Hotel Don Paco in Seville

I don’t usually trust 1-star reviews, as they can be overly harsh, but in this instance, I have to say it’s entirely justified.We were given a room in the hotel's facade facing the street. Buses were picking up groups from 7.30 and noise insulation is non-existent both from the outside as well as from inside the hotel (corridors). Cleaning crew was extremely chatty speaking very loudly right outside our door. I actually had to get up, open the door and ask them to lower their voices. Eventually we told them the room was not acceptable, they apologized and moved us to room facing the internal yard, which resolved the street noise. Needless to say, the cleaning crew was chatting loudly the next day as well. The reception staff dont speak English fluently.

The front service desk folks I encountered both at night and early morning were incredibly unhelpful when asked simple questions, such as is there a place close by to buy coffee. The rooms are loud because of the old pipes, you can hear groaning and creaking when other rooms flush their toilets all night long. The room and hotel overall are very stuffy , and hot. At least the shower is hot, but it switched from scalding hot to cold intermittently.

Terrible, terrible. The nationwide blackout in Spain is unprecedented in history. After the blackout, I asked the hotel to cancel my reservation but was refused. The Spanish railway had not returned to normal the day before departure, and the Barcelona train station where I was was overcrowded. On May 5, the Madrid railway lost its signal and a large number of trains were cancelled. In such a situation, Ctrip refused to cancel the reservation for the sake of revenue. As tourists, we cannot continue the trip at such a great risk. Ctrip's behavior completely lost its basic principles for money, which is outrageous. I accept the loss and give a bad review. Please readers make rational judgments.
