Parador de Salamanca in Salamanca

This is our second stay at the Paradores (the first was in Cuenca) and we are enamored with these beautiful buildings turned hotels.

The five star staff at the Parador de Salamanca is perfectionism embodied — kind, and willing to help you get the best stay possible. They helped us move from the garden side to the city side fir the best views possible. We truly appreciated it. Friendly staff make me recommend it to others and want to return in the future.

The view is extraordinary. At dusk the lights come on at the cathedral and Roman bridge and it’s romantic and unforgettable.

Breakfast is well rounded and has something for everyone— many protein options, lots of grueso fruit and pastries and my favorite hot chocolate and churros. You get views of the cathedral while you eat. And afterwards you can stroll right out the door into the back gardens and walk right down to the Roman bridge. A perfect place to stay.

And historically Generalissimo Franco stayed here for a time with his regime during the Spanish Civil War, and that touch of history makes it even more fascinating.

Charming atmosphere and beautiful views of Salamanca and its cathedral. Very attentive staff. Modern facilities and great-sized rooms. 25 minutes pleasant walk to the downtown.

Today we celebrated my mother's birthday at the Parador in Salamanca. The reception was wonderful, tables overlooking the cathedral, the service impeccable, and the friendly staff were always there for us. The appetizers were excellent, the dishes very rich, very well presented, and the portions generous. The cake was very rich. My mother was delighted. I highly recommend it.

Paradors can be a bit hit and miss, but this one was definitely a hit for us.

It’s a modern Parador, but well designed with beautiful views over the city. Check in was simple and our room was large and well equipped, though as with most Paradors now a little dated. The weather had started to get colder so our room was an OK temperature, but the aircon is definitely not very effective. The room was kept very clean though. We had a garden view room, but I wish we had chosen the city view as the views were that good as to justify the extra money. Once we were settled we had lunch in the bar, which was excellent, and then explored the city. Salamanca is definitely a beautiful city, though I think we would have struggled to entertain ourselves had we had more than one full day there. We ended up eating all our meals in the hotel, the quality of the food was very good and the staff were helpful and attentive.

All in we thought it was a very good stay, but I would worry that I would be roasted if I went back at a hotter time of year!

I chose this place as it advertised parking on site. I was a little concerned that we'd be too far out of town. But it was perfect. Hotel was comfortable with big rooms and great beds etc. Walking into the centre of beautiful Salamanca took about 15 minutes and was a lovely walk, especially when the town is all lit up at night. And what a beautiful town it is. Very happy with our choice.

My only observation is that @ €20 per person, breakfast is a bit steep, so we just went and found a lovely cafe in Salamanca which cost €7 each.

A lovely place to stay with excellent facilities, overlooking the beautiful city of Salamanca, just a short walk down then over the Roman Bridge. Plenty safe parking and the restaurant menu looked good, though we don’t eat there. My only criticism would be the couple of surly, inattentive staff in the bar in the early evening.

Was absolutely spot on fantastic location the whole place was better than expected great big car park had no worries about parking overnight and so close to the town stopped overnight on the way down to Gibraltar

The hotel is a Spanish state-owned chain. The room is super large, and there is a small door leading directly to the Roman bridge and the ancient city. The breakfast is very delicious. The lady Alexandra is warm and cute, and works very efficiently! ! The quality of lunch is also very good and worth tasting!

Nice hitel, beautiful location tiv historical center. A bit of a climb but then you have something.
