This is probably one of the best hotel experiences I had anywhere in the world. In fact it cannot be called a hotel experience because we felt really at home. I think nothing more to add here. We will definitely be back.

We were there for dinner on Saturday, September 11th, our special requests were met and the service was very friendly. Definitely worth a visit because it is extraordinary and beautiful.

Lovingly furnished and comfortably designed. Both the boss and the staff are very friendly and service-oriented. The kitchen offers fine home-made dishes that are really convincing. Simply delicious 😋 Gladly again and see you next time.

The hotel sits in the town of Schmidt which is very pleasant and quiet. The staff were pleasant , friendly and helpful. The availability of an evening meal was a pleasant surprise and was very good. The breakfast served in the morning was also good with a great selection to choose from. The bedroom was spacious with a comfortable bed, a small balcony and a lovely walk in shower.

We stayed for just one night whilst touring, but would have happily stayed longer at this friendly, family run hotel. Being in the small town of Schmidt, it was perfectly situated for exploring the Eifel Forest, with the bonus of some free parking at the rear of the hotel, tucked away from the main road. Very good place to explore the area. Hotel is situated in city center of Schmidt. Parking lots are limited but easy parking at the church opposite of the hotel. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Good location, nice view on high hills (depends on the location of your room), nice rooms. Clearly family business (what is good). Restaurant is so so - like 3 different eating places, 1 pretty far from the kitchen/breakfast bar.

What a lovely hotel! It feels like a bed and breakfast with the amazing service and friendly staff. Every meal was excellent and the beer, wine, and spirts complimented the meals or very enjoyable on their own. Your not in a city out here, but the rural charm and attractions kept us busy and having fun. I recommend a visit to the Castle Niddegen and a swim at Lago Beach with some cocktails to enjoy...

We had a lovely stay! Everything was great; the food, the people (so friendly) and we got a huge room and is was all clean. Would definitely recommend this hotel and specifically the restaurant was of high quality.

The staff were extremely helpful. Excellent value for money. Let us store our bikes in their basement. Breakfast was very ample. Even let us use leftovers for sandwiches for our onward cycle. Would recommend

Wonderful hotel, cozy and intimate and in a great location in the town. The food was so good we honestly didn't feel the need to go out anywhere else. Staff were very friendly and would highly recommend staying here!

Wonderful cosy hotel! The staff made us feel right at home and the food was delicious. They even noticed that I wasn’t eating the rolls provided at breakfast (because I’m gluten free) and came running to bring some fruit to make sure I had eaten enough. Would recommend!

Really nice and romantic cosy little place. Family run, full of wood and original decorations. In a super charming old house. No elevator but lots of help from the staff. Food was really good, even though not on a gourmet level. We were even allowed to take our desert to our room! All in all a real recommendation for a romantic getaway

Child-friendly, very nice, very good service, large portions, I ate steak myself and the second schnitzel I tasted both very, very good. Wife and child too. There is also a delicious vegetarian menu! It's worth stopping by.

Very lavish menu. Very well prepared Indian dishes. Good and friendly service. Unfortunately, cutbacks in dessert. The chocolate tart that I ordered tasted like meat because it was most likely baked in the oven for various meat dishes. If that is improved there will be 5 stars.

The food was really very good. The portions were also sufficient. The service was very nice and attentive. The waiting times weren't long. On the contrary. The food for our child was way too much. Too much for a child's portion in my opinion. It was a little cold overall. But we would go again.

Very nice place with friendly staff and decent traditional local food. The garden outside is just awesome, just under the trees and with a playground few meters away, so families can enjoy food and drinks while kids have their fun

Excellent service with an authentic attitude of hospitality. Delicious traditional meals, lots to chose from. If I'd live in Nideggen I'd go there every week. One star is missing due to the very strong mix of the Aperol Spritz and the very limited vegetarian options in the main meal section. Thanks for making us feel at home!

We stopped here for dinner after a day at the Rursee in August 2020. Safe the say we had an excellent meal in the beer garden. A really good food menu, and very good portions. Would happily recommend to anyone to stop here for dinner. We had Jägerschnitzel and pork Medallions, both were excellent! Staff we also very friendly. Our dinner for two was around €45 with drinks.

Best trout that my wife has ever eaten and my schnitzel with asparagus was also excellent.

Idyllic “Gasthof” with a nice atmosphere, perfect for a quiet relaxing weekend away. When I arrived I has some issues with my booking through Booking.com (which had nothing to do with the gasthof) and my booking didn’t come through. Luckily the room was still available and I was able to book it there on the spot. It’s owned by a friendly and helpful dutch couple which made the communication for me...

Best place to stay in Germany, very nice people, place and food!!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Gasthof Burg Hausen. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and made us feel very welcome. Everything was clean, including the shared bathrooms. We enjoyed the breakfast. Guests should be award that the restaurant is not open everyday.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed. Very nice owner, good food and beautiful nature. The themed rooms are all unique, stayed in the witch and arabian nights themed rooms. 5/5 would always recommend.

Talk about personality! This hotel has tons of it! Friendly and social hosts and basic but nice rooms. Each room has a sci-fi/fantasy theme. Nice location with possibility for a nice morning run :-). Breakfast could be better, but for the asked price it's more than sufficient! I will most certainly stay at this hotel again.

We stayed for 3 nights in the hotel, during October. Our room, the Admiral suite was very clean and spacious, with dining room and living room. Large balcony and splendid lake view. Wonderful quaint little inn with a cafe/biergarten on the ground floor. My room had a beautiful view of the castle from my window. We were made to feel welcome from the very beginning. It is clearly a very well run family hotel. We were able to check in early and were allocated a parking space, despite not booking one. The room was very clean, tidy and had everything that we required. We headed out for food but coming back, the balcony was an amazing addition. Vacation for two ... we were several times in the classic art. We had different rooms ... which were always clean. The breakfast is extensive. The friendly owner is very courteous and attentive. We will be back soon

Very nice owner, clean rooms and a rich breakfast. The hotel is on the "main street", but it is very quiet. Parking spaces are available in front of the house and on the street.

We were there for the weekend. A small hotel centrally located in Heimbach. The equipment is practical and always very clean. We felt comfortable, even if the rooms were a bit old. The breakfast is varied, adequate and delicious. We will be back.

We had a lovely week at Dormio Eifeler Tor. The park itself is well maintained, has a nice pool to cool off on hotter days and also a good selection of bakery items / coffee to go for the mornings, making for a comfortable stay. For kids - ours range in age from 0 to 7 - there is plenty to do even though the park is on the small side. We made good use of the pool, the soccer cage and the two playgrounds...

All in all, quite ok experience, mainly the location, the house itself, the things to do in the resort and in the surroundings, but also quite some things to improve: - Internet quality is completely unacceptable for year 2025, having to reconnect every few minutes and then still not able to load much - The pools could use a couple of extra slides or toys for the kids, one small waterslide for 4 pools...

Great resort on the outskirts of Heimbach, with an amazing view over Hasenfeld village. Great base for cyclist ready to do some climbing (❤️ climbs to Mariawald, Schmidt, and Kermeter). The resort is very kid friendly, which, unfortunately, led us to wake up every morning around 5 AM due to crying babies 🤣. Supermarket on premises was OK, better to go to supermarkets in Hasenfeld.

The location ist very nice. A big downside for families with kids is that many guests park their cars all day and night in front of the guest houses, although this is officially not allowed. But there seems to be no enforcement of car parking rules, thus nobody makes sure, that cars stop at the houses only for un/loading and are driven to the big parking space across the road.

We had an amazing experience in this resort. There was some confusion when we arrived We arrived late, so there was a bit of waiting to get the directions cleared, but once we got into contact with the reception by phone, things were sorted out. I was at an wedding event and I didn't sleep there but the first impressions was very good.

The hotel has a new and an old building. I stayed in the new one. The room was good and clean. The breakfast was worth the extra. Something for everybody, hot and cold, was served in the new building.The staff was professional. The restaurant is located in the old building but i haven't had a meal there. I can recommend this hotel.

All dishes were made to perfection. The sliced roast beef is especially good and tender. This restaurant has room for medium to large size groups.

A family run house. Friendly rooms, comfortable, clean and well-kept. Three generations manage the hotel! Breakfast is plentiful and guests' wishes are taken into account. Secure parking spaces are available (lockable courtyard). There is also a restaurant in the house. We have been guests there for several years and we feel very comfortable there.

We were kind skeptical due to all the bad reviews, but decided to give it a go. We were very surprised. Yes, the rooms are a bit old (and so is the hotel), but it a was very clean and comfortable. The hotel owner is extremely kind and helpful. No bad words for that man at all. The location is amazing. I would recommend it.

I stayed here for one night. It is advantageous in the sense that it is close to all touristic areas (by car). I enjoyed the balcony especially in the morning! The receptionist guy was very nice and informative.

A small hotel in the village. Rooms quite large and comfortable with a balcony. Although the hotel is not new, it is kept clean and the rooms refreshed. There is free WiFi, You can buy the possibility of using a small cramped kitchen max for 3 people. Internal parking for 10-15 cars.

Excellent hotel - the room was beautiful and the staff super friendly. It‘s pretty romantic there and nature outside really worth a trip! 💚 Service was incredible - even though I checked in after they were officially closed, they managed to have a vegetarian dinner readily waiting for me. Which tasted amazing and they also got a superb choice of food and Drinks. Absolutely going there again!!!!!!

Family-run hotel with a personal touch. Tucked away in a peaceful, scenic valley. Spacious, spotless rooms with private bathrooms. There’s an elevator. There is plenty of free parking and an excellent restaurant serving gourmet menus with perfectly paired wines — a dream for every gourmet!

We stayed in the Herrenhaus for a week as we also did last year. We enjoyed it so much we will definitly be back. We ate in the hotel's restaurant every night and were very satisfied with everything. It is an excellent spot to stay to go hiking in the area.
