Very nice small hotel without great performance for a relatively large amount of money. The location is ok. Rooms are clean and very basic. The breakfast is cheap and good.

Pros: Clean and large bedroom and bathroom, friendly and helpful owners and parking available Cons: The room was right next to the reception and it got noisy very early in the morning as the kitchen was behind the reception and the breakfast area was down the hall. The breakfast, especially when guests stay longer, could be a bit more varied.

Rooms were large and modern, but above all I enjoyed the restaurant which had excellent food.

Stayed here on bussiness nice clean friendly hotel The manager is more than accommodating getting you breakfast and coffee ready for a time that suits you and nothing is too much we had a car accident before arrival so needed to get a few cabs the manager was more than happy to help due to the language barrier with ! Excellent hotel and a super friendly host family =) The rooms in the Gästehaus Strandstrasse are wonderful, very well-kept, clean and comfortable, the beach is only a few meters away, and the location is just perfect, including the ferry. The large breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired, we felt very comfortable and would be very happy to come back =).

Centrally located small hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean and equipped with comfortable beds and a seating area. The operators are very nice. The breakfast is lovingly prepared and varied, there are different types of coffee. And all at a reasonable price, 500 m from the North Sea 👍

My boyfriend and I only stayed one night but we were very happy. Our double room with balcony was clean and well-kept. Breakfast was good. The hotel manager was very friendly. We were even allowed to leave our car until the evening after checking out, which I thought was very nice. Price-performance ratio is right, so there is nothing to complain about. I can only recommend the hotel.

The guest house is pretty nicely decorated. You have everything you need for a good price. You get a small breakfast which is completely sufficient. The staff is very nice and hardworking. Unfortunately, the location is a bit far from the sea ... But I would come back any time.

The hosts were very attentive, nice and helpful. There is a family atmosphere in the hotel. The whole house, the terrace and the garden are lovingly designed and very well maintained. Wir waren Anfang Juli im Rahmen einer organisierten Radrundreise der Firma Rückenwind zwei Nächte in dem Hotel und waren zu 100% zufrieden. • Das Hotel liegt optimal in der Fußgängerzone von Norden. • Es bietet eine neue, optimal gestaltete Fahradbox...

Das Hotel liegt im Zentrum und ist super ruhig. Ein toller Innen- und Außenbereich, sehr geschmackvoll und modern gestaltet. Super Unterbringung für Mensch, Tier und Fahrräder. Anschließbarer Bereich für E-Bikes inkl. Ladestation. Zimmer „Kapitäns Deck“ mit gemütlichem Schlafbereich über eine (sehr !) schmale Treppe erreichbar. Sehr sauber und überaus freundliches Personal. Absolut empfehlenswert.

da wir schon öfters im smutje waren, hatten wir bisher mehrere verschiedene zimmer. alle zimmer super eingerichtet. Auf dem Zimmer eine Cafissimo maschine + Kapseln. Ebenso ein Flasche Mineralwasser. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Und dann das neu renovierte Bad. einfach traumhaft mit einer sehr großen Dusche, unter der man auch zu zweit genug Platz hat. Das Personal immer super nett und freundlich. Wir waren jetzt zum wiederholten Mal zu Gast im Hotel Smutje, die Mitarbeiter waren wie immer sehr freundlich. Das Zimmer war mit einem frisch renoviertem Bad in einem ordentlichen Zustand. Das Frühstück war ausreichend. Meine Frau und ich haben uns dort wohl gefühlt. Gerne besuchen wir das Hotel noch einmal erneut.

Als großer Fan der Ostfriesenkrimis von Klaus-Peter Wolf muss man früher oder später auch mal im Smutje übernachten, gibt es dort doch die legendäre Klaus-Peter-Wolf-Suite. Die Suite ist geräumig und gemütlich eingerichtet, alles ist tiptop sauber und ordentlich, das Bett sehr bequem. Toll die vielen "Krimi-Devotionalien", die über die gesamte Suite verteilt sind und die einem erst nach und nach auffallen...

Nice food in large portions. I'm a vegan, which is why it can be hard to find restaurants in Germany that I can eat at. However, there was a nice jackfruit wrap (that I chose) and a veggie burger which I could've ordered without the coleslaw, making it vegan too. Would recommend for all vegetarians or families with people that have different diets (they had seafood and meat too)!

Small but nice hotel with 10 rooms and nice breakfast buffet, friendly attentive staff. Bicycles for guests and sauna for exclusive use. All in all, highly recommended and we would love to come back here anytime.

The hotel is excellent! The team was really nice and friendly, the breakfast was good and with a lot of options, the bedroom was comfortable. It is located in a central area and close to the beach.

Very good. I visited recently and despite the restrictions due to Covid 19 had a very pleasant stay. I´m sure that for the staff it has been very difficult to work under such conditions. Lovely room overlooking the sea complete with a sofa to relax on. Absolutely superb breakfast buffet and the cappuccino was first class. Small but sufficient sauna area including an infinity pool on the 6th floor. Highly recommended for a small wellness break if you are looking for some sea air.

This hotel is highly recommended for its location and facilities. I would like to highlight the very friendly staff. (Restaurant manager, service and reception, housekeeping). The food is very good, the kitchen knows its business. The breakfast buffet also leaves much to be desired. Simply put, "everything is perfect". We will be back.

We visited the cocktail bar. Higher standard, but so were the prices. Everything is suitable for the service and atmosphere. Everything was clean, the staff, first of all, human, and also very friendly. There is a compartment for smokers, which is also not available everywhere.
