Personnel was not un kind. The rooms were not dirty. It is 40min away from the city centre by bus. For the price (I paid 20€ during a weekend on high season) I would come. Only thing could be better for me is more ventilation in the rooms.
I can't in good faith give this place 4 stars, but I would give it it's a solid 3: it's what you expect for the price, yet it could be better. I would call this a motel rather than a hotel.
Cons:
• The curtains don't fully shut, and the blinds have a couple holes in them;
• The insulation is poor. The humidity reached 94% one night, and it was awful to sleep in. A fan had been provided, which wasn...
Good for an overnight stay. Our third time here once trying to catch first ferry to Tallinn. Perfect location.
I stayed in a room with shared shower and toilet.
It was cheap for a hotel in Helsinki.
However, it was far from the city center, so transportation costs were higher.
The hotel is in District B and can be reached by bus number 77 from Central Station.
The hotel had a kitchen so you could cook.
You had to bring your own oil, salt and forks.
There were three supermarkets within a short walk.
There were...
We had a need for a stay-away in Helsinki during our renovation at home. So, even as we travelled as a couple, this was not actually a romantic staycation, more of a escape-to-rest-and-rebuild :) For this purpose Arkadia provided us with the best experience - room 105 (double with good quality bed) was silent and very clean, with silent no-noise night, so our rest was v.good indeed. Arkadia is a...
A decent enough place considering the price point. We stayed at 3person room with shared bathroom. There were six working bathrooms with questionable locks but we managed as we were able to stand guard so to say. (If I were to go alone I’d take a room with bathroom). I strongly suggest bringing your own soap and toilet paper as these might run out during the day.
The room itself was nice and well ventilated...

Overall OK but corridor never clean..
This is a very good place to stay. The price is very reasonable and the studio has everything you need.
Everything is good with the place, with a gym and sauna. The place is around 40 mins away from the city centre with public transport.
It’s very good stay and I really enjoyed a lot
Very nice mini apartment.
Place has everything.
Room had everything from dishwasher, oven and washing machine.
Nice little balcony. Fridge and freezer with ice available.
Location is not convenient and u didn’t need see any staffs here, even check in. I would not stay here when travel in Finland, for it’s not convenient from here to center location.

Super clean, big and fashionable room

I would love to stay here again
In the summer. We need an air conditioner, please.
Highly recommended for anyone staying in Helsinki!
Located between the airport and Helsinki Central Station.
The rooms are very clean and spacious, with a kitchen so you can cook your own meals. ✨ There's also a washing machine, and you can hang your laundry in the room! The train noise is a bit of a concern, but other than that it's not a problem. There's a large supermarket at the nearest station...
A lovely service apartment that is close to a train station - connecting between the airport and the city centre. It's a modern style apartment with all the amenities equipped - sauna, gym, shared kitchen, and shared living spaces. The apartment room is clean and modern, and contains everything you need even kitchen equipment and laundry. I highly recommend this place if you visit Helsinki.
Just 1 walking minute from the Malmi station, which is served by the airport line (only 15 minutes to the airport), so very conveniently located. Our late check-in (1am in the morning) was working fine, just had to type many details into the tablet computer (maybe this could be pre-filled before arrival). The room was cheap for that price and had all needed amenities. It was clean too. We can recommend...

Hotel ideally located to where I needed to go for business meetings. Also very close to the airport. Hotel has shuttle bus service to and from the hotel or Uber will cost about €6.50.
Cabs from hotel may cost more. Just use Bolt or Uber.
Breakfast is a must at the hotel and there is a huge choice from continental to to cooked breakfast.
They provide shuttles from/to airport. The room is big and nice breakfast. Nice and friendly staff.
I chose this hotel for its convenience to the airport and also at it was close to a friend I was visiting. I had not very high expectations as airport hotels aren’t generally great. Close to airport with a shuttle to/from. Easy walk to bus stop with very regular schedule to Helsinki city center. Rooms are super clean with appropriate amenities. Hotel restaurant is quite good, too! I'd totally stay again.
Excellent accommodation, very nice ano kind staff personnel. Very good standards for services and breakfast. The breakfast has a very huge type of food, and it opens very early morning (for those are travelling is exceptional).

The vàntaa Tikkurila was very near to the train station which had a good location and good amenities with groceries nearby

A rather new hotel, located a few kilometers north of the central Helsinki in a shopping mall. Our room was very clean and shiny, and the bed was actually a comfortable one. Reception service was great, room was spacious and the beds bigger than standard. It was also really nice to be able to book the sauna just for us - we managed to get the last timeslot. Breakfast was lovely and actually the fact that it was in a separate building across the courtyard was nice because then you had a nice walk across there in the fresh morning air.
Beautiful hotel just enough at the side of all noisy and busy town centers that it's nice and quiet.
Room was clean well designed and spacious. Toilet/shower was clean and spacious as well. Only downside was the noise from the a/c but it wasn't noisy enough to stop from getting a good night of sleep.
Breakfast was fantastic. Plenty of warm and cold items to choose from and everything was fresh.
A really lovely experience, we stayed at a traditional Finnish cottage close to the lake. Comfortable bed, beautiful tranquil scenery. Friendly staff and very helpful. Mini kitchen could be better equipped and more variety for people with allergies provided at breakfast (bread was dry), but otherwise we were happy with our stay.

Room is relatively big and comfortable. Pillows too soft for me though. Note there is no lift and you need to carry ur luggages to 2nd floor. Dental kits can be obtained from reception. Breakfast ends at 930am - a tad early for us. Facing the busy street so you can hear all the cars and trams passing by.

Hellsten Senate Apart-hotel
Helsinki, Kauppiaankatu 5 🧭 Map
The hotel itself is very cozy, clean and comfortable. But the minus is the fact that after 11pm the zone becomes completely "dead". There's no a single small store, mini market, small pharmacy, literally anything in more than 2km around. It makes no sense for me at all. There's no restaurant or bar or shop in the hotel itself, not even a snack dispenser. The reception closes at 7pm. But the rooms are...
Nice flat in a really nice area, surrounded by elegant Art Nouveau/Romantic Nationalist buildings. Flat is spacious and comfortable; tram stop just a few steps away. No frills, but a laundry room on site. Building has a lift. Bathroom/shower could be a bit more pleasant. Recommended.
Very nice place so far. A little dated in the apartment but not too bad for a small weekend trip to Helsinki.
*Updated review- Unique apartment hotel and good location. Tram 4 was right around the corner and you can take it to the city center.
For Americans staying there, the bathroom outlet is located in the light above the sink. There's a little flap/door you have to lift and you can plug in the...
Great spacious apartments but very cheaply fitted. Could definitely do with an eye for detail being run over the place and furnished in a more luxurious way versus the very obvious "cheapest possible materials" approach. It's obvious the maintenance person is a bodge fix type that just gets things working. That said, for a reasonable nights stay at a reasonable (for Finland) price then this is a good...
Cozy apartment, with a kitchen, fridge, table, shower, double sized bed and TV. Quite spacious as well. Included some complimentary coffee and tee.
Everything was tidy and I had no issues. The price was not bad either.
Overall, no complaints!
Nice room, more like a serviced apartment. Lots of space, with a kitchen, sauna, and living room. We had 4 people, 2 in twin beds in the bedroom, 2 on single beds in living room, which was a bit light at night. Location is ok, a bit out of the way but only 15 mins walk from the centre.

Elaborately designed and implemented renovation.
Peaceful.
Beds comfortable and soft enough for me.
Nice bath in the room.
Comprehensive breakfast.
Interesting interior.
Excellent servive.
Location close to see and city center. Tram stop in 50 meters.
Enjoyed!
A pity that this wasn't the situation during the prison time.
The hotel has a campaign for breakfast at the rate of 17e per adult. Comparing to the weekend breakfast & brunch price in average, this price is quite competitive. This is the reason why we decided to try it out as locals (not staying at the hotel). The breakfast selection is at the average level and I liked the mushroom taste quite much. The campaign is valid till the end of this month.
Nice and interesting since it’s an old jail. Situated a bit out on Katajanokka, tram just outside or a 10 min walk to downtown. Sauna is only on weekends. Breakfast was good but in the rather dark basement. Not so much nice lobby-areas. The charged price didn’t meet expectations, should be a 40EUR less per night according to the standard offered.
A one of the most amazing hotel experience! It’s made of old prison and result is wonderful! We had a superior room where we had a really nice and big bathroom. Room was decorated stylish and with high quality. The room had also books what was very nice detail. Hotel is great experience and lot to see. You can see a history of the building - there is two originals cells what you can go to see and also...
• Great place overall.
• Tram right in front of the hotel.
• The history of this building has been well preserved.
• Breakfast had a good variety.
• Rooms are fantastic.
• The cleaning staff did an outstanding job every single day.
• Grocery store nearby.
Thank you all for your hard work.
It's been a pleasure staying here.
Can recommend!
Stayed the night here in 2009 New Years eve, had the best time ever. Still reminisce over our stay here. Beautifull rooms, excellent (!) beds, delicious breakfast and the most kimd staff!
The New Years eve atmosphere with the wonderful singing choirs and beautiful lighting at the Helsinki town square sure added to the whole experience.
Sure hope to return here one day and would recommend to anyone...

Töölö Towers
Helsinki, Pohjoinen Hesperiankatu 23 A 🧭 Map
I enjoyed my stay at Toolo Towers. It's not far from the city centre and at the same time is located in a quiet area. My room was very clean and comfortable, there was a well equipped kitchen, a desk, two chairs and a TV. The views from the window and from the terrace are wonderful. There is also a sauna and breakfast was quite good. Staff was nice, helpful and polite. Perhaps the pillows could be...
Great location . Bit of upmarket hostel
Met some professionals
Breakfast was good
Rooms are basic no air conditioning, no fan available
For drinks you can use kitchen on the floor
Staff were nice
The hotel is in a great location, with convenient public transportation, a rich and quality breakfast, and complete kitchenware in the room. It is worth recommending to friends who come to Helsinki next time!
The hotel is like a service apartment. The staff is very nice, the room/kitchen is very clean and sorted. They offer simple breakfast but you can also cook by yourself, or go to nearby cafe to enjoy. It’s suitable for a long-term stay traveller or a traveller who likes to cook during the trip.
I stayed here for two nights in November 2024.
The room type is a single room.
Overall, it is a clean hotel.
The room is equipped with everything you need, such as a TV, desk, bed, refrigerator, clothes rack, and one-seater sofa.
There were outlets next to the desk and under the TV.
There was a hair dryer and large and small towels in the toilet and bathroom. There was no air conditioner.
The shared...
It's not exactly in the center of Helsinki, but it's not too far off the mark either.
Although it is a hotel, it seems to be owned by a university, and is indeed a dormitory-like facility suitable for long-term stays. There is also a laundry room for your own use.
Even though the check-in process is done by yourself, the staff were kind enough to take their time to assist each person, which was very...
