We recently spent a couple of days at Hotel Alpenroyal and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home in this beautifully managed family-run hotel. The staff were gracious, attentive, and genuinely friendly — always ready to help and with a smile. The views from the hotel are breathtaking: majestic mountains rising around you, with crisp air and ever-changing skies. We loved waking up each morning to such scenery. The breakfast was outstanding — a generous spread of fresh, local foods, breads, cheeses, fruits, and more, all of excellent quality. After full days of exploring the region, the spa facilities were a perfect retreat. The wellness area was clean, relaxing, and thoughtfully designed, giving us a tranquil place to unwind and recharge. Throughout our stay, we were impressed by how seamless and professional the experience was, paired with the warm, personal touches that only a family-run establishment can provide. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already planning our return.

I feel compelled to make a review because we were disappointed, and therefore it seems right to warn.
We went for a week in August, new and well-kept environment and for this reason I think they got the fourth star.
The double bed, it's not, in truth they are two beds with a nice groove in the middle and complete with a waxed crosspiece like in the hospital, we kindly asked if it was possible to join them and they looked at us askance and responded worse.
Zero courtesy line, worn towels, in the spa the infrared sauna (which I needed) was broken, the other one (nudists only) had a cold pool!
We forgot a pillow and they didn't even tell us.
The restaurant however is worthy of note, we ate well (dinner from 7pm to 8pm)
The nice little village a few steps away but everything was completely closed, the hotel which seemed full never organized anything after dinner.
I would say perfect for ages 70 and up.

Renovated hotel with some pluses, but many downsides.
Excellent breakfast, savory and sweet of quality and variety. Service from staff always quick and friendly.
Convenient covered parking.
Close to the lift lifts for Marenzen included in the price.
Clean, new, pleasant and spacious room.
But also negative sides.
Evening cuisine with few variations, banal dishes, little regionality, first courses with pasta that is always overcooked. I also scald the rice. The desserts are better, with super strudel. The restaurant environment is too divided, it looks like a club where every guest is hidden behind a wooden barrier, I don't like it. Water is always very expensive like all of South Tyrol. Excellent service however.

And an unacceptable negative note, which I mentioned during my 7-day stay, outdoor area prohibited to minors under 18 after 4.30pm. Then in their own hotel everyone chooses their own policy, but no one at the booking stage, or on the site, specified this restriction, so when I found out about it, traveling with 2 children aged 6 and 10, I asked the question. Unfortunately my options were either to have an exemption, which I was granted, or to cancel my stay. It would have been enough to know this policy beforehand and I would have booked another facility without many problems. I then found out that other families were also staying after hours.
Gym with nice environments, but very dated equipment.
Staff and owners kindly cold beyond the strict role duties.
Hotel therefore not for families, but excellent for couples, even better if of mature age.

The three stars are the average between an excellent structure and a cuisine that does not reflect the authenticity of South Tyrol. The structure, the rooms and the wellness area are beautiful, the cuisine however needs to be completely revised, including typical local dishes. Pasta with Genoese pesto, mussel and shrimp risotto, scallops with lemon, etc. should absolutely be removed from the adult menu.
I will definitely return, but with a b&b formula.

We stayed in October 2023. Modern clean hotel, new comfortable rooms. Very good breakfast and dinner. Clean, very nice relaxing spa. Very friendly and helpful receptionist. To return.

Can't speak highly enough of this property! Starting off, the property itself is just stunning and the amenities they have onsite are top notch (the view from within the outside pool is unbelievable). Monika and her team were so kind and welcoming, and provided tons of great recommendations and were just always available to help make our stay as best as possible! The room itself was sleek with such a comfy bed and amazing bathroom and private balcony. Breakfast in the mornings was just the best open buffet with such a wide variety of cold and warm options! We never took advantage of the dinner there, but their options always looked great. Could not recommend this property enough though to spend your time in Castelrotto and the surrounding area!

This has been the most wonderful travel experience I’ve had. The mountains are pristine, the hotel accommodations are perfect, and the people are so nice. I came for a few days but would rather spend the entire week here. It’s truly a paradise. I highly recommend staying here. I am American and am absolutely going to recommend this to friends and family back home. We will be back!

I spent three days with my children at the Alpenroyal hotel, I was looking for a hotel on the Alpe di Siusi with a good quality/price ratio and I would say that I found it! It is located next to the chairlift to Marinzen, in the center of Castelrotto. Excellent cleanliness, kind and helpful staff, food also suitable for the tastes of the little ones, indoor swimming pool almost always free and mostly used by children who are free to splash around, dive and have fun. Brand new and super sunny outdoor pool, small but complete wellness center. With the prices that go around in those parts, the best for a family holiday. I will definitely be back!
