Hotel Stelle Marine

No way does this warrant a four star rating. The restaurant service is poor, the menu choices were very limited.
It's location is on a hillside and not suitable for people with mobility issues and is a long walk (15mins at least) from the nearest shop. There are no local restaurants/cafe in the area so you end up having to put up with the poor hotel restaurant.
A hire car is almost essential.

The rooms are old and need renovation.
The terrace is full of ants and they won't do anything about it. You couldn't sit comfortably on the terrace or the ants would crawl up on you.
We were not allowed to have breakfast the first day on arrival because it was 9:50 am and breakfast would only be until 10:00 am. A few days later, people even came for breakfast at 10:30 am.
There would be children's entertainment, there were no children running around. We had to pay 175 € for the buffet in the restaurant and all fish was already gone, we could only eat some mussels and vegetables, and an ice cream. Afterwards I saw them bring plates from the kitchen to the tables, except with us, I had asked for an explanation of how it worked, a la carte or buffet, and had learned that we had to eat from the buffet. Every morning they had to prepare a table for five people for us, otherwise we couldn't all sit down. The cleaning lady was the friendliest.
Every day we had to climb a whole mountain to get back to our room, this was not mentioned in the brochure. We paid over 6000€ for this trip, for five days, and this was the most shabby hotel and service I have ever experienced!
Apart from the lady in the bar, she was also friendly .. Fortunately, I have experienced better holidays in Sardinia, and had a warm welcome, otherwise I would never have gone back ..

My wife and I stayed at this hotel from 3 to 11 September, with half board (256 € per night per couple). The advice is to stay away from it as much as possible. Let's start from the points in favor, since there are few:
1) the common areas are well maintained;
2) near Cannigione, 5min by car;
3) close to the beach, 300 meters on foot and if you want you can ask for a ride (round trip) with their golf carts;
4) equipped beach, with umbrella and two beds per room;
5) good breakfast.

And now the list with the points against:
1) for the first two dinners it "rained" on the table and chair, since the table was under the air conditioning outlet which, apparently, was condensing. We asked to be moved several times, but we had to wait for the third day;
2) we were moved, after the wet table, for another 3 times without giving explanations;
3) we found ourselves several times with dirty sheets and towels after the change: we pointed this out several times but the problem remained;
4) shower in the bathroom just over 1 meter on each side, with a dirty shower tray;
5) during the booking I had advised that my wife is a vegetarian (no meat, no fish), and they confirmed that they prepare more vegetarian / vegan dishes every day, so there would be no problems. Too bad the information (it seems) never made it to the kitchen. The first dinner was fish: when we pointed out the problem to the maitre d ', he was stunned. The solution was a portion of potato pie, lukewarm, brought 15min later;
6) for the first few days the "most vegetarian / vegan dishes" were a constant string of: pasta with tomato sauce, caprese or various cheeses (pecorino). Honestly, in a 4S hotel, it is inexplicable to pay for such dinners;
7) when we pointed out that there were no vegetarian dishes, the answer was always a caprese, or if anything, fish or sliced ​​turkey (apparently they don't know legumes and / or the rest of the world of vegetables) ;
8) the maitre d 'treatment left us stunned, especially at the beginning: he had taken away the greeting, and we were often served after other tables, even if we arrived earlier. The behavior has changed the last 2/3 days. Luckily at least the waiters (one tall, thin, black-haired one, and all the waitresses) didn't mind making two words and telling us what they were bringing us to eat;
9) for breakfast there was the risk of having to wait 7 hours in a queue, as the buffet was all served by the staff, but there was only one person behind the counters (the colleague was in charge of cooking the eggs);
10) mattress broken in the center.
