Hotel Astor in Vaasa

Great location near the train station and city center, everything within walking distance. Very clean with a charming boutique vibe. Breakfast was excellent, especially the fresh orange juice and fruit. I really enjoyed my stay and will come back again.

Although the reception was automated (no human), the codes we were provided worked fine and we had no trouble finding our room. The room was very tidy.

For a no frills stay, this worked very well. It was clean and quiet. Breakfast was adequate.

Cozy and clean place. Nice newly renovated rooms. Very friendly and helpful stuff. I had excellent tips where to go according to my interests. A lovely location just close to the see.

Visited this nice and peaceful hostel in the middle of the week. The place was easy to find and find a park for the car, too. The stuff was very nice and pollite. Common utilities and areas were in great condition. The stairs to our third floor were quite narrow, if met other in the stairs. The room was just great for short time visiting purposes, atleast. Couple issues to mention with the bathroom; no curtains in the small outside window for the shower causing possible voyerism from the houses other side of the road! Other thing is the automated and non-adjustable light in bathroom. Annoying if visits the toilet at night. Less light would be great 🙂. The breakfast was nice and multiple. Using the doors with the secured door key worked great, too! The lightning-system with the shower was great!

I initially booked Hotel Vallonia - they got in touch with me and told me that they would be closed for the weekend after midsummer - they offered to book a stay at hotel Astor for me, to the initially agreed upon price.
Check-in went well, parking costs 5€ per 24 hours for the Theater Parking Garage the Hotel is cooperating with. The beds are comfy, the pillows are too soft for my liking (brought my own, so wasn't an issue). Towels and soap / body wash are included. The rotary phone is not actually a rotary phone. Air cooler available (not an AC). Lots of stuff for breakfast, but signage could be better (mention whether there is lactose in it or not). The bar menu lists plenty of drinks and also food, but when I tried to order meatballs at 23:30 on my arrival day, I got told that the restaurant is closed (the restaurant/bar is open until 0:30 every day and the menu doesn't say anything about closing time for the food portion of the bar / restaurant). I ordered an aperol spritz which took 10 minutes to make. WiFi is fast.

Very nice breakfast buffet for such a small hotel ! Rooms are clean and spacious enough, but much needed electric and USB power outlets for charging phones and other devices are missing...

Beautifully clean and comfortable. We stayed for 2 separate nights and were glad to return for the second night. Staff are welcoming and the breakfast offers plenty of choice. We would definitely return.
