Hotel Les Palmiers

Hotel ideally located near the port and the shops of the pedestrian streets. The rooms are small, the bathrooms too, little equipment, the door handles are from another age and impractical, the walls are extremely thin, no privacy from one room to another, decoration without originality , very average breakfasts (coffee and hot water in thermos, no staff to restock bread and pastries)

Noisy hotel. Very thin walls between rooms and atmospheric bar just below the hotel in the evening. Our room could do with a little updating. Low average breakfasts (no more coffee on arrival) Not a pleasant stay.

We were regulars at this hotel. The hotelier did not respect our requests and offered us a room with a strong smell of damp and musty. Faced with our refusal to take the room, he refused to reimburse us for the night paid on arrival, recognizing however the nauseating smell. We had to change hotels at our own expense. Unspeakable hotel practices.

Very pleasant and convenient location, close to the pedestrian center (unfortunately also close to the super-noisy bell tower...) close to the port (with relative parking) and the beaches, the hotel's outdoor restaurant (but the offer is very vast) and a bit of sea view from some rooms, a decidedly high price (which does not include breakfast, if necessary you pay separately see below) so it deserves some clarifications: - practically non-existent clothes rails, one skimpy present the other missing therefore compartment unusable except as a support surface, reported to the reception without any result - any hook for hanging shower towel, beach towel, bathrobe or anything else totally absent - bathroom shelves absent except for a small sink shelf obviously exposed to water from the tap - glasses / toothbrush holders absent, only paper cups which obviously degrade in contact with water - some sockets / lights not working - mini bar (even micro) absent - safe (also micro) absent - kettle for herbal teas absent (certainly an optional but given the price it would fit) - bidet absent and let's say a word because it is now spreading everywhere in the hotel industry even in Northern Europe and the French obstinacy in not including it in the bathroom equipment, which is also ecological, seems rather absurd because it allows you to consume less water for showers - double bed but two separate mattresses impossible to keep together therefore with a central chasm, stuff from the 60s incredible that there are those who still put separate mattresses in a double bed except for the purpose of being able to divide the beds and this is not the case (single headboard and structure, therefore just for the sake of providing an uncomfortable bed) - they tell us that work will be done but a small balcony right above the external terrace is unsafe supported by iron beams, the which is not very reassuring about the safety of the facade and the terrace itself - breakfast tested once, decidedly approximate and could be improved even without major demands - service a bit like a barracks, perhaps we should explain to the receptionists that they are the ones who have to say hello, don't wait for them to say hello the guest passing by in front of the counter, just as when a guest wanders in front of the buffet looking for something to put on his plate for breakfast it is not exactly elegant to invite him to sit down with an imperative "sit down" as if we were at school 😏 Waitress on the floor really very kind 👍🏻

My jewellery was stolen whilst I was out. No safe provided by hotel. Door was still locked by a physical key when I returned late that evening. Specific jewels only were selected from each. Bags were resealed and replaced neatly. I only noticed the next morning as one item was a gift for my daughter’s birthday that day. I checked all my luggage and noticed that other items were also missing so I now realised this was a theft. Reported it to the manager. I was visibly distraught. She immediately accused me of lying and refused to call the police or record the incident. I was taken aback by this outburst and inappropriate reaction to a very disturbing event. I travel extensively and I’ve never had one item go missing. There are so many lovely hotels in St Maxime - stay there instead. I’m still shocked and saddened by the course of events.
