I travel a lot, and depending on availability, I stay at different levels of hotels. I can honestly say that this is my favorite hotel experience. The room, bathroom, and location were completely fine and the price was great, but it really was the kindness, openness, and humor of the owner and staff. And it was genuine. I was in Bordighera for a music competition (I am a conductor), which can be a strange experience. But all of the people at the hotel, even the woman who cleaned the room, were welcoming and open. They had a lovely upright piano (which was in tune!) right next to the reception - and they were fine with letting me play quietly when I needed to. I can't imagine going to another hotel if I come to Bordighera. Thank you, Gold Hotel.

We stayed for a week. The hotel is very good and welcoming. The staff was very polite and always smiling. The rooms we had were very spacious with an amazing bed for a restful sleep. The cleanliness and daily care of our rooms are proof of the quality of Gold Hotel!

We’ve entered the hotel ad-hoc without prior booking. Wow, what a mistake.
Check-in was OK we were shown to a stinky room and told it’s the last one. Well beggars can’t be choosers, our mistake was waiting until the last moment to find a hotel. What wasn’t our mistake was that, aside of the smell, the bathroom turned out to be health hazard with stinky pipes, mould on the walls and sealing, and hair from the previous occupant boldly sitting on top in the shower. Disgusting. There was nobody there to complain at night so we waited until morning. Owner started screaming after we complained, literally screamed. Heh.. I’ve seen some character issues before but to telling us that checking the state of the bathroom prior to taking the room was our responsibility is plain crazy. Even last minute it’s better to sleep in the car than this hotel. Avoid at all cost. PS. We were charged 19€ per night for parking…

I really recommend this hotel. (Extra reading for the Swedes down below 🇸🇪) The first thing I want to tell you about is that the manager of the hotel was so nice to us. I injured my toe whilst there and the manager put such an effort in to helping me bandaging it. He really cared. The rooms are really nice, the bed was seriously amazing to sleep in. The bathroom was super fresh. 5 min walking distance from the center of Bordighera. We decided to stay one more night in Bordighera, unfortunately the hotel was fully booked for another night. However the manager helped us find and recommend other really nice hotels. And also let us leave our luggage there so we could walk around and choose where to stay. (They do have breakfast but we didn’t eat there) The elevator is super slow and weird so if possible choose the stairs. 🇸🇪 fråga honom om hans Sverigeresa november 2022 😄
