Excellent location by the main station and next to the Harz steam railway station. There is an excellent Italian restaurant next door if you don't want to use the hotel restaurant.

We only stayed one night but really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again. Room was lovely spacious and clean, perfect fit for family with small children. Front desk staff were lovely and helpful. Continental breakfast was great with loads of choice.

We really had a wonderful 4 days holiday. Quiet and idyllic location at the foot of the wooded Harz mountains. Incredibly friendly staff. Tasty dinner and breakfast menu was good and was completely renewed. Good parking space. The rooms with balcony have a wonderful view.

Very friendly dutch couple hosting this hotel. Beautiful located and as a political/social scientist I was especially fascinated by the fact that this is just a few hundred meters from the old BRD/DDR-border. Here you can combine nature with fascinating historical sights. Very recommendable

When we arrived (slightly late), we were warmly welcomed by the friendly owner. As the hotel was not fully booked, we were offered a much more spacious apartment instead of the standard double room that we had booked. Although the house is a bit older and the furnishings are a matter of taste - I would still come back anytime!

Nice little hotel. Rooms are newly designed and furnished. The breakfast buffet and the menu selection in the evenings as part of half-board are plentiful, varied and very good. In addition, drinks are included during mealtimes. The staff are very careful and courteous. Well suited for children, as there is a playground, a game reserve and soon a pool. We would come back.

We 'only' ate here, so we can't say much about the hotel itself. The staff was very friendly and we still got something to eat despite the break. We did have to park quite some distance away, however the new parking place was being prepared so that should allow more customers to park closer. The fire alarm rang for no reason during the late evening. Out of 3 saunas, 2 were out of order and the last one understandably a bit crowded. Breakfast buffet was however really good.

Have just spent 4 incredible nights here. Our room had a panoramic view of the frozen lake and snowy hills. The spa is one of the best I have visited, ever. Spacious, plenty of rooms and therapies (with no added extras for almost all) and even the sauna area had over 10 different rooms to use. In the winter vacation for 5 days. Self-Catering Accommodation. Standard rooms are outdated but very clean. Those who want the renovated rooms can be arranged for a small fee. Swimming pool ideal for children. The sauna area is sufficient. Cheap family holiday is repeated.

We had booked the apartment/holiday apartment with two bedrooms. We didn't realize that this wasn't directly in the hotel, but 1km further away in Haus Tannengrün. When we arrived, the bed in the second bedroom was unmade. But it was done quickly after calling. The second bedroom is not directly in the apartment, but on the ground floor and you have to go through the hallway. May be difficult for families...
