. Fortunately, the front desk was open at the time even though the email said it wouldn’t be at that time.

This was the fourth hotel we stayed in over the past six days and we or least favorite. This was the only hotel that did not have an in room mini refrigerator and offered only one pillow. The parking garage was difficult to locate and the cost was €1/hour or €9/day but you could not leave and return without getting another parking pass and paying a new fee.

No microwave or refrigerator in the room which was inconvenient because everything around us was closed on Sunday. (Even grocery stores) Otherwise, the room was clean and staff was helpful.

Very central. Clean. Quite cosy. The rooms are in good shape and quite large. The beedroom is for 2 persons and nr 3 person sleept in the living room on a daybed. We only stayed for one night but it was well worth the money. Nice view to castle. Notice that if you rent a park space in the yard the gate is very narrow so large cars can't enter or exit easily.

The price is relatively cheap, the room is quite big, European hotels are relatively clean, the breakfast is very rich, and it is very convenient to the airport, which is a good choice for business trips.

The hotel has a rich buffet breakfast. The hotel is just opposite the airport, only a 3-minute walk away, but there are no shops around. If you need to buy food, you have to return to the airport.

Nice overnight stay, without being modern Nice family room, if you just need to stay overnight. It was a bit warm, but they had the foresight to put up a fan, which cooled us all night. Hotel a little outside in the west of Leipzig. Good connections by bus or train. Rooms are a bit dated but acceptable. Breakfast is normal average. Try parking in the underground car park for 15 EUR or in one of the side streets.

We went to leizig for the champions league football. The hotel was in a great location to get to the stadium. The room was basic but met all our requirements. The hotel was very clean. Staff were efficient and professional. We had to leave early for our flight the gentleman on reception was very friendly and helpful. All in all we had a great stay and would definitely recommend

The receptionist was not friendly, and the room missed some necessary items such as shampoo, the safe was not working, and the mini-bar was empty. Also the beds were pretty small. On the other side, the hygiene was really good, and the breakfast had good variety of options.

About what you can expect from a 3 star hotel in Germany: average hotel with employees that don't speak or don't want to speak English. The bed was comfortable so we got a good night's sleep. The only problem we had with it was that the room smelled like someone smoked cigarettes in it every day for the past 20 years. Won't book this hotel again.

The Hotel Papilio is a beautiful and cozy Hotel!!! The rooms are very pleasant with a large flat TV, the beds are very soothing with two pillows and a neck roll. Cozy hotel with good location. Tasty breakfast buffet. Room was tidy and clean with a nice little bathroom but the mattress had lost some of its strings so you have to rest in a bit bent position. Hopefully that will be fixed soon! Unfortunately tramline goes just under the window and due to poor noise isolation you can hear them a bit too well. Luckily there’s not much traffic in night time.

Hotel itself is absolutely fantastic. Staff were great and the room was brilliant for the price. The main negative was that there’s tram lines right outside(to the front/entrance side). But the hotel is warm and has great bathroom with large tub and warm registers under every window to keep you toasty warm on a German winter night. Ideal also for trade fair visitors, because the tram stop is 30 meters from the house and it is only 3 stops to the fair while the car is parked in the yard. I would called it a good quality HOSTEL rather than a Hotel. A bit unfriendly staff, maybe because I did not speak German well. Yes, it is a simple trade fair hotel, you know that beforehand. I usually travel in Asia and seem to be spoiled. But I am amazed how they can still install bathtubs for showers these days. The toilets are also only designed for reversing into. It was annoying, however, that the service did not replace glasses and cups after use. The coffee was also not refilled.

Although the room was fairly comfortable with all the amenities, the windows on the rooms fave people on the street a direct view into the room. The curtain had to remain closed and therefore the room was always dark. The stay was comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, but the check-in process was a bit longer than expected. The Wi-fi wasn't the greatest and could be better.

Booked room on booking.com, good price and nice tidy hotel and room, not the biggest room but was fit for purpose and it had a nice little balcony area that can be used for smoking.
