Charming Trulli in Alberobello

The hotel is situated in a decent area. Walkable to quite a few nice restaurants (we love L’Olmo Bello). To do all of Alberobello in one day from here might be a bit much. We took our car up to public parking closer to Trullo Sovrano to do most of that area, the came back down, parked the car at the hotel and then walked over to Rione Aia Piccola to see I Trulli, the Painted Houses etc.
Breakfast was sufficient, don’t expect full American style and you won’t be disappointed. While the staff are excellent and the hotel is decent, the rooms could use a bit of a refresher.

Everything went well

An incredible experience. We were transported back a few hundred years for a moment and then we could take a refreshing shower. The overnight stay in Trullo was a surprise from my wife, how successful it was 😉 A small minus was the temperature. The hot day heated up the Trullo and the air conditioning couldn't handle it. It was hard to fall asleep and the church bells ringing every 15 minutes should be banned. The biggest minus is the breakfast included in the price of the accommodation. That was a mistake. Never, even in the worst hotel, have I seen such poor and bad tasting breakfasts. Dry leftovers of focaccia, scrambled eggs so hard that you had to cut them with a knife. Raw bacon, only slightly warmed up. One type of cold cuts and cheese. Someone probably doesn't know what a hotel breakfast is... Even a croissant with coffee would have been less of a embarrassment. The gentlemen and lady at the reception were very nice and made. Overall impression 5 stars despite the awful breakfast 😂

Rather than staying in a hotel, you live in a trulli.
That's what this hotel is like.
You walk through a town with streets so narrow that only one car can pass through.
Like the protagonist of a fairy tale?
Like a child when everything was new and strange?
How will you feel?
After checking in at the office, you walk to the trulli where you will be staying.
The trulli was compact and comfortable.
It is a little far from the center of Alberobello, but since I was enjoying the townscape as I walked, it didn't feel far at all.

There is just one thing to be careful of.
All trulli look alike, so be careful not to get lost.

We just checked out of our magical night in the historically staged trulli. The company manages several properties of varying style and size. Our trulli was located up the hill, behind the cathedral and right in front of the trulli museum.

It was perfectly staged to look and feel like a medieval home, successfully disguising all modern accommodations such as lights, electrical switches and outlets, AC, heaters, and even the toilet flusher 😀

We loved staying there and had a wonderful experience transporting us back in time in the dark ages, quite literally.

The lights are very dim, which personally I love. There were lots of candles everywhere which we used fully. There was a small fridge but no kitchenette to speak of, only a countertop.

If you plan on having drinks and snacks inside like we did while people watching on the "front porch" (read street) then make sure to ask the hostess to give you plates, silverware and glassware as they are NOT included in the staging of the property.

The hostess and check ING in process was very easy but do not be surprised if no one answers the phone as she was never in the office. We went in person to the office address and wait ones for her to arrive from checking some emails else in.

Our hostess was very friendly and smiling and accommodating, gave a very useful map and explained where we can find everything.

We stayed in the trullo Ulivo, which is very suggestive and combines tradition with modernity. Impeccable service thanks to the helpful and kind staff, an experience to be repeated absolutely

We stayed one night in the trullo n 22, complete with everything, fridge with free water, kettle, air conditioning, hairdryer, everything in short.
The girls at the reception were very kind and helpful with us, five stars for them.
I give 5 stars to the location, because it is very central.
It is a pity that breakfast was not included.
The only flaw that we found a scorpion in the kitchen 😅 crazy !!
