Where to stay in Vaasa

A little outside of the city. Nice room. Good size double room. Good breakfast with a nice view.

This hotel’s style takes you back to the Finnish 1980-1990s, for better or worse. Everything works, but much of it could do with some renovation. The room we had was extremely basic, the bathroom microscopic, and the sound isolation rather poor. Overall it seems well suited for families with little children, and the staff are very friendly.

Great hotel in a lovely location but wouldn't want to be there in summer season due to theme park next door ( closed in May). Large room, better than some Scandics. Slight odour from drain in bathroom could be off-putting to some. Dinner was good although the waiter forgot my dessert. When we asked for it to be taken off bill, it suddenly appeared. Breakfast was usual good fare.

Hotel Waskia is a great place to stay especially if you want a serene location for your stay. There's a bit of distance to get to the main city however, during the summer days it should be walkable to go to the city but during the winter I always use taxis to commute. The breakfast is alright. There are no phones in the rooms so a bit of back and forth to the reception if you need something.

I was only here for 2 nights and 1 day + a short morning. When I first came here it was great. The dinner we ate was awesome. Not many alternatives but high quality food. We went to visit Power Park, an amusement park in Finland. Great place. I may come here soon.

The hotel is in the center of the city. You can easily take a bus to the airport, too. Breakfast is also nice.

5 stars, great location and while rooms are small they are immensely comfortable. A special shout out to the receptionist when i arrived late on Sunday night, he was very friendly and really made me feel welcomed after a fairly arduous journey.

Located at the city centre. All the restaurants and shopping centers were less than five minutes walk away. Breakfast buffet was amazing and the common facilities like the gym and sauna were also well-maintained. I had a beautiful view of the city centre from my room.

Original Sokos Hotel Royal is situated at the center of Vaasa. The downside is very limited availability of free parking (i.e. none), upside is a central location from everywhere, including the train station. The Hotel is in a very good location. Walking distance to the Railroad station and close to restaurants. Moreover, there is a very good restaurant inside the hotel. Staff is very good and the breakfast is very good as well

Of the 3 different hotels I stayed in in Vaasa, I prefer this one. Clean, great location, good bed, all the services you need. A solid choice, especially if you have a business type of travel.

The hotel is nice, rooms are nice, and this I in a great location - shopping is nearby, restaurants are close, and the train station is just a block away.

Spot on location in the middle of everything. Nice interiors and a small swimming pool and saunas with a cool-off terrace. Breakfast if good and staff is friendly. Remember to download the S-card app to get the meal benefit (12 €/day) that you can use in the restaurant for instance.

My room was a bit small and even though the hotel is renovated the room feels a bit outdated. From the high floor there was really nice. Breakfast was really good and the hotel staff were helpful.

Basic hotel with automatic check-in and self-service access. The door code arrived by email and SMS at 08.00 the morning before arrival. A god sleep hotel with small cabins and modern lavitories is all you need. Other services just outside the hotel. A recomended god hotel option for you.

A tidy and functional but small room in a great location close to the train station and city center. Easy check in and check out. The air condition worked well. I liked the firm beds but would've liked the pillows to be bigger and more supportive of the neck (or to have two) Good quality for little money.

The stay was very pleasant. The staff was helpful, breakfast was good, and the in-room sauna was the best.

Nice suite We very much liked our room, although there was a drip from the air conditioning unit that seemed to be damaging a table. We also had trouble with the suite’s sauna, but we otherwise loved the service and comfort of the hotel. Vaasa is a lovely city.

Accessible room For some reason we got an accessible room, it was big so we didn’t really mind it. However the room got quickly very hot, which can be a problem for those who actually are in need of an accessible room. Especially considering that they might not be able to move by themselves. It has been clear that the old Scandic Vaasa does require renovation and, in fact, it has been going on for a longer while. However it is impossible to stay on the room during daytime due to the noise. Luckily I was away but I suggest to restrict the part that is close to the ongoing works. One of The best hotel in finland

Friendly, clean and quite modern hotel, nice bonus is dinner free of charge. Not exactly in the center of Vaasa, but travelling OK with car, taxi or public transportation.

It was a mixed experience. Arriving late, we had the bufet dinner free of charge. The food was OK enough. The breakfast next day was also good. The room was OK. However, as the booking was made with the option to pay at the property, that did not happen. The hotel took the money from my bank account prior to me be physically present at a property. Very Relaxing stay! A lovely comfortable stay. The room was very large and two comfortable chairs made it even more relaxing for our two night stay! It is older and dated but the service, room, comfort, and kindness was wonderful! Thank you.

Great hotel, great rooms. Very convenient parking. It is important to consider that the diner (buffet) and the parking are included in the price, so at the end it is a good value for money and Hotel Vallonia is a perfect place to stay. The center town of Vaasa is at 40 minutes walking or 5 minutes with the car.

This hotel is on the opposite side of the city center from the train station. Thus, the location might be so-so. However, other than that, I really like this hotel.

Overall everything went smoothly and the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. There is a bit of space in the room for three people.

Good to spend one night during the travel. But we arrived late and tired and they didn’t provide the access codes! After 10h driving you just want to arrive and rest but we had to wait around 45m for somebody to help with the checkin.

Beautifully clean and comfortable. We stayed for 2 separate nights and were glad to return for the second night. Staff are welcoming and the breakfast offers plenty of choice. We would definitely return.
