Golfo del Sole Hotel & Holiday Resort

Great location. Very nice few days of relaxation in the middle of a tour around Italy. Beautiful beach that wasn’t crowded. Each room is assigned a pair of chairs and an umbrella on the beach, which was convenient. The pool was just enough with a small slide for the kids. The resort has a bunch of water sports at the beach (paddle boats, kayaks, SUPs) all readily available for 10 euro for 30 min or 15 euro for 1 hour, which I found reasonable. They also offer a free kids club and various kids activities, so the resort is a great option for families. The kids club instructors spoke English, which helped our kids feel comfortable. They run a kids dance party every night with songs in several languages (English, Italian, German), and our kids particularly enjoyed that. We stayed in the hotel, but there are also bungalows and apartments that looked nice. The bungalows overlooking the sea looked especially great, but unfortunately they were not available for our stay. Our room was clean, comfortable and updated. We booked a family room, which was basically a 2 bedroom hotel room (very comfortable for a family of 4). While food quality was just fine, we found the food options to be a bit lacking at times. Although there was always somewhere to eat, it was confusing as to where we could actually get food at any particular time of the day. There’s a pizza place next to the pool that doesn’t seem to open for lunch, which seemed odd to us given that the pool is most crowded in the middle of the day. The restaurant in the hotel is also closed for lunch most days. The beachside restaurant is nice but reservations are needed a day or two in advanced. We also found it a bit frustrating that the pool closes early in the evening, well before dusk. And on one of the days of our visit there was a short storm in the morning that led the resort to close the pool and beachside restaurant for the entire day (and evening) even after the day cleared up and turned into a beautiful afternoon. Overall, this resort is a great option for a nice family vacation. We had a very relaxing few days there.

Last time I was here it was more than 20 years ago and it seems it still appeals to mostly German and Swiss speaking people which for me was excellent as my Italian is very rusty. The houses are clean everything works well and the beach is really really nice, only a few metres away from the houses. The pool area is great for kids of all ages. We didn’t really make any bad experiences so I can happily write the place with the five stars and maybe the next visit won’t be 20 years down the road either

Absolutely perfect place for family vacation, next to the sea, pools, restaurants, etc.

Good good, nice people. Very good animation with free child care, they do a lot of activities. Free own beach spot. Not all apartments are renewed, the old ones are not so nice but in the end is a value for money option for holiday in Follonica

Golfo del Sole - Hotel & Holiday Resort is a great place to relax. Attentive personal, magnificent animation, especially for children. Well equipped apartments. Huge beach owned by the hotel. Clear sea and coastline. Excellent restaurant and beach bar with fine cuisine and a choice of food and drinks. I liked the pool, every day swam 3-4 kilometers. A good set of sports simulators. The hotel is a very cultured audience, mostly Swedes and Germans with children. Everyone is quiet. Large and comfortable parking. I also wanted to mention wonderful sports grounds for tennis and football. At first glance, the main drawbacks are the noise from the nearby railway and the rooms have few windows, which affects the small natural illumination. Seldom do towels change.

The resort is beautiful and well maintained! Everything can be reached in 5 min walk!
The sea is perfect for the family with small kids!

Something to improve would be the cleaness of the rooms and the Wi-Fi connection in the apartment. It doesn't allow you to stream media from internet and more over also to work remotely. This also after the intervention of the technician.
