We really had a wonderful 4 days holiday. Quiet and idyllic location at the foot of the wooded Harz mountains. Incredibly friendly staff. Tasty dinner and breakfast menu was good and was completely renewed. Good parking space. The rooms with balcony have a wonderful view.

Stayed at this hotel and it was near perfect! The breakfast was very delicious and full of everything! It had cheese, ham, boiled egs, nicely cut bread, coffee, tea, jam, cereal and etc! We were happy to have found alternative accommodation with this hotel. We had a vacation rental through Airbnb and the vacation rental was on a building site. Here in the hotel we were welcomed in a very friendly, happy manner and felt at home from the start! Even if the hotel was getting on in years, I never noticed any smells or uncleanliness. Everywhere in the house and also on the doors there...

The hotel is ideal for hiking holidays, even for larger groups.

The strenght is to be found in serenity. There is enough peace in Wieda and to slow down is a stay in the hotel "Zur Schanze" perfect. With its nostalgic charm it upgrades the holiday. It is clean and harmoniously decorated. In the area are all points of interest and attractions. Gladly again. Have fun balancing with pure nature.

A nice hotel in which we slept over the weekend. It has a rock solid and rustic decor and everything you need to take care of yourself. The hosts are a dream - open, friendly, helpful - everything you could wish for. If we come back for biking then we will probably stay here again.

Spent one night here on my hike. It's a very basic hotel but clean and has everything you need. The hosts are extremely nice and helpful, the food and beer in the evening was very tasty. Everything you need for breakfast is offered and you will definitely be full. I would definitely stop here again.

We were with 6 people at the lunch table. The food was really tasty and the staff was super friendly :) when we come back, we come by again.

Its located well in the village - directly at the mainstreet (which you dont hear at all). Nice owners, basic but good breakfast and overall in good condition however the pension has seen better days (as the entire region / the village itself) - but as long as you are aware of that this is a great stay for 1-2 nights

A very cozy pension furnished with a lot of love. We received a very friendly welcome and good advice. You are very accommodating. The rooms are cozy and you feel a bit transported back to your childhood. The breakfast was delicious and in the evening it is also very nice on the cozy terrace. The first time that I was greeted nicely with a cup of coffee in Germany - that I know only from abroad. A pension, it is important that you feel comfortable as a guest. There are still some who can learn from. Please keep it up !!!!
