Incredible hotel! We loved our stay. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, the bathrooms are modern with everything working perfectly. The front desk redeemed our holiday, there service in English was great, the maid, laundry and the beautiful balcony off the breakfast was what I imagined France would be.

Very clean and tidy, the decoration is also very new, the bathroom water temperature is high and the water pressure is high, and the breakfast is also delicious. It is just on the edge of the old town, convenient for vehicles to arrive, and only a 1-minute walk from the train station.

The service provided by the staff could not have been any better. An excellent location in Aix to explore the city and easy access to public transport. Breakfast selections were broad and fresh pastries excellent.

Wish We Spent Longer This is a beautiful property - we just stayed one night passing though but it was quite memorable. We dined at the gastronomique restaurant and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was very helpful and kind and gave us a lovely tour of the property.

This is my first review on TripAdvisor, but I had to make a note of how incredible this hotel was! Not only was the setting stunning, with exceptional attention to detail in design and luxury, but the staff was incredible friendly, fun, and kind to my friend and I. I'm really struggling the understand why this only has 1 Michelin star... For me, it was right on par with certain of my favorite 3 star restaurants. The hotel is located in a,slightly industrial area, however do not let this put you off as there are bars and restaurants around and in the hotel which are really good. The Hoyel Le Nelson itself is a very nice, modern hotel and the room is very comfortable. The shower facilities are good but the bathroom door design is strange. The sliding door does not completely close, instead leaving a gap that results in magnification of any sounds emerging from the bathroom. The hotel is located just off the main highway so is accessible. The room is basic but very clean. Super bed and lovely bathroom.

Very average hotel, no privacy in the room. Aircon was inoperative and after asking to fix it nothing happened. You cannot ventilate the room unless you open the door to the public space. Lots of noise in conference room from other rooms, uncomfortable seats.

I've enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Artea very much. The old walls, and the fireplace in the room fit in with the picturesque atmosphere of the old town of Aix-en-Provence. The considerate service helped to make my stay very comfortable.

The hotel is updated, very clean, pleasant public area/front desk and restaurant with lots of windows for breakfast, included in our rate. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed it thoroughly. Parking was free. Located on the avenue des belges, it is a minute walk to cour mirbeau and Aix’s main attraction areas. Staff was very friendly.

Excellent location, modest outdated rooms, reasonable breakfast and remarkably kind and helpful team. It's not a 4star hotel at all! It's an old 2 star with a 3star breakfast. If you are looking for good equipment, charming buildings and more service, this is not the hotel for you. Well placed hotel for visiting Aix en Provence. A well equipped room, good size bathroom and very comfortable bed. The continental breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The hotel also provides free secure parking, a real bonus in this area. All staff were helpful and friendly at all times

The only reason that this place got 4 and not 5 points, is because they have a very poor internet connection and they don't even care. The hotel is pretty amazing, the old farm vibes are charming, they have a lovely restaurant, very nice breakfast options, everything is simply perfect. If only they could explain to the guests why they have no way to connect to the internet.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! One of my most memorable stays. We were here in October of 2014. The staff was very helpful to us English speakers. The grounds were beautiful. We took multiple day trips from the hotel. It was a lovely hotel with a perfect location!

We had the pleasure of staying here only one night however loved what we saw. We wished we could have stayed longer. We arrived in the evening and were told the restaurant was fully booked, however that was no problem as we were able to order off the room service menu and sit in the patio outside. I don't usually book a two-star hotel but I was attracted by the photo of the garden, which I assumed was tiny. It's not. I also assumed I'd be a difficult distance outside the old city. I wasn't. AND I got to stay inside my budget! Breakfast is served in the garden -- a basket of bread and croissant, butter and jam and a madeleine and a yogurt and a pot of coffee. No luxury stay, but convenient, nicely decorated rooms and near Aix. Parking convenient if you take the garage next door (parking pasteur, 20$/day) only complaint is the bathrooms need a renovation soon.

Room seemed renovated and was clean. Staff was friendly and location is perfect. We bought diner on the market and ate it in the nice garden of the hotel. Only downside is the lack of parking space but this cannot be expected for the price.

The location of the hotel is excellent particularly during the period of the Cezanne exhibition of 2025 because it is less than 200 meters from the Granet museum where the works of Cezanne are exhibited. It is also within walking distance to most attractions in Aix. The hotel though small is clean and well kept.

Very spacious room with French windows that open. The air conditioning worked very well and was quiet. The room decor made you feel like you were staying in a Chateau.

Very special place. Everything is like from the early 80's, very old-fashioned. So, if that's to your taste, great! If you're looking for something modern, this is NOT the place. The owner is kind and keeps a close eye on everything that happens in the place. Clean and OK in that sense. About 20 min walk to central Aix.
