The hotel is in a beautiful location on the edge of the forest. Good to start hiking. The food from the show kitchen is superb. Extremely tasty and very creatively prepared. You sauna is too small if the hotel is well attended. The soul of the house is THE boss, who is always available to help.

Visited the restaurant for a family lunch and it was outstanding. We got great service and the special orders we had for the kids were no problem. I had their argentinian steak from the menu and it was the best steak I've had for a long, long time.

Lovely hotel stop between Poland and Belgium. We chose it as it seemed to be picturesque with lots to see in Eisenach, but we didn't have time to see everything as we only had one night. I would have liked an extra day. The staff were nice and there was a nice 10 min walk up a hill with a lovely view.

Nothing pretentious about this hotel. It gave a very good overnight stop with an excellent evening meal. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bedroom and corridors were rather dated. I would guess it was built in the 1970s but there was absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel. Quite close to the railway station and tram stop. I would certainly stay here again.

Food, as well as hospitality just great

We made a wonderful autumn hike in the Ehrental near Schmalkalden. My students give 999 stars in preparation and hospitality. Warm, nice, child-friendly ... awesome all the staff. We would love to come back. The deer were an additional highlight.

On the occasion of a family celebration, the five of us were able to experience two wonderful days there. Large rooms with great beds, quiet in the hallway, wonderful breakfast buffet. The building is very old in style and Arcitecture the reception feels very welcoming lots of information and things to look at. Receptionist spoke English too and was very friendly. Just a one night stay while spending 24 hours in Eisenach, as part of a longer trip. The hotel is in a great location, close to the railway and bus stations, and just a 3 minute walk to the centre of Eisenach. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Room was excellent. Comfortable bed. Had a very tasty dinner at the hotel. Price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend.

Not the best experience. Were part of a group. One couple in the group couldn't get a room after pre-booking as they double booked a room. Only after some negotiation did they offer a place in a sister hotel. Rooms are dirty. Location is good. Has Aircon NO KETTLE! Shower pressure is good, but the toilet is positioned so that it's awkward to sit on. There is a launderette round the corner, if needed
