Break Sokos Hotel Flamingo

Convenient location next to airport however rooms are gross. Shower was filled with mold. And the “restaurants” in the mall next door are gross. I’d recommend driving into Helsinki to stay instead.

I had to cancel my reservation at this hotel just four days before my arrival due to a serious illness. Despite the hotel's terms and conditions stating exceptions for such situations, they refused to accept my doctor's certificate. This lack of flexibility and poor customer service was disappointing. Although I can't comment on the hotel's interior, the experience with their customer relations has been very negative. I will definitely choose a different hotel in Vantaa next time.

Really lovely place, excellent location, but the air-conditioning has been adjusted to not go lower than 24. There is floor heating which you cannot turn off, so in July our room did not cool lower than 25.8 degrees. We changed as air-conditioning was "faulty" and same happened with second room. Unbearably hot. Totally unsuitable for summer stay, when you'd need to cool it down. I feel cheated. Its a serious health issue, as I had a heat stroke only few days before, so I had to stay cool, which is why we chose this hotel.

Lovely staff, lots of kids, but maybe better in winter months.

I stayed with Sokos Flamingo Vantaa for one night 16 to 17 Apr. In general it's nice. Breakfast was delicious, the room was good and there is a shopping mall there for those who need it. The huge problem is: I was charged twice!!! i'm trying continuously to clarify it and to find a solution but there is absolutely no feedback from the hotel side! at the checking something went wrong or to be precise the response time of a payment terminal was too long. so a manager considered that as an error. The next morning I was asked to pay again. I did that. The problem is I still have both payments withdrawn from my bank account. I sent a number of emails and reminders. I called them. not a piece of any feedback from the hotel. unbelievably bad.
