Where to stay in Luneburg

COVID had led to a significant reduction in reception hours, but staff went to some trouble to keep us informed and make sure we had access. Limited choice at breakfast, but freshness and quality very good. Staff friendly and helpful.

Best food I've had in Line urgent.

Very charming, Altstadt Hotel and Restaurant, run by a highly qualified, professional, yet friendly staff. Small, modern bedrooms are well designed in this antique building. It is in a great location to enjoy all Lüneburg has to offer. The food is sophisticated, yet fitting in the unpretentious and casual atmosphere

Very romantic and rustic. 50m from the Christmas market. The owners are very nice, caring and accommodating. The breakfast is ok, the rooms so-so. Nevertheless, we would take a room over the weekend again, because the overall package is just right and you are right in the city center.

Very old hotel in the middle of the city of Lüneburg. Unfortunately not so great in room 11 without a private bathroom (externally across the hall). But the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was prepared with a lot of creativity.

Nice old hotel. Single room was small but functional. Restaurant is only open for breakfast (which is excellent)—but there are lots of choices nearby.

Great hotel in Adendorf, one of the northern outskirts of Lüneburg. The room I had was spacious, well equipped, and very clean. Did neither use the spa area nor the restaurant for dinner. Therefore, I cannot not comment on this. The breakfast was standard. Bottomline is a very good hotel to stay if usage of the spa area is planned. For just an overnight stay is the price I paid too high.

I stayed here for 3 nights as I was attending some meetings nearby. The breakfast was good and I ate at the restaurant in the hotel 2 of the 3 nights. The hotel does have an indoor pool, a separate outdoor pool and an indoor whirlpool. There was a sauna that you had to walk outside to get to as well as two that were inside. There was also a steam room. The saunas were different, but I am not familiar...

Stayed for one night on my way through Germany. I don't play golf so can't comment on that. Also has a pool and gymnasium. Large car park. Room was nice, breakfast good, had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good. No problems.

Very quiet location, has a golf course, spa, bar and a restaurant. The staff is nice. The food in the restaurant is not so great but there's plenty of other options around in the area. The WiFi in the rooms was not working for a few days but the receptionist gave great alternatives. Plenty of free parking space available and rooms are spacious. We really loved our stay here. The check-in and check-out were smooth. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. The free mini-bar was a nice surprise :) I had a work call during our stay, and the wifi worked wonderully throughout the meeting. Would have loved to stay longer than just one night!

Beautiful hotel in the very centre of Lüneburg. I was in town to provide a lecture at Leuphana University. The hotel is situated right in the middle of town, not far from the train station. The rooms are quite spacious and comfortable, and even have a dining table. There is a steam sauna and a gym available to the guests free of charge. The gym's exercise machines do need some maintanence, though....

Cost effective, maybe a little dated in places, but a pleasant stay. Nice buffet breakfast. Although strangely the bar shut for an hour between 7 pm and 8pm!

The location is convenient as hotel is located at the border of inner city of Luneberg. The reception staff is gentle with multi-language.

The hotel isn't worthy of a 4-star rating. The room was in need of renovation (broken fixtures, broken glass door on the closet, screws in the wall but no picture...). Super Lage, Essen, Service, Personal, Zimmer, Ausstattung. Wir hatten ein großes schönes Zimmer mit Badewanne und 5 Gratisgetränken in der Minibar. Auch ein tolles Frühstück. Wir konnten auch früher einchecken und unser Gepäck dann noch kostenlos den ganzen Tag nach Check out noch dort aufbewahren. Das half uns sehr, weil wir erst Abends abgereist sind. Das Servicepersonal ist sehr nett.

I really think Bargentrum is a really really good bargain in Lüneburg. So close to everything worth seeing! Transport accessible, kind stuff..enough parking space too, tell me that's not a good bargain to enjoy the fairytale that is Lüneburg ❤💯

Nice Hotel. Was ourer anniversary and we wanted to spoil ourselves with a suit and where a bit disappointed with it. Some of the lights didn't work and the basic interior/furnishings. The room needed to get updated. But you couldn't completed about the cleanliness. For us in this case, we couldn't see the value for money.

Family hotel outside the center with nice park for running or walking nearby

I stayed there for only one night, so I cannot say much, but it was all in all a pretty enjoyable stay in a clean hotel with nice workers.

This hotel was a very good experience. The parking is "reserved" and safe, the hotel and the room felt clean and fresh. We didn't have breakfast, but we actually regretted it because it was a very good deal. Very satisfied also with the location, walking close to the center. We would definitely love to return to Luneburg and this hotel would definitely be our choice again.

The room is clean and tidy, although slightly small but well-equipped. The front desk was very friendly and allowed me to check in a little early. The location is excellent. It's a 5-minute walk from the train station and the main attractions are within walking distance. It feels very safe to walk back after dinner. Great value for money!

Hygiene: Very clean. Facilities: Basic services are provided, but the rooms are a bit small.

Location was good. Could not hear the trains. Short walk from the center. Had all the nesseseties we needed as a family passing through. Remember to book for parking. Otherwise, there’s a parking house in short distance for 7 euro pr day

Very close to the station but not noisy. One hour to get to hamborg airport. My room was very large approx 20m2. Very good value for money. They even.loaned me an umbrella because it raining very heavily. Good location also to town

My girlfriend and I spent three days in this beautiful property 4 weeks ago. We stayed in the guest house in two double rooms. These were spacious and comfortable, especially the beautiful bathroom should be emphasized. Everything new and clean! Most of all we enjoyed the great breakfast buffet. Everything was there and very lovingly designed. Just to feel good. There was also nothing to complain...

Nice clean rooms, and very friendly staff, we arrived late and kitchen was closed, but they managed to make us some very tasty mushroom soup with bread. That was more than what could be expected

We had a wonderful stay. The service concept is very important here. All employees are friendly and courteous. You feel good and switch off quickly. We particularly liked the restaurant. The ambience is lovely. The food has to be emphasized again here. It is cooked and served excellently. The best price-performance ratio that I've come across in gastronomy so far. Thanks very much! We were guests for 3 days: Very nice and extremely tastefully furnished room - extremely great atmosphere in the entire hotel. Cozy, attractive outdoor area, great bar. Friendly employees and obviously very committed managing director who also helps out with service. Very good food. Long wine and drinks menu.

The Saltblooms apartments convince due to their central location in Lüneburg. You can park your car safely and protected from the weather (for a surcharge) on the property. You can also leave it there, because the city center and the sights are all within walking distance. We had a great stay at the hotel. It is very nicely located in the old town and a perfect starting point for exploring the city. Our room was large, bright and very clean. We would check in again :).

If you like it traditional and antique, this is the place for you. Centrally located in the old town and yet we slept with the window open. Very good breakfast. Nice boss with good information. We'd love to come back.

The guest house is quietly located in the west of the old town of Lüneburg and offers private parking next door at a very fair price (8/22: € 5 per day). Very old historic building from 1493 (last a cinema until 1989) with steep stairs to the upper floor. Room on the upper floor with a very low ceiling - you shouldn't be taller than 1.80 meters. Warm in winter even without heating, stuffy in summer...

There are different sized rooms. We were in the smallest with about 15m2. It was wonderful for one night. Several nights, I would book a larger category. Small but nice is apt for this guest house in beautiful Lüneburg and absolutely recommendable!
