Really nice place and excellent location at city center. Really nice environment and highly recommend.
Good location, wide variety of breakfast options.
Very handy location for the ferry. Beds incredibly comfortable. Quite noisy outside due to city centre location. Not enough staff at breakfast so couldn’t maintain supply of plates, knives etc quickly enough or clear tables at peak time. Odd system in the room where you had to press a button before you could open the door. Not sure what the advantage of that is. Layout of family room was nice to give...
Good location with restaurants around. Basic facilities inside the room and it's fine for a short-stay. The hotel car-park is small and only a few parking lots available. Luckily can park on-street nearby.
Service was good! There was some stain on the carpet in the room. If the breakfast could come with hot choices would be perfect.
Calais doesn’t have much to offer ; more of a transit town . IBIS is a little random ; rooms are minimal but convenient for a nights sleep. Breakfast is reasonable with good buffet selection

Just stayed for one night after arriving from England - nice location and decent room
This was a economically priced hotel which did exactly what was offered - a clean comfortable room which is fine for one night and close to two centre transport links.
Thanks massively to the guy who checked us in - very easy and quick. About 8 min walk from the train station. Lovely, quiet area. Room was clean and nice for one night's stay. Bar area was an added bonus and we returned to use it before leaving Calais. Thank you massively
The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff made a very stressed Texan feel welcome and comfortable, during a very difficult time. Excellent place, excellent staff, and perfect location.
The hotel located inside city centre and opposite there is a mall and Carriefour which is very convenient , staff is very helpful and they are so nice to offers us tea at the middle of night
Close to city center Clean Nice front desk staff

Great location near to the port of calais. The hotel looks a bit dilapidated on the outside, in fact there was a derelict Hotel next door which looked nicer!. The car park left you wondering if your car would be safe there overnight. The reception was bright and lively the staff were friendly and welcoming. Fortunately our room was on the ground floor as there was no lift. Our room was quite small...
Been staying here a few years now. Staff are so friendly and helpful also all speak english. Pets allowed. good food menu. 5 mins away from eurotunnel.
Well located for car ferry and Eurotunnel Overall a good stay. Well positioned for the car ferries and Eurotunnel. Room a little tired but the hotel is undergoibg some refurbishment. Excellent buffet breakfast, sets you up for a day of travelling. Guests should note that the on site restaurant is closed Saturdays and Sundays and there is not a lot in the area surrounding the hotel. I had a 3 night...
The hotel is a good place for an overnight stay and conveniently situated for the crossing. There is a bus stop nearby for a hike into the T/c but not very good diners nearby to sample French cooking. It could be said the place might be overpriced for B&B in Calais perhaps more competition may alleviate that issue.
Very pleased with the room and service!
Clean, easy to check in and fantastic location if you are taking the Shuttle back to the UK. Great stop-over hotel.

Hotel Meurice, Calais1 / 23High rating

Calais, 5 Rue Edmond Roche 🧭 Map
Yet another stay! We occasionally try alternatives, but these stays away from the magnificent Meurice only convince us that we are right to believe that nothing can beat this wonderful, atmospheric hotel. As is normal in hospitality, staff change regularly and work different shift patterns. On this occasion the receptionist saw our car arriving and came outside to meet us. We had never met her before...
From the minute we walked in this hotel it wrapped us in Old fashioned French charm. The decor, furniture and sweeping staircase set the scene for a charming visit to this lovely hotel. The receptionist was friendly and informative, she spoke excellent English. She gave us directions to the Square in the heart of Calais where there was a very good choice of restaurants. When we went up to our room...
Didn't like the hard close room doors, which slammed with an immense thud. Otherwise perfect. Lots of character and maintained to a high standard. Certainly the best Calais has to offer.
We started our motorbike tour staying here 25/07/25. the receptionist was very accommodating and welcoming, we even got secure underground parking. It is slightly dated but in a good way. Class furniture that doesn’t go out of date. We then came back to this hotel on 02/08/25 after not being welcomed at our Reims hotel so my friends booked the room and we travelled another 270kms to Calais to be...
Stayed 4 nights at the beginning of July and had such a fantastic time. Reception and breakfast staff are lovely, friendly and welcoming. The room was perfect, with a large comfortable bed, power shower, hanging/folding space for clothes etc. The bathroom was well stocked with essentials: cotton buds, shower cap, soap/shower gel, nail file, comb. There was also tea/coffee/water plus many English...
A little tired, and reminisent of times gone by. Extremely helpful young lad when we arrived on Saturday evening, but breakfast lady was impatient and rude about our small dog, which we paid extra to have stay, not being allowed into breakfast. I've no problem with that but the manner in which we were told was terrible given she is no doubt building a career in hospitality. Update: 12th May. I have...

Enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable, excellent breakfast including a cooked breakfast. The staff are very helpful. It's a ten minute walk from the town centre and all the bars and restaurants. Plus it's free parking outside. Used calais as a base to visit places of interest in the area.
Arrived late and was warmly welcomed. The hotel was not modern but still was in keeping with 80s french design. Good night's sleep that was definitely needed.
This is a great little Hotel. Not crazy prices, very friendly and helpful staff. Also dog friendly which was very important for me. It’s not the most modern, but the room was clean and fresh and clearly well kept. Well placed for crossing the channel either on the ferry or the shuttle. Close to amenities and the station.
We came very late with the ferry so we had to stop for the night. We could check-in after 22h30 and had a good night rest . Room was clean and perfect disposition for a small family.
Excellent, central location, near to all the cafes, bars, restaurants and the square. Secure parking. Helpful attentive staff and modern, spacious rooms. Great variety of breakfast.
Location wise it was good, staff very helpful, very good breakfast, bed very comfy, downside, the hotel could do with a refresh, room was abit run down, but clean.

Stayed for 1 night. Excellent check in staff, very comfortable bed and the rooms are spotless. Breakfast was simple but very good. The staff asked if they could help us many times which was very much appreciated. We don’t speak French unfortunately, but they spoke very good English. Highly recommended for a clean comfortable short stay.
This hotel gave us a very good mini break for the December Calais markets. We are both immobile (wife in a wheelchair) and the accessible room was good. i am always keen to leave feedback on disability issues.Breakfast was great - unlike some hotels they kept a hawk-like eye on what needed topping up! Staff were always friendly and helpful when we were coping with our mobility. Not a UK 4 star, but...
My recent experience at the IHG Calais hotel confirmed its good location for visitors planning a one or two-day trip to Calais and surrounding area. The hotel is quite close to the pier, it offers immediate access to the port area, especially when it takes 30 minutes to pass the custom before you can get on the vessel. Besides, it is surrounded by a handful of charming restaurants and cozy cafes. ...
2nd stay here. Great place to stop after getting off Le Tunnel. Breakfast worth the money. Good size rooms and very comfy bed. Only noisy if you leave the windows open, otherwise slept very well. Lots of restaurants near by for dinner and great area to walk around after dinner. Would recommend staying before heading back to England or before starting your journey in France.
This is definitely not a four-star hotel. It is very old. Some of the furniture is unusable. The mattresses and pillows are also old and uncomfortable. Renovation is urgently needed. Unfortunately, the hotel has nothing to do with the chain behind it. BUT: the staff—especially Christopher—are all super nice and helpful. They are all very service-oriented and quickly fulfill all requests. Unfortunately...
