Hotel Meurice

Our third visit to this magnificent hotel in the heart of Calais in 2025 and other trips already planned.
Melanie and Thierry provide their customers with a wonderful experience with exemplary customer service. All of the staff are so welcoming and friendly.
The rooms are lovely, with new comfortable mattresses and the bedding is always clean and fresh. We stayed in a superior room and the facilities in the room are fantastic. Lovely en suite shower room, large with a walk in rain shower.
Breakfast is buffet style with hot and cold options that offer something for all. Excellently presented and prepared.
Paid underground parking is safe a d secure.
We cannot recommend this hotel enough, we regularly travel from Nottingham for just a night in Calais, and staying at this hotel is one of the main reasons we do.
Can't wait to stay again, and if you don't book here when in the Calais area, or travelling through to other regions or back to the UK, you are missing out on a first class experience.

I felt very spoiled here. I came here with my cat on our way from France to England, and I was made to feel very well cared for. It’s clean, it’s comfortable, it has some old and elegant touches, and breakfast included every standard option and some tasty extras. The people on staff were lovely. It’s in a pretty town with a lot of history. Definitely a bargain.

We were there for a couple of nights, having stayed there many years ago.
The hotel has been totally redecorated from top to bottom as well as the bedrooms and has regained its grandeur, as the decor was getting quite tired and old.
The staff is extremely polite, welcoming and helpful.

We didn't take breakfast at the hotel (15€) but you may have coffee and a croissant for 6€, which was not an option a few years ago.

The town centre is only a 15' from the hotel and you may enjoy a nice stroll across the park and the bridge.

After a ten hour drive with two children and two dogs, we were stopped at eurotunnel pet reception due to our vet appt being less that 24 hours prior and told we were not allowed to travel until the following morning. After a horrid experience we were SO lucky to find Hotel Meurice who had two beautiful rooms available and were more than happy to take our two dogs. The lady at reception could not have been more helpful or welcoming and the hotel itself is an absolute gem. My boys said it’s the nicest hotel they’ve ever stayed in and the comfiest beds. Slightly faded grandeur make it even more special and I would not hesitate to stay again. Thank you Hotel Meurice, you made everything better!!

Fantastic hidden gem. Classically styled and very spacious. Rooms are of a good size with excellent on suite facilities, even have monogrammed towels! Staff are very accommodating and the breakfast offers many options. Excellent location with easy access to the centre. Parking a plus. Will use again.

We stayed just one night on a 2 week vacation throughout Europe. This stop was primarily for rest and the Hotel Meurice was the perfect spot for that. The rooms were cozy, clean and luxurious feeling.

It is an old fashioned hotel. Rooms and bathrooms are clean but the rooms lack modern touches like charging sockets for mobile phone. Coffee making facilities in the room very basic with bottle of water left for guests.
The parking in the basement is good and accessible by lift.
