Forenom Hostel Vantaa Airport, Vantaa1 / 16Good price
7.3
Vantaa, Ilmailutie 9 🧭 Map
The price-quality ratio is excellent. The hostel is generally trouble-free. Only some problematic guests are insensitive to the common areas. The hostel is clean, but low-profile guests can cause problems. Transportation is also excellent; a train ride just 900 meters away will take you to central Helsinki in half an hour. It's a 15-minute walk from the airport to the hostel.
Everything was perfect with me, very easy to access, bedroom clean and silence for good sleep. Also good wifi to work if needed. I recommend this!
Very basic rooms, yet clean and tidy. The check-in/check-out process with the keycode worked out well. It's close to the airport, which makes it convenient if arriving late in the evening.
It was wonderful to stay in here for a week, especially this place was surprisingly better than my earlier 4 star hotel. Thanks for keeping it clean and tidy, one suggestion to remove the metallic rod from the entry point door because it could hurt badly to someone while entering into the building.👏🏻
Perfect location for a sleepover between the flights. It's clean and comfortable, however sometimes it's too noisy inside, it's a bit expensive for that type of accommodation and you have make your bed yourself, they only give you linens. Well, the last one I've met everywhere in Helsinki, but it keeps frustrating, especially when you are tired after a long journey
Very clean and we'll managed No service at counter can be a little unorthodox for those who visit the first time.. Beware that you keycode will work only in the building assign to it, there are two hostel buildings very close to each other and the biggest confusion to almost all happens when this info is not properly communicated

This time was better than what I had experienced.
The distance is very close. There is no self-service check-in. The environment is not bad. There are shared bathrooms, laundry rooms, and kitchens. You need to bring your own ingredients. The price is high and it is only about 1.5 kilometers away from Vantaa Airport. It is very cost-effective for those who want to travel for a short time or transfer. It's like living in a semi-forest! The heater is...
Near to airport.relax environment.best place for stay with family.
Self check in only. I made a last minute reservation, so I didn’t receive a check in code by the time I arrived, but was able to get someone on the phone to help. Great customer service over the phone. Everything was sorted out in a few minutes. Everything was very clean in the room.
All areas except my own room were shared. And it was very clean. Shared kitchen, shared bathroom, the room I stayed in. The lack of reception led to a constant accumulation of density. I wouldn't even have given those points without the help of the Russian speaking woman whose patience I admired.

Personnel was not un kind. The rooms were not dirty. It is 40min away from the city centre by bus. For the price (I paid 20€ during a weekend on high season) I would come. Only thing could be better for me is more ventilation in the rooms.
I can't in good faith give this place 4 stars, but I would give it it's a solid 3: it's what you expect for the price, yet it could be better. I would call this a motel rather than a hotel. Cons: • The curtains don't fully shut, and the blinds have a couple holes in them; • The insulation is poor. The humidity reached 94% one night, and it was awful to sleep in. A fan had been provided, which wasn...
Good for an overnight stay. Our third time here once trying to catch first ferry to Tallinn. Perfect location.
I stayed in a room with shared shower and toilet. It was cheap for a hotel in Helsinki. However, it was far from the city center, so transportation costs were higher. The hotel is in District B and can be reached by bus number 77 from Central Station. The hotel had a kitchen so you could cook. You had to bring your own oil, salt and forks. There were three supermarkets within a short walk. There were...
We had a need for a stay-away in Helsinki during our renovation at home. So, even as we travelled as a couple, this was not actually a romantic staycation, more of a escape-to-rest-and-rebuild :) For this purpose Arkadia provided us with the best experience - room 105 (double with good quality bed) was silent and very clean, with silent no-noise night, so our rest was v.good indeed. Arkadia is a...
A decent enough place considering the price point. We stayed at 3person room with shared bathroom. There were six working bathrooms with questionable locks but we managed as we were able to stand guard so to say. (If I were to go alone I’d take a room with bathroom). I strongly suggest bringing your own soap and toilet paper as these might run out during the day. The room itself was nice and well ventilated...

Perfect for a quick stop near the airport.
I think it is one of the cheapest place in Vantaa/Helsinki, there are 20 rooms in a floor which is placed in the top of the building. The hotel at the second floor, and in the first floor there is a kindergarten, so be careful not to go the first floor, and try not to scare children :D. There is no secretary, or assistant to help you, but when you mail them they return immedieatly. They give your room...
Good place to spend a night before the early flight. Self check-in and checkout are perfect
Fantastic value for money! 10 min from airport, very clean, quite, and very comfortable beds!! Absolutely recommend!
Better contact with people than in any hotel I have been in. Cheaper too. Yes you share a bath room and a shower but that is not negative as it saves water. Location 10 minutes from the airport. Breakfast easy to build yourself in the kitchen.
Quite minimal and beautiful. The rooms and the bathrooms were clean. The bed was made each day. Perfect for travelling/business individuals. It was practically self checkin and checkout. Also, it's quite close to the metro and there's a couple of bars and markets close by.

Very nice place to stay in Helsinki. It's located not so far from the city centre with direct bus connection to the airport and right next to the tram stop. The service is really friendly and there's a lot of events going on in the hostel. I booked a 2 person room, which was a good deal in a price-quality relation
Calm and clean always, public transportation everywhere easy to get to the center and beautiful views of Finnish nature
Easy transportation to city center, with plenty of bars and a few grocery stores nearby. Staff is helpful and they have fans you can bring to the room. Large kitchens to cook in. Bathrooms aren't great, but they are reasonably clean and functional, with soap provided. They have social activities planned. It's a good value.
Booked for 3 nights and figured out after checking-in there’s no Air-conditioning in the rooms. Dormitory and rest other chilling areas are nice, clean and spacious but it was really hard to sleep at nights especially during summer wouldn’t recommend booking this hostel unless you don’t mind the heat…
Great hostel to stay in Helsinki! Everything is maintained clean and the rooms, bathrooms and kitchen are well-equipped. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful (in particular Htoo, he made the stay much nicer and entertaining) and there's lots of activities during the week to socialize and have fun, but also tranquility if you just want to chill. Would really recommend!
It's a hostel, so it can get a bit noisy at times, but overall, the atmosphere was friendly and the people were generally very nice. I stayed in the girls' dorm for one night, and it was a decent experience. The staff were helpful, and the location is well connected to both the city center and the airport via trams and buses. There's also a convenient store right in the building, which was a great...

The room was really small but it’s a nice and cheap place in a good enough position: 10’ from the metro👍🏻
The view from the 11th floor of a large building is amazing! You can see the Helsinki CBD. When entering the building, there were many number pads from other tenants, so it was difficult to get in. The room was relatively clean, but the shared shower and toilet were old. The window did not open and I did not know how to adjust the air conditioner, so it was uncomfortable to sleep. However, for this...
I had a wonderful stay at Skyhostel. The view is simply magnificent, and the location is superb.
good luck finding the entrance
It is rather difficult to find the entrance to the building when approaching from tram. The place was quite hot and bedsheet was just not holding on the bed. Otherwise ok.

The hotel was good for solo traveller cost also cheap
a bit hard to find the location and unclear instructions, other than that, everything is great.
I was worried about whether I could get into the room, but I was able to contact them using WhatsApp, which I installed in Japan. The room had a refrigerator, a water heater, cups, forks, etc. It was a convenient location.
It's nice to have single rooms. Self check in.
Good clean facility in general, however, I hope they paid more attention to deep cleaning inside the rooms. Sound isolation is not good too. I had a bed without sheet and broken leg!!🙃
Great location to stay! Rooms cleaned, well-looking, views are just amazing as the hotel is located on 9th floor. Prices are also good. Staff is nice and helpful.
Hakaniemi shopping hall and Tokoi beach can be seen from the window. Shopping center Redi and Korkeasaari within walking distance. A clean room, own kettle and fridge is a big plus. Clean shared toilet and shower facilities. Friendly service, uncomplicated and effortless.

This is a relatively cheap & basic hostel. It is fine for a 1 night stop, but would not recommend any longer. The beds are basic but work/practical. The rooms are OK. the toilet / showers are shared with a set for females / males on each floor. It is situated a bit away from things but not too far (20 min walk to the 'centre').
Good hostel! Very close to the Viking Line ferry terminal which was super convenient for my day trip to Estonia and overnight ferry to Stockholm. The private twin room was affordable and large enough to spread out my stuff. The staff were friendly and helpful. I recommend!
Nice place for backpackers or travelers with low budget. Easy to find the hotel, room are quite nice but can get noisy at night and early morning. Get prepared to put your bed linen in the room. 😂 Shared bathroom is not equipped with shower gel... In case you forget yours... I won't recommend the breakfast, very simple and not appealing for me.
Reception is nice ! Here is suitable for the person who needs to take Viking line . It’s only few minutes walk.
Very adequate hostel. Rooms give what you need and helpful 24hr desk. Morning sauna is a bonus. Very helpful location a short tram into town. Bathrooms and kitchen fine. Breakfast and restaurant expensive for what you get.
The room was very tidy and within walking distance of both the ferry and the city center. The breakfast was simple and homely, not luxurious but had everything I needed.

If you do not mind sharing rooms with strangers, this hostel in Helsinki is good for you. Luggage room is accessible by all customers, take your own risk. One shower room’s lock is broken and the door cannot be completely closed. A gap between partition is seen but can be covered by the shower curtain. Plenty rooms for showers.
Central and clean, but missing atmosphere / character. Also easy to get to the airport from the accommodation
Hotels are expensive in Helsinki, so if you want to save money, staying at a hostel is a good option. It's located in the city center, so transportation is great. The hotel entrance is a little hard to find, but enter through the door on the left (west) side of the store "kosmos." Shoes are not allowed inside the room, so it's a good idea to bring slippers. Modern and cozy hostel , close the central station only 3-5mins walk highly recommended
Good for solo traveller. But the room area is not big, maybe inconvenient for someone who have large luggage.

Amazing hostel and definitely my favorite one so far! Clean, cozy, and amazing staff! Next time I come to Helsinki I will definitely be back. Thank you!
Excellent location and old building, old furniture. Definitely good choice for people who want to save money staying in the city center. But beds are old, two stores, old towels and old furniture, used by a lot of people for many years. I stayed in room number 6, and you can hear everything in the corridor and behind the walls there, hear from your bed other guests talking behind the wall. The private...
Roughly, A kilometre away from the central railway station, the place can be reached in 10-12 mins by walk. It's neat and bed/rooms affordable. It has toilets, kitchen and showers. Great places, only had one roommate super peaceful hostel, ferry was absolutely on time so make sure you schedule yourself for that otherwise it’s a solid 40 mins wait in winter.
We stayed for 4 nights on our trip to Helsinki and we could not have had a better experience. The hostel is cosy, quaint and right next to the ferry stop that takes you to the mainland. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We usually avoid breakfast buffets as we find them a bit hectic but the Hostel Suomenlinna breakfast was quiet and not stressful at all. There are cute graphics everywhere that...
Clean and relaxed hostel on the fortress island of Suomenlinna. Amenities for children (baby crib, highchair and chest of toys) are available. The hostel is housed in an old redbrick building that used to serve as an elementary school. We had a wonderful stay and hope to visit again!
The hostel is located on an island but is easily accessible from the mainland by ferries that operate at an interval of at most 40 minutes. The hostel building was actually an early military barrack and has the old charm from outside but once you are inside, it is a nice modern hostel with most facilities. The rooms were clean and beds comfy. The staffs were helpful and helped me a lot in planning...
Calm and affordable place to stay near the city centre, located in the Suomenlinna sea fortress. The short distance to the ferry makes it easy to reach. Maybe not perfect to go out in the centre for a long night as the last ferry is at 2.20 to the island but this is better for a quiet and historical retreat for the evening and enjoy the beautiful sceneries of the Helsinki archipelago.
Great hostel, clean and tidy, super close to the ferry stop.

There is a subway station downstairs and the Papillon Cinema is next door. Alexanderplatz is close to the airport line, and it takes 40 minutes to get to the airport. The bed in the room is quite big The corridor is a bit dirty There is a single bathroom The bar can be a bit noisy at night Service: Not bad
There is no soap in the shower room, so we recommend that you bring your own! The room was a twin, but it was surprisingly large and comfortable. However, the bed is a little narrow, so it may be difficult for some people. It was a good impression for me personally.
Cleanliness was not perfect. Especially the floor and bathroom. The beds are quiet good but not as shown in the images.
Our staing in hostel forum went a bit strange from restaurant downstairs recepción without anyone up to bathroom and shower a bit too old school. But room was very nice equipped with fridge and kettle for hot water sink and TV. If I would be alone wouldn't mine stay there but as a family no!
The price is great. Close proximity to subway (5 mins walk). Clean. Large room. Free laundry room. Walls are paper thin though, quite a bit of noise constantly and there's not even a simple sink in room. It's a much better hostel than many because you can get a room just for yourself. As for the rest, it's just like a clean Scandinavian hostel really.
A nice clean. Affordable accommodation. Although it would be better if there was a lift to aid getting to higher floors

While slow traveling through southern Finland, I stayed 3 nights at the hostel, which was fine for me, but definitely seemed like an anomaly to people at the hostel. The hostel is definitely dated and paper thin floors and walls. You can hear people snore in the room next to you very easily. The bathrooms are actually nicely equipped and you have good water pressure, which was a surprise. Wifi throughout...
A hostel in a historical, wooden house - creaking, a bit windy but charming house with quiet and very clean rooms and showers and a very friendly hostess. Good enough common kitchen, private fridges - very practical. Value for your money if you want to visit the charming town of Porvoo!
Distance: Approximately a 1.5-kilometer walk to the old town of Porvoo, grocery stores, restaurants, and the ski area. Host: A lovely lady with whom we had many great conversations about movies and accommodated the timings of check-in based on our convenience. Rooms: The four-shared spacious dormitory had wardrobes, a refrigerator, a television, and a dining table for four. Amenities: Shared washrooms...
Bed was comfortable, my only complaint was the lack of blackout shades for summer. Not too far away from city center.
Very cool place with a great history: former maternal house. Don't you wanna stay in the midst of the place where life was born? Simple but cute and tidy.
