Beautiful hotel at a great unbeatable location. Their restaurant RegiaCorte is a must visit. The rooms are spacious, however, they lack the luxury that you would expect at these rates. The washrooms were very basic and the lighting was not adequate. The air conditioning was not very effective, however, that could also be attributable to the heat wave as temperatures were at 41 degrees celsius.

What a beautiful hotel. Views from our room were spectacular. All staff were so kind. Breakfast was amazing. So many choices. Had a fantastic dinner at restaurant our last night. Thank you for a memorable time

Very nice hotel. Location is pretty unbeatable.
Rooms felt a bit underwhelming. We were in a cave-room(?) which is quite stunning, but felt a little dated in bathroom, confusing shower. And lacked amenities for a 5 star.
Breakfast is fantastic, with great choice and setting.
Overall service was on point.
Received welcome drinks with their restaurant piu sud but service their and welcome was very poor ( later ate there and was good food)

A very memorable stay for sure…we spent two nights in a cave room and it was very special!! I wouldn’t recommend any more than two nights in this room as the caves are more humid and our things started to feel damp by the third day. The hotel is in the perfect location and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant provides a wonderful breakfast selection and we also enjoyed a beautiful dinner there too. The views are fantastic from anywhere in the hotel. I would recommend wearing shoes with good soles as the stone pathways and stairs in the city of Matera are very slippery. Absolutely recommend staying at the St Angelo for a night or two to remember!!

Absolutely stunning place to stay, our room (95) was gorgeous. Light, airey and very well appointed.
Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, they can help with anything you wish to know/do.
Ideally situated in the best area of Matera with stunning views.
Excellent breakfast selection.
Due to it's location and individual styles I would recommend contacting them before booking if you have any mobility issues

BE CAREFUL!!! Me and my partner got our laptops stollen whilst the luggage was moved from the hotel room to the hotel shuttle (service provided by the hotel). We pressed charges. I have never experienced such rude and aggressive behavior from the staff and even the owner of the hotel when we tried to ask for their help in investigating what happened. The attitude you would not expect in a 1 star hotel. Complete absence of help and hostile attitude from everyone when we tried to understand what happened ( I wonder why?)
The hotel lacked basic amenities- no dental kit ( we stayed there 3 days, they never provided it, they just told us we can buy it ourselves is a supermarket?)

The shower is very unpleasant, impossible to get to the right temperature, either boiling hot or super cold.
You can get same level of room for much better price (it is super basic cave room, super awkwardly shaped).
Overall horrible experience.

Service team was exceptional. We had a little mix up with the cab when we arrived, and had to walk in the rain, but I actually really liked the walk through the old town!! If you have roller bags it makes it hard with the steps so make sure to take the roadway as it will be flat. Anyways, our stay was amazing, the staff was super helpful getting us reservations at local places especially if we were in a pinch. They also do have a restaurant and full bar with liquor. We spent a few nights there just enjoying wine in the caves. We never took on their tours but it seems that they offer many tours, so when we come back we will be sure to enjoy those.

Yesterday I dined at Regia Corte, the restaurant of the Sant'Angelo Luxury Resort.
The location is incredibile, breathtaking!!!
The waiters greeted us in the best way, the dinner was fantastic .

This place was over rated. What we thought was going to be a great stay on our 10 day vacation was the only down side out of the eight locations we stayed. Services (i.e. restaurant and bar) were not available. The mini bar offered prosecco, however didn't have any and when we ordered some, they charged a 20 euro room service fee on a 30 euro bottle. When I complained, they did nothing about it. The cooling in the room was also inadequate. This place is far from Luxury, the only thing luxury about the place is their price. Save your money and make Matera a day trip on your way to either Salerno if heading west or any of the great Masserias heading East. Absolute rip off, and I will let my credit card company deal with them on the room service.
