Disappointing Experience at a Usually Reliable Marriott Property

As a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member who frequently stays at AC Hotels, I was disappointed with my recent experience at this hotel. I wanted to book a queen bed but was assigned a twin bed without any consultation or offer of an upgrade, despite my eligibility. Basic amenities like a dental kit were missing, requiring multiple requests. Additionally, essential information such as Wi-Fi access, breakfast timings, and gym location was not provided at check-in. When I addressed the lack of missing amenities at the desk they justified it by the lack of time/personal, as the manager was alone there.

When I raised these concerns later via email, the manager unconvincingly attributed the issues to my reservation details and timing of requests, without acknowledging any service shortcomings. This experience falls significantly below the standard I’ve come to expect from Marriott properties and makes me hesitant to return to this location

Well the low rating is only because they have a centralised temperature control system. Even though it's February, forthe last few days the temperature has been quite hot in Algeciras. But instead of having their AC on the cooling mode they have still kept it on Heater mode. The room gets really hot and it's very uncomfortable to be in a room without proper temperature control and air circulation . The staff were very polite and courteous though, but the higher management needs to understand that the guests need to be comfortable in their room. I had to literally keep my windows open just to feel comfortable. Not to mention such situations inside your hotel room affects your sleep and comfort. I would rather prefer to stay in a hotel where the heater and cooling systems are independent of each other. Like separate systems so that the required temperature setting is at the customers discretion.
