Asteris Hotel in Skala Kefalonias

Stayed here last week. Overall it's a nice hotel. Small. Freindly staff and great views of the sea and nice little pool. Clean and tidy. Food is reasonably priced and if I'm honest nicer than some of the expensive restaurants we went to (we traveled the island) the location is not ideal if you don't have a car. It does have a shuttle bus that doesn't always turn up into skala and back but there's little to nothing to do in skala. So a car is a MUST. The room is ok. Room is not a 4 star though for sure. The bed I thought was really uncomfortable I actually didn't sleep for a week other than a night I slept on the sofa but my partner liked the beds. The bathroom is the main downfall. It was like a 1 star hotel bathroom honestly it was so random and out of place. Didn't match the rest of the room or hotel. Holes in the tiles. Broken shower head that doesn't reach it's wall holder. Sealant all over the place like they put it on blind folded. The drain in the middle of the bathroom that he toilet shower and sink drain through flooded 2 times with bits of poo coming out. Pretty disgusting to be fair. The room you see on the site arnt the ones you see. I think there is some newer room blocks further down that maybe nicer but ours wasn't so can only go by what ours was like. The maid isn't amazing. Forgot towels one day and soap/shower gel another day. Breakfast is simple but ok. The rest of the hotel is nice though. Overall we enjoyed our stay but could have been better bathroom wise haha. Could be amazing hotel if updated older rooms
