Hotel PALMITO

Don’t be fooled by nice pictures, check the rooms yourself before checking in. Otherwise, you will fall into the dark, claustrophobic burrow, with no sunlight. The only window is in a deep and narrow niche that you have to squeeze into to see if it's day or night. Even then, you can only see the walls and a patch of sky high up. The room is much smaller than advertised, unless you add the balcony in a deep, dark, concrete well.
On the other hand, the hotel is well located and the staff is very friendly. You can probably spend a really nice time there, as long as you get a decent room. We weren't so lucky, so we changed hotels, and the money we paid was easily refunded.

Summary: feels like a kind of party hotel that while was is still ok today was once quite nice, is now in need of much maintenance.
Pros: good service and location, nice overall aesthetic
Cons: very loud (across from a club bar) and everything is kind of falling apart (our balcony door was damaged so it didn’t close correctly, the shower door had the rubber sealant coming apart so it didn’t shut properly, and the tv remote had the rubber coming off)

Easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Worse the a formula hotel or a travel lodge.

Aircon broken, rooms were about 40 degrees, open window onto a party strip which had shouting till 4 am, had an argument with the receptionist at 3 in the morning about it. It also has cockroachs which I spent time killing with a toilet brush.

They sold ear plugs for 40 euros, they are creating a false economy here.

Receptionist did not offer compensation or a different room, just shrugged, no apology.

Spend a bit more and go somewhere actually nice. Who would try to fix problems when you report them

He did not offer to change room and I asked if we could.

Air con was not working perfectly regardless what your new dash board was telling you, I made that clear to him.

On your CCTV you would have seen me coming down twice to talk to him. As he kept saying it was working.

He refused to come up and check himself.

I apologise about the surf earplug noise earplug error, that was a huge mistake.

To respond like I am a lying difficult customer, when I am not is rather pathetic. I have never left a bad review at a hotel before. As a business owner, in denial about any criticism that comes your way, I am sure your hotel will remain in this state forever.

We got the tropical ocean room not knowing that these rooms are placed right in front of the palmito restaurant. If you get a tropical ocean room, though you are paying more than standard, they all face out onto the street. Unfortunately, at night the restaurant blasts on top volume reggae, bachata, mariachi, and club music till midnight or one in the morning. And the songs repeat themselves. The sound proof doors only get rid of 75% of the sound. It is strange to me that the business would create something that diminishes the quality and reputation of their primary business. So, if everyone in your party does not have noise cancelling headphones, I wouldn't book this type of room. The size of the room and cleanliness were to what I expected, however there was a lot of dust under the bed. I did ask for two extra towels to get sent up to my room, but that never happened, stating there were not enough towels to go around the hotel at the time. The reception personnel that I interacted with on a daily basis were kind and helpful.
