Scandic Oulu Station in Oulu

This is a Scandic chain hotel near Oulu railway station. Booked it because this was the cheapest hotel I could find for that date. Not the cheapest, booked a month in advance, costed 155 € with a refundable rate and Scandic Friends discount. Upon arrival, the reception staff were not the best, but got the job done. We needed the room early so we paid the 20€ extra and went to the room on the second floor. The room was bot the most modern, and not perfectly clean. The sofa in the room was weird, if you sat too far on the edge, the bottom would just fall off. The beds were okay, no bedbugs or anything. There was an old TV, and a table with a chair. The bathroom was very weird. The wall ledges were torn and the paint was partially gone. The shower door was weird as there was a large hole to open the door resulting in the water splashing through it. There was a swimming pool and a sauna, but we didn't use those. There was not much other amenities available. The breakfast was the regular Scandic breakfast, not particularly good but keeps your hunger away. All in all, I don't think this is worth 155 €. If you manage to find a low price, it's doable for one or two nights.

Everything worked well for a overnight pitstop, but not big emotions. Quiet location near trainstation. Breakfast were with Scandic standards. Rooms are luckily renovated nowadays. For this property you can easily reach city and trainstation by foot.

Old hotel with a small facelift does not so mutch. The room was clead but bathroom smell from the sewer was not so nice. The room was hot because there was not any aircondition available. The fridge in the room was warm so it could not be used. If you want to have quality time, do not wisit this place. Renovation would be useful.

There it nothing to do for children. There is a small play corner, but it's in the back of breakfast room and only in use during breakfast. Why is it not elsewhere? If you have small children, go somewhere else.
