Corfu Mare Hotel

Another fantastic holiday at the lovely Corfu Mare Hotel. This was our fifth time here and one of the primary reasons for going back is the wonderful staff who greet us like family when we arrive, look after us so amazingly well and are truly sad when we leave, as we were ! The hotel has undergone a major refurbishment over the winter and is looking fantastic. Breakfast was excellent as usual with Stravrola and her team in the kitchen providing superb food. As usual the service provided by Vasilis, Olga, Eleni and Marina in the bar and restaurant was truly wonderful with recently joined Pinot providing great support to them all. The reception team of Olga and Christina are both excellent as is the manager Helena. We also enjoyed some lovely dinner meals out on the poolside terrace and enjoyed the Greek dancing one evening. As we have mentioned before in previous reviews the hotel location is a bit out of the main old town and it’s a good 35 minute walk each way to get to the the centre and back but there are plentiful taxis available charging between €10 and €15 euros for the journey. The cleaners keep the rooms and public areas spotless and the maintenance man/night porter all do a great job. Thanks to all for another amazing week at one of our favourite hotels. It’s clear by the number of returning guests we meet each year that many people share our views.

Friendly crew and amazing service even if asking beyond regular service. Eda at front desk made the impossible happen when a friend needed a room on short notice as his flight was cancelled late evening and he needed a taxi at 4:30 am on Sunday.

We were booked there for a week. Sadly while I was there my brother passed away. The staff were kindness itself, so kind and empathetic. The travel company weren’t useful but the reception staff went above and beyond. For the few days we were there I have to say the place was spotless, the food was good. The baklava the best I’ve ever tasted! A little far from the city centre but had we been there longer I’m sure it would have been sorted. Taxi €10 from the old town. Many thanks to the staff on reception for your kindness on my short stay, you were so kind.

The friendliness of the small family run hotel made our holiday for us- all the guests chat to each other and the food is amazing! All the staff including the 2 chefs have apparently been there more than 12 years and are like a large family and you can really tell, the atmosphere is great. We could not recommend this family run hotel highly enough and the other guests agreed with us that it was just perfect! Bit of a walk into the Old Town and a shuttle bus would be nice but buses run nearby and it is just a short walk to the port. Taxi's are reasonably priced and there is a hop on hop off city bus tour nearby.

I only stayed 1 night after getting in from a late flight but I was very comfortable here. The staff were very friendly and helpful with everything I needed even allowing me to stay in the restaurant and getting me coffee and pastries until it was time for me to go to the port. They even arranged a taxi to help me get there. I would definitely recommend staying here and would stay again in the future.

stayed here with my partner after getting Ferry over from Albania. Rooms were fine, long walk into town. Great parking at the hotel, they also provide taxis. The restaurant was absolutely 10/10, i had an amazing huge steak. ncie and quiet pool area

My wife and I enjoyed our week at this hotel at the end of August into September. The rooms were OK with air conditioning & a ceiling fan. The reception area was pleasant with plenty of seating & a small library. The dining room was bright & airy & weather permitting a few tables around the pool in the evening with good entertainment some nights. The food was excellent & we enjoyed dining there most nights as restaurants are scarce in the vicinity of the hotel. Breakfast was very good as well & catered for most tastes with homemade cakes, pastries & jam. The bar served lunch also & drinks were
reasonably priced. It's a nice pool area & sun loungers were always available. We could not fault the staff who were all excellent at their jobs. Recommend.

Excellent staff, great restaurant that serves large portions of. We liked the tomato soup, chicken club sandwich & gyro club.
It is hard to sleep, though because the airplanes fly directly overhead all night long. The furniture is stained and their marks on the bathroom wall. They need a renovation.

2nd year here for my wife and I. Fantastic again. Vasilis, Olga, Elena and Marena looked after us extremly well. Food is fabulus and compeditive pricewise with town. A bit far out from the center (about 2.5K). There is a bus at the top of the road but only every 2 or 3 hours so times didn't a;ways suit. I would highly recommend this hotel. One suggestion I would make would be a shuttle bus to and from the hotel. I would think it would pay for itself.
