Been going here for over 60 years since I was 1 year old. Was the start of my life with Spain. Would give it 10 stars just for its history in my life if I could!!!! 😊

If you want to stay in an Ibis or Holiday Inn, there are plenty to be found but if you want to stay somewhere with character, stay here. Very beautiful hotel with history behind it. Pool was lovely abd staff very friendly. Room was a good size. Very Spanish part of spain, I can speak basic Spanish (be polite, order drinks & the bill) but was out of my depth outside the hotel. Very lovely beach 5 minute drive away with a great view of Gibraltar. Gibraltar itself is only about 40 mins away and well worth a visit!

The perfect place in this is incompatible cozy town , but rather in this strange city . I really liked the fact that the hotel is not expensive and meets its 4 stars . The room is very good bathroom accessories . Even a toothbrush is . But not all the rooms are great , there are those who look at the wall of some outbuildings . Super reception , super lobby super pool . Super Breakfast and super fullness...

Very big and nice. The gym is only a one star. Has indoor and outdoor swimming pool. No coffee pot in room.

As soon as you see this hotel if you are like me you will love it! All the charm of days ago and backpacking alone a welcome is most important. That I certainly got! All the staff were more than friendly and always greeted me with a smile. I was given an upgraded to my accommodation so I was delighted. The extra price for breakfast and buffet dinner is minimal so worth it but do not expect much flavour...

Alboran is a charming spanish style hotel - think La Quinta from USA w a much nicer gym and restaurant. Nice courtyard. Gym: has cable machine, light dumbbells and 3 diff cardio machines. Opens at 8a Rooms are spacious. Beds are comfy. Staff is friendly. But miss details sometimes. Helpful when asked. We would stay again. Great for 2-3 days. Note, not near anything.

Its a decent place. Old but we'll kept and maintained. Rooms are clean and staff are very courteous. There is swimming pool, bar and restaurant serving breakfast buffet and good lunch selection.

Everything was perfect! The rooms were clean, the staff was very polite and helpful. The only disadvantage(I'm not going to remove a star for that!) is that, you can order food to your room ONLY during the restaurant's hours for lunch and dinner and not any other hour..

Excellent 4 star hotel. Have stayed in worse 5 star hotels. Good size room, comfortable, clean, excellent staff and very good food. Breakfast superior to most spanish hotels. Thank you for wonderful stay.

The restaurant does not have a gluten-free meal, we received a cold piece of meat on our plate and a few boiled potatoes that we had not asked for, we had asked for fried fries, and a portion of pork, one board of meat was just cold and almost not fried, the other plate got a piece of gray fried meat on the plate. Fabulous hotel to stay in with some of the most welcoming staff. The rooms are clean and spacious with comfortable beds and air con. Stocked room fridge and bottled water. After reading the negative reviews I was a bit hesitant, but honestly, everything was fine for us. It was nice to be able to park in the garage nearby (yes, you have to pay). The rooms feel a bit dated, but theyre clean and comfy. The bed was nice and spacious. I didn't hear too much noise, but our room overlooked the street, not the bus station. Breakfast was fine. Super friendly receptionist with excellent recommendation for a restaurant. Location is also very good: train station, port, intercity bus station and city center nearby. Only the rooms would need some fresh paint and some renovating.

Good customer service and lovely rooms - bus sounds were not an issue in my experience and the convenience of having the station there could not be beat!

Excellent hotel, a bit outdated, would be even better if modernized. Everything works fine except elevator, but no bigger problem. Breakfast not to be missed. Skip the parking fee, plenty of parking space behind the hotel

The hotel is stylish, that must be a pain to dust with so many shiny surfaces. Even the sink is in the room is made from glass. But I can't fault the hotel on that at all, every day when we returned there was not a speck of dust to be seen. The rooms are ok, not big, but good enough for 1-2 days. Unfortunately the walls are thin and you can be woken up by next door's hacking cough every night orby...

They have taken a few parking spots in an underground parking lot just a short block away so keep that in mind. The hotel is awesome and the ferry terminal is at a 20 min drive.

Conveniently located & close to port & city center. The room was spacious but bed was not comfortable. Room was warm & AC is on heat mode only. If I open window for fresh air the traffic & port noise

jan 2024: Nice hotel if you wait for the ferry to Morocco, right next to the harbour. Nice restaurant, not so practical parking. We were there in wintertime but the rooms were far too warm, we could not sleap even with the open window !

Nice and clean, in a good position. The staff is kind. The only observation i can make, in the public parts of the hotel the air condition is really to high.

Has underground car park if you have a car but also it's just a few minutes walk to the buses which are really cheap to use and run regularly. A 3 star hotel 10 minutes away from Port by car. Good service. Clean room. Unfortunately, clogged sink in the toilet.

Very good service at the front desk. Nice €5/day parking under the hotel wich is safe. The room was very clean and of 4/5 standard. AC was set to 21 degrees. Extra: Taxi to the harbour is ~€6. Trip to parking garage outside Gibraltar took 8min and had a max day cost of €16:50 (bring coins)

I liked the location, that the staff was very nice and the room was what we expected, the room was really clean and tidy, the accepted our check in time with no problem, you could buy water and energy drink at the mini casino thats on the hotel reception.

Room was a bit sterile, but it was clean and cheap. Also parking is free nearby. Strangely there was a dishwasher and washing machine in the room but no oven or microwave???? Also the gym is free and quite big!

My stay was very pleasant. Good value for money, and the receptionist, Estefania, was very friendly and helpful.

The staff here do not speak English. Rooms are very compact. Wifi at this hotel is very slow and keeps disconnecting every 10 mins.

Stayed here for a night before taking the ferry in the morning. It's fine for what it is. It's a safe hotel and the receptionist was friendly. But it's not all that nice - the air conditioning doesn't work and neither my bathroom window or my bathroom door shut so i had to contend with a few mosquitoes. Also my shower head didn't have a holster, but i did have hot water after 5 minutes. Room smelt...

Don't get me wrong, this is not the best hotel i ever slept in. Outside there where sexworkers that where waiting on customers. I can imagine for some people this is a problem. What made me give this four stars, is that is was very cheap for the quality of the room, which was very good!

nice clean room + bathroom, with working table and nice view. the restaurant is tasty and offers a menu with a very fair price of 12€ for main dish, appetizer, dessert and a few drinks. most of the staff speaks acceptable English and the wifi works fine. this is basically all you can ask for. edit I am removing one star because : wifi is not completely reliable, our double bed is two single beds...

Although it is located out of city center, it is easy to reach. There were enough parking lots. Building is old, but rooms are renovated and clean. Hotels restaurant/cafe is satisfying.

Five star for budget price family hotel.Friendly staff. Two minutes walk from the beach. Highly recommended.

Very welcoming, very friendly and attentive people, I have spent a week there with my children and husband and we have been very well and attentive at all times and with a room to watch movies or drawings with the children as a family greetings to the managers from Laura and José happy new year

Great hostal, staff is incredibly nice and helpful. Service is great. Rooms and the hostal in general are clean and neat. The room had airconditioning and a comfortable shower. Beds were ok. Great value overall. The breakfast in the cafe was especially note worthy for a great price.

I stayed here last night and I'm staying here again tonight. It is a great little place to stay. The room is clean the shower works well. The gentleman at reception was very helpful in calling the motorbike rental company for me to extend it for four more days. Would recommend this place to friends.

First of all, the treatment of the staff is very friendly. The room is very spacious and very clean, the beds very comfortable and the bathroom is a joy with a huge shower. Very well located and with easy accessibility. Highly recommended.

The best hotel in Algeciras. Very well located. Clean and spacious rooms. With very quiet air conditioning. Special curtain to darken the room. WiFi works very well. All staff very friendly. From now on my hotel every time I come to Algeciras.

Good location however parking is limited. Hotel is clean and staff is friendly. Very small breakfast area however it was a very good breakfast that was included in the price.
