Reviews
Firstly, the breakfast spread was consistent each morning, which was nice for those who appreciate routine. However, it would have been great to see a bit more variety to keep things interesting throughout our stay.
One significant concern was the cleanliness of our room. Unfortunately, it was quite dusty upon arrival, and despite requesting a change of sheets, we found that the dust issue persisted. This detracted from our comfort and overall enjoyment because we were under the weather.
While the hospitality of the staff was commendable, improvements are needed in room cleanliness and breakfast variety to elevate the experience for future guests.
Rooms very dark, lack of lamps, furniture is very old, bathroom need a strong renovation. There is no kettle in the room. I visited in November and rooms are cold at night. Breakfast is below average as well, I recommend avoiding coffee at any cost.
Good things: location, clean towels everyday, stuff is friendly.
You can stand one-two nights here, but it’s definitely not three stars, as it declared on booking.
Clean and tidy, although our bathroom needed TLC and bath had no plug, so we couldn'thave a bath, which was not a big deal. There was no kettle or coffee in the room. Wi-Fi fast and included.
Near to bus stop take to Venice, direct route.
This hotel is extremely close to the 6 and 6L bus stop. It makes it very easy to go into Venice. There are restaurants nearby for a quick bite.
Venice in itself is an old city. The facilities were a bit dated and not modern but it was in theme with the vibes of the city.
They even packed us a good breakfast meal comprising of a fruit, yoghurt, cheese bun and water which we paid for.
Downsides are the AC didn’t work, it blew air but didn’t get to the temperature set all night and the tub to the shower is very high and I’m sure some older folks might have trouble getting into it. Also there was only really one outlet and it was by the door.
All in all fair for the price paid.
AC unit are not operating unless asked for but limited hours.
Hotel is well maintained.
I got a plate of sticky rice (I hate that when there heat some up in a mould, rather than cook fresh fluffy stuff) and what looked like cubes of meat in a dark brown gravy (similar to dog food) the cubes were mathematically 1.5cm³ (the Sous Chef must have one of those chopping boards with measurements on it?) they were battered but not crispy.
The sauce: mainly soy and corn starch (you know when it starts to congele and form worm-liike strands...?) had never seen a bit of pepper, sweet corn, carrot, chilli, ginger, often pineapple for sweetness, and vinegar... I was the only one in the restaurant (apart from the staff who came, ate and went. I was not offered so much as a drink of water let alone the wine list! I sat at the table for 25 minutes waiting for a member of staff to come and speak to me, take my plate ask me if I wanted dessert... (I so wanted gelato to take the taste away), nothing. The lights had gone off in the kitchen even though there was still officially 10 minutes to closing time (9pm). Eventually, a little man almost unnoticed, placed a bill for €15 on my table. I felt like I'd been released as a hostage. I'll eat back in Venice tomorrow.
Look out for my separate hotel review.
