Kalamaki Beach Hotel, Zakynthos Island

Everything was just so lovely here, the staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. The beds were super comfortable. Breakfast is above its 3 star rating. We will be returning

Staff is very friendly. Location is great, close to the beach. Great breakfast with very friendly staff. Downside is the noise of landing airplanes and the rooms are small and noisy. The elevator and airconditioning seemed outnof service.
In the frontyard is a restaurant which opens at 1700 and in the backyard (on the beachside) a taverna. Both have a good selection of food and drinks.

Spotlessly clean hotel, sheet and towels change every 2 days, in between maids still come in and empty bins, sweep flooring. Breakfast was included in the price, was not too bothered about breakfast, though pleasantly surprised. Buffet style but not open, food covered impressed with this. Not typically English sausages or bacon but plenty of other choices if you didnt like them. Poached, scrambled and boiled eggs, beans, choices of bread, continental cheeses, ham etc, cereals,yogurts and cakes, lots of juices, coffee and tea. Room was a bit smaller than expected not much room for cases but could cope with it. Large balcony, lovely bathroom, walk in powerful great shower. Kettle and fridge in the room. Air-con and safe extra charge, air con 8 euros per day, didn't bother with safe. Local resort tax charge cost us 50 euros, quite reasonable for 10 nights. Pool area fantastic, no rush to save a lounger plenty available not at all over crowded. Very close to the beach, sun loungers x 2 with parasol 20euros on the beach, 15euros on grass next to the beach restaurant. Hotel pool bar and restaurant fantastic, not allowed own food or drink around the pool though. Absolutely love Angela who works there, very friendly and efficient, also does the bingo and quiz at 'Why Not' bar on the *****. Gave us information on where to visit, nice sight seeing spots. Everyone we met had returned back to this hotel year after year or to Kalamaki in general. Absolutely loved it, want to book for next year. It's at the end of the ***** close to the airport, about 10 min walk before you hit the ***** but all flat. Planes fly low over the hotel as very close to runway but not very frequent so no disturbance at all. Really do not have anything negative to say. Best restaurants for us Sizzle and Grill and Zorbos. Outstanding food and service.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful location right on the beach ( which is a turtle sanctuary), only about 10 minutes walk from the main ***** with restaurants & bars. The receptionist staff could not have been more helpful. The pool and snack bar were fine ( pool towels cost €2.00 a day !) their sun beds are free, but the sun beds on the grass are €15.00 for 2 beds + parasol and on the beach €20.00. Both pool snack bar and beach taverna stop selling food at 5pm, but there is a Garden bar and restaurant in the grounds in front of the hotel ( which we did not know about) which serves food from 5pm till midnight, and we enjoyed some really lovely Greek meals there.

What we loved:
Reception and housekeeping staff are lovely and always willing to help.
The hotel is located right on a golden sands beach, which is lovely for a quick morning swim when it's quite.
The location is convenient, close to Keri and the west coast beaches.

What we didn't love:
Quite close to the airport, which is very convenient, but do expect a fair amount of air traffic over the hotel.
Ground staff were unfriendly and even took a photo of me and my boy when we he ran off and got in the pool with sandy feet. The showers weren't working at the time so we couldn't wash his feet off before he jumped in. I was quite upset about that, but did mention it to the reception who were quite taken aback by that behaviour.

We have visited this hotel for many years and it is without doubt our favourite place in the whole world and we are frequent travellers from the uk . Last year we visited twice and this year we are returning again in July for two weeks . There is something about it that makes us come back year after year , It is a small hotel right on the sea front of kalamaki with breathtaking views . The welcome you get from the reception especially Sofia is first class she is knowledgeable , friendly and efficient she goes out of her way to help with everything . We have the same family room it is immaculate and perfect for us . The whole hotel is spotless and the same staff have been working there for twenty years which tells you how well managed it is . The breakfast room was recently renovated and the breakfast is of a good standard . The grounds of the hotel are very well kept . We love our time at the pool and Nicos and his beautiful wife always look after us . They are welcoming and friendly and the pool bar restaurant is outstanding we love spending our days there and never want to go home . Last year we came in July went home and booked to go straight back in September . The hotel is right in front of the beautiful Kalamaki sandy beach and the hotel also own the restaurant on the beach which is also incredible and a wonderful place to sit and look out at the beautiful beach and ocean . Anybody that is thinking of coming to kalamaki this hotel is top standard , suitable for families , solos or couples . My children are now adults my youngest being sixteen and they are counting down the days until we visit this incredible hotel again in July , Can’t recommend enough ,

Brilliant hotel right on the beach.
Breakfast was a good spread.
Pools are great, beach bar is good.
Only thing that one needs to be aware of is that the airport is right behind the hotel over the road, so all day and up to about 10pm you have landing and taking off planes coming over super low.
