Me and my partner booked here for our first little getaway together. We were sceptical at first due to some recent poor reviews but so glad we ignored them. The hotel itself is very well kept and clean, and we were so happy with the room/balcony we were allocated with views of the beach and nearby mountains. The hotel is a short walk from local town centre with plenty of shops and restaurants (100% recommend Ella’s restaurant nearby)! Also a lidl no more than 10 min walk. Staff were super helpful and customer service was on point, with drinks brought to our tables and plates cleared almost instantly. We did find there was a lack of entertainment but we were out of season. The food was rarely cold, not a huge number of options for the fussier eaters but that’s our fault! Overall had the best stay and would visit again :)

Me and my husband booked El Grand Hotel Costa del Sol to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, his birthday adn also Easter. I tried to contact them before checking in, to organise something special for my husband's birthday, but I never got a reply from them - the communication and customer service are terrible. We got there on the 17th of April at 10 am, we went to leave our luggage and the receptionist, an older gentleman was very rude, not even said good morning or to welcome us, he just said on a high tone that the check in is at 2 pm. We only asked to keep the luggage until the room will be ready and he simply gave us the keys, to place it ourselves in the luggage room. When we come back to collect the luggage that room was full.. horrible. The cleaning of the room was very bad, everything was dirty, especially the toilet, the mirrors, the curtains. The food is bad too, do not book all inclusive, you can have very tasty and cheap food around the hotel. We have all inclusive, but only been for dinner on the first day. The coffee is horrible, the cocktails at the pool bar are very very bad. We stayed for 5 nights and they did not change the linen not even once. The towels are very old, one of it had a very big hole, never been in a worse place than this and they advertise it as a 4 star hotel. You better book an Airbnb than this horrible place. Everything is old and dirty and the customer service is horrible horrible. They don't care at all about their guests.

The hotel is in a great location and is pretty cheap. It served a purpose for us but the place is very dated - it doesn’t look like they need to spend any money on it because it seems full all the time. Most of the complaints people have made on TripAdvisor are valid and some are easy to fix. For example, there is no iron in the entire hotel and people are complaining - surely this is an easy win. We only had bed and breakfast and like most people have said, the food is not very hot. This could be amazing and La Cala is becoming more and more expensive so it’s likely people would spend the extra money to stay in a real 4* hotel.

We've just returned from 7 nts at this hotel, there is nothing to complain about at this hotel, very clean, Wonderful food, huge choices, exceptional seafood selection on the Saturday night, fresh prawns, smoked salmon, muscles etc the staff are lovely and very helpful, full bottle of wine with every meal.Premier Rooms on 6th floor with Seaview and balcony are really lovely, maids come in every day. Hotel is on the beach, plenty of sunbeds available, pool bar has a great selection of drinks, free snacks nuts etc in a plastic cup with drinks, 10 minute walk on left into La Cala Village, beautiful white buildings, selection of bars, restaurants, Unico club on the beach and Los Delfines Beach club are fabulous. Torreon Watch Tower only 2 euros for fantastic views of the whole area. Bus from outside Tourist information office into Fuengirola and Malaga also bus stop under bridge into Marbella and Capobina Beach. The areas are Incredibly clean, no litter or homeless, roads and pavements very well kept. We visited Marbella on the bus only €1.60 per person, Gibraltar day trip is well worth it very interesting. Mijas Pueblo traditional Andalucian white Mountain Village is breathtaking. Wonderful holiday. We paid £300 each for hotel all inclusive, plus Ryan Air flights, 2 suitcases and insurances. Total £1200. Bargain! We will be back ❤️

Came here for 4 nights all inclusive as group mixture of ages from 30-65. Great stay. Wasn't to much around the hotel but lovely walks on the prom and few bars dotted around the place. Food was good and the drinks were brilliant. Pool was on the small size but 50 meters out the gate you've got the sea.

This hotel is in a fantastic location right on the beach and minutes away from all the bar's and restaurants, stayed for 4 nights bed and breakfast, which was nice and lots of choice. I did hear lots of other guests moaning about the food in the evening being cold and not cooked but as I stayed B&B I cannot comment on this as I didn't personally try it, pizzas around the pool were lovely though and very reasonability priced, there is also a gorgeous pizza takeaway close by for anyone looking for a takeaway at night times. The rooms where nice and modern and the beds were made daily, I had to move one of the beds one day to get a charger that had fallen under and they weren't cleaned underneath they were very dusty on the floors, this is my only complaint really. I will add this hotel is more for couples or groups of people and isn't really child friendly , I booked this for myself and two children and there wasn't anything to do for them and no entertainment on at the pool or in the hotel during the day or night time, this was the only real downside to my stay, this could be down to it being early in the season. I would return to this hotel in future with friends as the location and Mijas itself is simply stunning, its a perfect base to explore. I downloaded the Bolt taxi app whilst I was there, which is the Spanish equivalent to Uber, it was $36 euro to the airport and $11 to the Miramar shopping centre, highly recommend this for travelling around.

We stayed here in late October 2024.

Positives.
Quite cheap.
Great staff.
Fabulous location on the beach with great views
Basic but clean rooms.
Okay, but not great, food.
The pool is fine.
Cheep drinks at certain times of day.

Negatives.
Not even close to a 4 star hotel. More like a 2 star.
Rooms are cold, poorly insulated, and the air con/heating barely works.
Some rooms are smoking rooms and, as the insulation is terrible, it makes the non-smoking rooms stink, too.
Very clinical and dated, almost like sleeping in a sports centre.

Stayed one night, and the staff price matched to what we found online. One night with breakfast for two adults for 86 euro. We had a room with a side sea view. The room was spacious, and the outside balcony was also big enough to comfortably sit two.
The hotel was clean, and the breakfast had everything you could want, including lots of fresh fruit.

We have stayed here before as he location is perfect. Right on the beach with amazing views and a short stroll along the boardwalk into la cala. The downside is the rooms are dated and could do with attention, especially the bathroom, with a stained bath, dirty floor drain and small, threadbare towels.
We used the tea/coffee facilities within the room on the first day however supplies were not replenished for the remainder of our stay which was disappointing.
Breakfast was the same every day with plenty of variety it was just not hot enough. Sunday there was no one preparing fresh eggs and bacon which was again disappointing
