Corfu Mare Hotel

First time staying at the hotel …. Hopefully not the last. Lovely hotel, staff and food. The pool area is quiet apart from the off plane passing over but you tend to ignore after the first day (no problem at night). There is no need to ‘book’ a sun lounger, there is plenty to go around. It’s about a 2 mile walk into old town, if you go left out of the hotel you’ll walk along the main road, which is okay but can be busy. It you go right out of the hotel and left at the top of the hill, much nicer walk through the back roads.

Really lovely hotel, really relaxing place. Our room had been recently refurbished, so it was modern and comfortable. All the staff are very friendly and helpful, especially the barman in the evenings. Taxi into the Old Town is only about 10 mins. Food in the hotel is excellent. There’s a few restaurants within 15/20 mins walk if you want to try out some local places. There’s a small kiosk 5 mins walk away if you need snacks, ice creams and bottled water.

First and foremost, the staff at this hotel -without exception were absolutely fabulous. The walk into town is doable if you are reasonably fit but the heat is uncomfortable so we took a taxi there and back each evening. The old town centre is beautiful and has an array of amazing restaurants and bars. It had a friendly atmosphere and was great just to people watch and soak it all in. The hotel was clean but our room had not been refurbished and was tired as a consequence. Our safe required a ‘master’ key as the digital code was broken. There was no way of indicating’ do not disturb ‘ because the electric control pad did not work. One dressing gown was so threadbare that it had holes in the back and we had no bath plug. Housekeeping seemed under staffed and on a few occasions our room was not cleaned until after 3.30pm which interrupted our showers etc and getting ready for the evening. It’s not what I would call a boutique hotel. The bar area was not sumptuous enough, breakfast was mostly unattended by staff meaning that dirty plates/ crockery were not removed swiftly from the table. Although the food and choice was good. We are early risers and spend all day by the pool but as usual there are a few inconsiderate people who put their towels down and think nothing of blocking two beds until they deem to return hours later. A few tweaks could remedy all of the above. Most importantly all the Greek people we encountered were a delight.

What a great place to stay in Corfu town, first of all the staff are amazing so friendly and helpful will do anything you require, the food is spot on, cooked breakfast plus fresh fruit toast etc even the restaurant food later on is nice. The journey into Corfu town didn’t bother us much, we got a taxi for €15 or we would get the bus from the top of the street (2 mins walk), the reception would sell bus tickets for €1.20 so can’t complain at that price and this bus (**) will take you right into Corfu town. The pool was beautiful and well kept always clean and loads of sun beds free considering we was there for 10 days in July we always found sunbeds available Rooms are nice, I’ve attached photos of our room which we loved the air conditioning was perfect 👍🏻 would definitely return and recommend to anyone!

Comfortable and clean rooms. The staff were kind and helpful. They helped us book a boat for a day and a taxi. The breakfast was varied and fresh.

Another fantastic holiday at the lovely Corfu Mare Hotel. This was our fifth time here and one of the primary reasons for going back is the wonderful staff who greet us like family when we arrive, look after us so amazingly well and are truly sad when we leave, as we were ! The hotel has undergone a major refurbishment over the winter and is looking fantastic. Breakfast was excellent as usual with Stravrola and her team in the kitchen providing superb food. As usual the service provided by Vasilis, Olga, Eleni and Marina in the bar and restaurant was truly wonderful with recently joined Pinot providing great support to them all. The reception team of Olga and Christina are both excellent as is the manager Helena. We also enjoyed some lovely dinner meals out on the poolside terrace and enjoyed the Greek dancing one evening. As we have mentioned before in previous reviews the hotel location is a bit out of the main old town and it’s a good 35 minute walk each way to get to the the centre and back but there are plentiful taxis available charging between €10 and €15 euros for the journey. The cleaners keep the rooms and public areas spotless and the maintenance man/night porter all do a great job. Thanks to all for another amazing week at one of our favourite hotels. It’s clear by the number of returning guests we meet each year that many people share our views.

Friendly crew and amazing service even if asking beyond regular service. Eda at front desk made the impossible happen when a friend needed a room on short notice as his flight was cancelled late evening and he needed a taxi at 4:30 am on Sunday.

We were booked there for a week. Sadly while I was there my brother passed away. The staff were kindness itself, so kind and empathetic. The travel company weren’t useful but the reception staff went above and beyond. For the few days we were there I have to say the place was spotless, the food was good. The baklava the best I’ve ever tasted! A little far from the city centre but had we been there longer I’m sure it would have been sorted. Taxi €10 from the old town. Many thanks to the staff on reception for your kindness on my short stay, you were so kind.
