Negrecoste Hotel & Spa

Lovely hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious and the beds are exceptionally comfortable, the dining area extending on to the patio is great, and the bar is well stocked. There is a hot tub, sauna and steam room and a range of massage treatments. We chose a relaxing one and really enjoyed it. But the best thing about this hotel is the staff. Some had been there on our previous visit and were delighted to welcome us back. For our anniversary, they surprised us by arranging the room with rose petals and towel swans and a sweet note of congratulations. They always go out of their way to help. On this occasion, I was a victim of fraud and the receptionist came to the bank's ATM to assist.

Really cannot say enough good things about this hotel! The staff are warm, friendly and helpful, and the room was nice and clean. The restaurant is fantastic and you cannot beat the location. It is the perfect spot to have when exploring Aix en Provence. The spa was wonderful and the parking is right behind the hotel. My husband speaks conversational French but many of the staff at the front desk speak English as well.
For those coming by car and needing to park, you do need to call the hotel when you are close. They need to lower two sets of columns in the street and they instruct you on how to navigate this. This is a small thing to navigate, especially when you account for having parking in the center of the city. You can walk right out of your hotel into the market, and have the most relaxing, pleasant stay in the city!

Accessing the parking was not easy but the staff, especially Karine (probably misspelt), were brilliant, actually coming into the street to guide us. The location in excellent right in the city centre. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the Cours Mirabeau, the glazing cut out all the noise. Aircon was very efficient and the bed comfortable, lovely bathroom with very good towels and toiletries. Dinner on the terrace was very good. Best of all was the quality of the service cheerful, unfussy and efficient.

My wife and I spent two nights at the Hotel Negrecoste in October 2022. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in Aix. It has a great location right in the center of the old part of Aix, on the beautiful Cours Mirabeau. We had the prestige room which had a comfortable king size bed and a spacious bathroom with a lavish tub and separate shower. The room had generous amenities including robes and slippers. I got two great nights of sleep. The hotel arranged for shuttle from the airport, and for a shuttle to take us to Avignon to board our cruise.

Great hotel, great staff, great location! This was one of the best experiences. We came here under difficult circumstances because the sister hotel we booked was not adequate, and the staff at both were super helpful to get us settled. Wanted restaurant reservations, no problem. Wanted information on local cafes, no problem. Whatever the question, they were quick to handle it. I vote them 5 glorious stars!

This place was fantastic! Rooms are facing the storybook-like Cours Mirabeau. Super high Ceilings and modern renovation details convey grandeur right upon arrival. We were impressed by every single detail from the personal care products to the Calisson d’Aix they put on the desk. Restaurant is innovative and delivers excellent service. Portions are a bit small, but it was made up for by the free breakfast right on the patio, which is great for people watching all year round. Country to other reviews, rooms are super quiet and there are black-out blinds for the most comfy night of sleep. Mattress and linen are 5 star hotel calibre. Highly recommended!
