Lefkimi Hotel

This hotel is marked as a 3☆ hotel and I'm wondering who does the ratings as this hotel doesn't deserve it.
From the outside it looks beautiful, and granted it is clean but that's where it ends.
The double room we were given was quite small with a bathroom you couldn't swing a cat in. The air conditioning cost 80 euros, payable on arrival for a week and wouldn't go below 16 degrees.
At night it would have been cooler sleeping on the balcony.
The shower head was an old plastic thing from the 70's which delivered water slowly, and a shower curtain which allowed the water to run onto the bathroom floor despite our best efforts.
We went B+B and had breakfast on the first morning.
Breakfast was toast, diluting orange juice, boiled eggs which had been boiled hard and left to go cold, and a request for a second cup of coffee was not well received.
The pool area was nice if not a bit cramped with it open to the public. All drinks and snacks had to be purchased from the hotel, problem was they had no snacks, ice cream or anything else for that matter.
Some staff were great but others had faces like wet weekends and the place was not very welcoming. Under different management and a few fresh ideas this might be a very nice little hotel but at the moment I would strongly recommend that you stay somewhere else.

First of all, they forget to mention the 50euro per room deposit, 10euro a day air con and 18euro per person tourist tax (all of which must be paid cash - very dodgy). Secondly, when we first arrived we where told there wasn’t enough rooms and we had to share, luckily we only came with 3 people (rather than the expected 4) so made it work the first night all sharing two beds pushed together (even had to ask for a third pillow). Thirdly, all the staff where unprofessional, starting from the owner who would constantly shout at his mother (an old woman also working there) which was not nice to overhear but as three young girls we fault unable to speak up. Furthermore the lady who we woke up to at the end of our bed, asking for money the second we woke up, also in our room uninvited (very weird). Finally, the two young boys who work there were very possessive and creepy towards all of us girls (particularly my friends) which obviously made us feel very unsafe. So overall very poor experience, do not recommend especially if you’re a young girl with friends.

I’ll start off with the good points. Lovely clean hotel in a central position to everything you need in Kavos and the swimming pool is very clean. Now the negative points that I experienced! First off, the bar manager was extremely rude and aggressive to me, unfortunately I am extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke and on the first evening there, I was sitting outside having a drink when someone on the next table started to smoke, I didn’t want to make a fuss, so I got up and went inside to the bar area to be told by the bar manager that I need to sit outside. I tried explaining that I did not like cigarette smoke, but he then started shouting at me to sit outside. I left my drink and started to go back to my room, when he tried to stop me until I explained that I was a guest. Secondly, although the pool was extremely clean the smell around it was unbearable, which explained why there where so many empty sun beds. They also have a policy that you can only eat and drink stuff that was purchased from the pool bar and I saw one couple being asked to leave as they brought in a bottle of water. Thirdly, the shower in the hotel room was very basic, small with a horrible old fashioned shower curtain around it. Plus, the shower pressure was non-existent, some mornings you were lucky to just get a trickle of lukewarm water. But the thing that I couldn’t understand was the breakfast! You have a choice of Toast, cornflakes, or tinned fruit (all options come with a selection of pastries, orange juice, coffee or tea). One morning I asked if I could skip the pastries (which were not very nice) and just have toast and cornflakes, to which I was told that it was not allowed. I even said that I would pay for it and again I was told it was not allowed! One guest dared to ask for another cup of coffee, to which the response was your only allowed one cup. All in all, I would not recommend this hotel as there are many more options around the area that were far better.

Hotel ok if you are looking for a place just to sleep. No TV, no kettle in rooms. The aircon is paid 10 Euro a day at the arrival and cash only. Hard beds, when we checked in we had shaved hair under the shower. Breakfast is served between 7-9 am. The pool bar charges an additional 0.5 euro per card payment.
